  1. It(Steroids scandal) needs to be dealt with like the Black Sox scandal and put behind baseball....Baseball should test it's players...period...And tell the players union to stick it where the sun don't shine...I think of a guy like Mark Grace, who was quoted a lot in today's paper about steroids...He never took 'em...Tho he had more hits in the '90's than any other player,he probably would have hit more than a career high of 17 homeruns(in a season) with a 'little help'...I for one want to see the users exposed and names to be named...
  2. All right,I'll move over to baseball thread...
  3. I love reasoning with you guys out of the scriptures....What did Kant say?...What did PlayDough say?...What did Aristotle(Jonassis)say?...Seeing we are so compassed about with so great a cloooouuuudd of (living)witnesses.... As the Hollies would sing...Ridin' along on a Carol Sell....Yeah,...Christmas Carolin'...I was really, really blest doing that...In fact,I remember feeling pretty Mary,'til she slapped me and left,...then I jumped for Joy....
  4. Brooklyn??....I won't mention anything about age here.... Looks like the big story in baseball this winter is going to be the player's use of steroids...Jason Giambi just came clean....well,not exactly...
  5. Yeah,Tommy, your Words are Nestle's Quik, and powerful, and sharper than any Phoebe Cheddar cheese, piercing even to the dividing bowels asunder of soul and spiritsssaaaah(plural),and of the (Penny)Boones and (Marquita)Morrow, and shows Mr. Velerker the thoughts and intents of the heart...Yeah,I know ye Bible...
  6. Gosh,no,Krys,I wasn't making fun of you,but I guess it appeared that way after rereading it....Sorry...However,if you ever post on the baseball thread,I'll probably yank your chain over there... I think your point,or suggestion, is a valid one,but I don't know if there's really a call for banning beer sales at sporting events...I agree a lot with what Mstar said about it being cathartic(whatever that means) for the fans to hoot and holler and vent their frustrations or whatever.... This one lies totally on the athletes...Like a buddy of mine said, nobody ever threatened somebody by saying "give me your wallet or I'll throw this cup of beer at you"...Artest stays on the bench, securety throws the cup thrower out,and you have no riot...
  7. Krys....Maybe they should serve beer to the players during timeouts...Then at least some of their punches will miss the fans if another brawl were to break out...
  8. Poor Hornsby probably didn't have a baseball encyclopedia to read in the winter...
  9. Hey,how did that happen?...My post was the last one on page 3 and the first one on page four...Is that a new greasespot quirk....I know,....Like God,when I say something twice that establishes it....
  10. Yeah, whaddayou know about believing,TGN...BTW,thanks for the compliment(Bill Mays)... I think too often in TWI,if somebody was not "receiving",hence axiomatically not "believing",it was treated as maybe "willful disobedience",as if we were not believing on purpose....Many times I would think about that guy in the Gospel of Mark whose son had one hell of a devil and told Jesus "Lord,I believe, help thou mine unbelief"...That man's statement seemingly contradicts itself.... IMO,the snake oil part of PALF was that it would teach you how to believe...Even one of the way corpse principals was to "practice believing to bring material abundance to you and the ministry"...Well,how do you 'practice' believing in that regard other than getting a good job, tithing, abundant sharing, volunteering and giving back to the ministry that taught you how to believe and staying out of gambling joints and houses of ill repute and so on and so on...
  11. Tonto,I'll have my people get a hold of your people and see if we really need to talk... Jardi...Is that 'Call Me' by Chris Montez or 'Call Me' by Blondie? You know what Barbara Streisand says,Excie...People who need people are the luckiest people in the world...
  12. If I remember correctly,VPW says in the first segment of the class something like "I don't tell you that you ought to pray,I teach you HOW to pray..I don't tell my people they ought to believe,I teach them HOW to believe"...The problem is neither Wierwille,or the Bible really follows through on HOW to believe... As a follower of the way,I've "mentally assented",I've "walked out on my believing",I've "claimed it in the name of Jesus Christ",I've "let go and let God",I've thanked God "for already recieving it",I've "put myself in neutral",I've "demolished my human logic from the high point which I've lifted it vertically against the knowledge of God which I have known by experience, being wise, leading every thought captive to the obedience of Christ",like Job I've "prayed for my enemies",I've practiced "stayed mind",I fasted for three days and three nights,I "walked in the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation",I hoped for "good" but prayed for "best" and I even prayed that I'd have more believing....and NONE of it worked!... I'll tell you what, somebody give me the secret, magical formula for what constitutes believing, and I'll try it out on something and let you know if it equals receiving or not....
