Well,don't get too excited...You remember what happened the last time a team went up 3-0 in a playoff series... It just seems like it's finally Boston's turn....Scott Rolen,0 for 11????St. Louis doesn't seem to have a chance...I thought the following artical was rather interesting,which I retyped,since I don't know how to do all that scanning stuff.... Hale,documented as the world's oldest man,is a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Hale already has seen the Red Sox become the only team in baseball postseason history to overcome a 0-3 start to advance.Boston is up 2-0 on the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. That's a good point,Excie...I've heard people should run on the 'balls' of their feet...And I've looked people straight in the 'eyeballs'...I've also seen people who were sweating profusely have a little 'sweatball' on the tip of their nose...I've even seen some guys wearing their way corpse shorts with baggie underwear having their...um,...you know,...regular balls hanging out...But for the life of me,I don't recall ever seeing anybody's earballs...Not even Alexis Spakowski's...

Not taking anything away from St. Louis,but I hope the Series is a four game sweep...Normally,I'd be rooting for the Cards now because I'm a die-hard NL fan...But in some ways this year for Boston reminds me of 'The Miracle on Ice',when the U.S. Hockey team beat Russia..The U.S. still had to beat Finland or Sweden or one of those countries,to win the Gold Medal...But that final game was quite anti-climatic compared to beating the Russians...As good as St. Louis is,they may simply be chosen by fate to be Boston's final stepping stone to their 'Miracle on the Diamond' season...Besides,I don't know if the Boston fans could handle another suspenseful seven game drama..

Tyler's looking old....What they meant about not replacing Womack is that the World Series rosters are set...If a player gets hurt in the series,like Womack,the Cards cannot call up a player from the minors to take his place,or make a fast trade with another team or sign a free agent to take his place...You can do all those things during the regular season,but not in the playoffs..

That 8th inning was like watching a highschool game...Marquis the pitcher pinch running and stumbling into second base,Manny's two errors...At least there were no mental lapses yet....

Can't you do the radio play-by-play with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan and turn the tv sound down?

Yeah,I wondered myself why Jeter was sent back to first when he was already on second when the interference occured...I suppose Lifted up knows the ruling...I don't really blame A-Rod for doing what he did or Torre for arguing...I just didn't like the way the Yankees were inciting the mob...Jeter keeping on giving the safe signal from the dugout as if he were anywhere close to the play...Torre was probably arguing the 'ruling by committee' overruling the first base ump's call...

Count me among those who never would have dreamed there'd be a game seven after that 19-8 debacle...Red Sox have really showed some character...

Just saw Sheffield's three run hr :(-->...It's becoming quite the donnybrook.... I missed the balk,but I probably wouldn't have been able to call it,anyway....Balking is one of the most confusing rules in baseball..I've been more confused by umps calling balks,or not calling them,then just about anything else on the field... Dang....11-6,now....

I don't know who I would have picked this year but I"m thinking along the same lines as you are...I wouldn'd mind even if they changed the name of the MVP award to something that would encompass the player's total contribution to his team...Maybe I just admire the complete ballplayer more than the guy who just has all the stats but can't field worth a $hit...

Btw,..some mentioning was done here regarding the MVP awards...The voting for MVP is done right after the season and before the post-season...So the player's performance in the regular season is the only basis for evaluating consideration for the award...The same goes for the Cy Young awards and Manager's of the Year...Even if their performances go down the toilet in the post-season,it does not affect the special award voting...

Well,I'll do my best Norman Vincent Peal act on behalf of the Red Sox...Anytime your #1 ace starting pitcher gets rocked early and often like Shilling did,and you still come that close to bailing him out,I think it shows a team solidarity that is certainly to be admired...I thought taking him out after three innings was a good move...There's a good chance he'll start two more games(if he's healthy),and he's got to realize that he doesn't have to beat the Yankees all by himself,he's got a great team backing him up... Right now I would say the Yanks got the lead in the series but the Bosox have the momentum...

Hope she don't name the baby Pedro....'specially if it's a girl...
