I got one. And I would really like to know if ANYBODY liked this guy. He was, I believe, 9th corps and was once in charge of the WOW program. I know he's currently got his own ministry and a website, but to this day I think the guy's a total a******! I was at some weekend thing that he was at, and a group of us were sitting at a table doing something, and he looks at me and says, "THERE YOU GO AGAIN....TALKING ABOUT THE WORD OUT OF CONTEXT!" or something like that. I not only can't remember what provoked his outburst, but I have NO IDEA what he was talking about. In 18 yrs in TWI no other leader EVER said anything remotely like that to me. Like GOD told him to say that or some s***? A year or so later he was on a video promoting the WOW program. He said that IHO one thing that really hurt the program was war stories. "STOP TALKING ABOUT HAVING TO EAT PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES!!! WHY NOT BELIEVE TO EAT *STEAK*!!!" God, wouldn't you love to be in HIS wow family? Later that year it made me feel good at the ROA when LCM said from the main stage, "Need some new war stories? Go WOW!"

I've apologized to some but not others. But I left in '94 before the real s*** hit the fan. Even before that though if I hurt somebody and couldn't contact them I'd just ask God to forgive me and ask Him to bless that person and heal them. Not much else to do. I think Tonto's a she.

Weird is spelled W E I R D. It's one of the few exceptions to the grammatical rule "i before e except after c" just like either, neither and seize. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just trying to be a jerk; you understand. Yes, all that stuff IS weird.

Wierwille LITE is for those who are on a brain diet and can't have straight Wierwille.

Dennis Weaver was on a celebrity "Weakest Link" episode a few years ago. He didn't win, but he was very good natured about getting the Anne Robinson treatment. I did not know that Spielberg directed that movie "Duel" he was in. I watched that movie tripping. Not a good idea.

My first choice would be to get hold of someone you knew in TWI and check out the fellowship they go to. My second choice would be to go to a church and just bite your tongue about the trinity and see if you liked it ANYWAY. Or maybe scrap the above and just pray; see where God leads you.

Detective: I've got good news and bad news, girls; the good news is your dates are here. Girl: What's the bad news? Detective: They're dead. from Night of the Creeps

I dunno Krys, my dog always parks his butt next to me and my next door neighbor when we jam together.

"Wierwillite" is a slur intended to attack people who recognize truth in his teachings.

This all reminds me of a joke: Suzie Slut jokes. One in particular. Suzie Slut was out on a date. The guy started to cop a feel on her breasts....but she just LAUGHED...SHE knew her money was in her purse. In other words...the guy was intent on feeling her, but she foolishly thought he was intent on something else. And now the devil is intent on "feeling your hearts" (getting you to attack the word) but you just LAUGH....YOU know the real issue is VPWs sins.

If the way ever teaches the trinity, they'll call it the TWInity.

quote: They made to many people pay the "high price" for their(twi) own pleasure. So just what is this "high price"? Time? Youth? ABS money? All of the above? I was thinking of starting a thread called "What makes Wierwille haters the angriest?" but it's not that deep a subject. It's the illusion that all TWI did was make fools out of everybody. That everybody who spent years in TWI were scammed and all the world can see their foolishness and no amount of compensation will change that. That's bondage! Glad it's you and not me. This illusion drives people here to not only beat themselves up but to treat others unkind as well. Welcome to hell. I agree with Whitedove that there's at least as much pressure to think with the group mentality here on GSC as there ever has been in TWI.

Interestingly, CRF is not tax exempt; their status is for profit. I heard that now if you're tax exempt you can't diss the govt. I also heard that the Rock Church lost their tax exempt status for that. John Hendricks didn't diss the govt overly much, but I remember him taking some pot shots at Bill Clinton a few times. As far as the accessibility of financial records goes, I don't HAVE to know anything about that to be comfortable in a fellowship. True, it could be argued that if a church is not faithful in that which is least (finances), then how can they be faithful in that which is much (taking care of God's people). But insisting on seeing the books right from the get go would send the message that you don't trust them. That would offend me if I was a church minister or administrator. Also, in 1984 or 85 TWI gave every twig cordo a "Public relations portfolio" which did disclose some financial info.

That texmex stuff sounds good.

Sex sells. Now THAT'S what I'd call a cult!

My AARP card came in handy when we went on vacation last year (10% discount on hotels) but, yeah. What's scarier: seeing my name on the card or looking in the mirror? Can't tell.

I've only been to 1 church that ever disclosed financial info to the 'rank and file'. They had a framed note right out in the lobby in full view of any and everyone. But it had even dollar figures for every place money was given to so you KNOW some of those things were bank accounts that one or more people had access to. When I fellowship with anybody I first determine if God is able to bless people in the place. Doesn't take long to determine that. I don't have to know everything that everybody does; I HAVE to give them the benefit of the doubt up to a point. ABS has been a non issue for me most of the time. There were times after we left TWI when we didn't ABS to anyone, and God still spit in our direction just like He always had before, so everything was cool, I guess. But if I have serious misgivings about a church or ministry, I'll just leave like we did CRF.