  13. Well, shi t,doesn't anybody need to talk to me? You guys make sure you clean up after yourselves and turn out the lights before you leave....
  14. It's a sad time for you,indeed,Pawtucket...Grieve as much as you need to...In times like this it's great that we have memories to help console us....
  15. Yeah, well I stayed in Oklahoma once and I think the whole state blows....My new Oreck vacuum cleaner really sucks...Whose idea was it to call it a blow job,anyway?...
  16. So....This is the thanks I get for being the Comforter,...the parakletos, one called to comfort and exhort and to guide into the "all truth"??? And what of the account of Annanias and Sapphira?....Are they have-truths also(Mosely)?....Yeah,how is it that ye all have agreed to lie to the holy ghost?...Tell me Shipper, have ye sold your land for thus and such?... Bless all yer hearts...I wish we could all devour a turkey and punkin pie together tomorrow...Happy Thanksgiving,pilgrims....
  17. Yeah...Road trip!.... I think the Cubs may really be in disarray around then....Steve Stone and Chip Caray are gone....Moises Alou will be gone....And crybaby Sammy Sosa left the team early on the final game, evidently because his feelings were hurt because he was moved down in the batting order...He should have been the first in line to ask to be benched,or moved down in the order so he could help his team, when he was slumping instead of resting on his laurels...I'm not so sure Dusty is up to the task of pulling that team together.... BTW,Fred Hale Sr.,lifelong Bosox fan who wanted to see them win one more chamionship before he died,no longer is the world's oldest living man...He died peacefully in his sleep Friday at the age of 113....God rest his soul....
  18. That's great fellowman...Once you're officially out from under the debt to your mortgage company you will "owe no man anything" and will be eligible to unmark and avoid yourself back into the friendly confines of the way int. inc. ...Shoot,then I'm sure you can sit thru Dealing with Devils or Renewed Mind classes and learn that this stress is just Satan's fiery darts being thrown at you and you'll just need to change your thinking....By the way, don't forget to tithe on the amount of profit you're making due to your home's appreciated value....
  19. Yeah,whatever....I'm more concerned with our erectorial college today than Saturday afternoon college football....
  20. NiNNika, Do your mourning in the afternoon when the sun's nice and warm and it will help in evening things out in your mind so you don't do something you'll regret at night....
  21. Mstar,a dozen or so quaffs at game seven at Fenway sounds awesome...Maybe the scoreboard will show 'Moonlight' Graham: 1 Games,0 at bats.... Well,as VPW would say,at times like this you wonder what to say to your people...I could only continue to hope and dream for my Cubbies, but it was great to 'experience' the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of another longsuffering baseball junkie... Why do some of us get so captivated and become such lifetime devotees to a team sport?...Maybe it's because baseball is so much like life, encompassing both a logical,common-sense approach, while at the same defying logic, common sense, and is filled with example after example of the unexplainable...How do you explain 3 MVP candidates going, what was it,4-45 collectively?...Was Boston's pitch selection and location that precise or were their pitchers on a mission?...But every year all ball players start out(supposedly) on this same 'mission',to win a championship...What was it about Boston this year that made them grab lightning in a bottle and put it all together and overcome an 86-year drought in a most improbable fashion?...I have no idea, but I do know that they'll be talking about this one for years and years... It must make no sense at all to the casual observer that there are many aging men and women out there who feel they can now die in peace because their beloved Red Sox have finally won a championship...How is it that otherwise sensible, intelligent people develop such a bond,or a love affair, with a team that just has the name of a city in front of it that we live in or near, has players from all over the world, perhaps an owner or owners we can't stand, and we have to pay them gobs of money to watch them play?...It's illogical... The grown-up in me enjoys baseball for what it is....a great pastime that combines skill, athleticism, strategy, drama and sometimes guts and will to provide an unparallelled form of entertainment...Yet the little kid in me charges through the front door, ignores all my welcomers and flips on the tv to see how my Cubs are doing-as if somehow their success will make my life more than abundant... Congrats, again to the Bosox,Mstar...Savor this time...I cannot say I know(ginosko) how you feel, but in experiencing the same disappointments as you,I can guess that it's pretty exhilirating...Go ahead...be a kid again...
  22. Dragged...drug...drugged...What's the difference?...Yeah,where the heck is Mstar?...I hope he's not in jail for flipping over a car and setting it on fire or something...
  23. Linda, keep your politics outa this....Aren't you late for your John Birch meeting? :P-->
  24. Oh,yeah....Hath fellowpither not power to lead about a sister,a wife, even as Cephas, and our other brethren in the Lord?....What would you say his thorn in the flesh was?...
