Does God have emotions?
johniam replied to I Love Bagpipes's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
VP defined emotions as "the whole person liking and disliking" in his booklet on ethics the Lifestyle of the Believer. God certainly likes and dislikes doesn't He? God gave us emotions and uses that fact when communicating to us. Example: "I am a jealous God!" Whether or not God has emotions is not necessarily the issue. I think the issue is that God is not one of our peers. He's not subject to us, we're subject to Him. Our bosses have emotions. Do we constantly judge and criticize them for this or do we try to end up on the good side of them? Also, I disagree with Tina Turner. Love is not just a second hand emotion. God may dislike stuff about me, but he always loves me. -
Just click and hold the cursor down on the ball. Presently, a red hue will climb up the arrow. Let go of the mouse when you're ready to fire. The higher up the arrow the red hue is when you fire, the faster the ball will go. For lift, move the cursor upward as you're about to fire. Once you get it to cooperate skill will increase. Some levels require security blankets. For instance, level 6, where the bin is to the left, but further away from the printer than it is on level 3, I seem to have better results if I try to bounce it off the blinds above it. If I can hit further back on the blinds it always seems to bounce in the bin. Yet, on level 3 I have better luck aiming directly for the bin. Yes, there is a perverse joy to be had by damaging computers, glass, and anything else other than the bin.

Since leaving TWI in 1994 my family has fellowshipped with 5 TWI spinoffs and 1 church. I'm now in a spinoff, but I'm not afraid to go to a church. The church we went to for over a year is a Presbyterian church. Nice people. Very loving atmosphere. I guess the difference between now and TWI is that in TWI I felt like I was working for them more than they were working for me. Today it's the opposite.

I actually finished. Score - 176645. Rank 18201.

I've always thought that music that has been loved has an extra charge to it; a life of its own. I think that may transfer to instruments.

I can't get the one in the office on level 8.

Hey Bill, sorry if we got you in trouble.

Eccl. 5:3 - For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. -
That's a guitar strap? Slick! I must add that John Fogerty can play much better than when I saw him with Creedence in 1971. He did a heavy metal style intro to the song Keep on Chooglin'. He can play decent lead guitar now. Also, he was introduced by Bill Clinton. Not live, but on the screens on either side of the stage, there was Bill. I bet Clinton's the only president who ever did acid.

Hmmm. I did myself twice. The first time I put myself in normal mode. According to that, I die in 2025. The second time I put myself in optomistic mode. This change added 20 years to my life. Must be that law of believing.

I think Dot Matrix's account of speaking with Mrs. W on the motorcoach and Mrs. W bursting into tears is telling. Of course it bothered her (Mrs. W). All those people mentioned had to have a day of decision; whether to stay and hope the godly outweighed the ungodly, or leave and basically uproot their whole lives. The pressure must have been great. Only God could really judge their hearts.

What is that thing just below the sound hole? Is it a clamp of some sort that helps hold the instrument together?

Just saw them in concert. Nice. Each played for an hour and a half. Willie got right down to business. Very little space between songs. My wife is more familiar with his music. She casually mentioned a song called Whiskey River she hoped he'd play. It was the first song he did. He also did On the road again, Me and Bobby McGee, Good hearted woman, You were always on my mind, Blue eyes crying in the rain, and others I was unfamiliar with. He ended the show with I saw the light. John Fogerty had a totally different feel. I saw Creedence 35 years ago. This time it was LOUDDDDD. Like his music had taken steroids. I needed earplugs for Fogerty. He played great, but he acted like a rock star. Long guitar solos, didn't run songs into each other, said how are you doin?, you sound great, or I love you every few songs. 95% of his set was Creedence material though. He did Travelin' band, Green river, Who'll stop the rain, Born on the Bayou, It came out of the sky, Lookin' out my back door, Keep on chooglin', Ramble tamble, Have you ever seen the rain, Heard it through the grapevine, Down on the corner, Bad moon risin', Proud Mary, Center field, and a few more. Overall, it was a good show. Some young folks, mostly old people like me.

Ron's right; if you didn't see the big bang or if you didn't see a one celled amoeba evolve into something else, then you believe it because of your faith. Call it whatever you want. quote: Evolution has been observed both directly and indirectly. Yeah, Darwin observed evolution within a genus and that crab article is a form of evolution, but you science idolators need to prove to me that a minkey evolved into a man and that God did not create the heaven and the earth. Good luck.

Yeah, Bill was in Arkansas when Clinton was the guvernator. I bet Bill Sage would have interesting things to say about Clinton.

I'm pretty sure the dedication of the auditorium was on Uncle Harry sunday, which would have been March, about 2 months before VP died.

Science vs. God. Nice concept. Reminds me of Bambi meets Godzilla. Great flick.

Just this past weekend I was watching a baseball game and one of the commentators said it was a sure sign of trouble for a team if they had too many meetings.

quote: VPWiam--- err Johniam, Wordwolf DID show us all, and in very logical detail, where the double-standard lays ....... with you. Oh my God, we've got a WW apologist here. Who would've thought? I KNEW that somehow WW would end up asking me why the double standard. Same old same old one dimensional WW. But I noticed something. My post to WW took up 21 lines and 256 words. WW's reply to me took up 229 lines. No way I'm counting his words; I'd be here all night, but if 21 lines contain 256 words, then 229 lines prorates to 2315 words. I'd even be willing to cut the number in half because my posts read like straight prose while WW's read like poetry a lot. My point is this. According to WW I'm the "strawman" while he's the real deal. But my 256 word strawman was apparently so effective that it took the real deal certainly over 1000 words to make it right. Shouldn't the genuine article require less words with more impact? Shouldn't the strawman be the one with the excessive verbose BS? Doesn't it even say in scripture that a fool is known by a multitude of words? -
People don't like having their lives controlled by others. My mother went 7 years without having a regular physical check up when she was in her 70s. I thought that odd until I met more and more seniors like that. What's to stop a doctor from making a senior undergo multiple tests they don't really need and prescribing medication they don't really need just because they are seniors? Face it, some doctors are only in it for the money. They don't really care about what's best for people. There's a lot of seniors who want to keep their anonymity and independence as long as they can. Oops. This thread's about TWI, not old people. Silly me.

In other words, WW refuses to admit that he has a double standard even though it is in the sight of the sun. No surprise there. -

quote: He can and He did. In this case, He Himself chose as the instrument of His preservation, "those evil catholics." Common people not reading it is NOT how I would have handled it if asked. Why God Almighty elected to preserve it in this fashion-they're the ones that Martin Luther's texts ultimately came from- is not known to me. However, I would not seek to lecture Him on ways and means. Perhaps you should address Him directly on this one. I have a question for you, Wordwolf. Why the double standard??? On one hand you say that God chose the catholics to preserve His word, so no matter what evil they did; torturing and murdering people in the name of God, selling indulgences to people to "buy their deceased loved ones out of purgatory", and misrepresenting Christianity as salvation by works. Despite all that and more, I'm supposed to just let it slide because God needed them to preserve His word and all those people they killed or misled are just collateral damage and that's too bad. On the other hand you say that God didn't choose VP to preserve the truth of His word because of all the evil that VP did, even though he didn't kill or torture anybody and even though he correctly represented Christianity as salvation by grace, and he encouraged people to read the bible for themselves. I'm supposed to forget that and focus on all these accusations that were never brought before a court of law. Why the double standard??? -
Hmm. I used to know Bill Sage. Last time I saw him was at the last ROA I was at ('94). He was pleasant. He's porked out just like me.

I think Ross Tracy was a Methodist minister from Michigan. He travelled to HQ to see VP and what initially impressed him about VP was the way he dressed. Not like a typical minister. He took PFAL and was eventually forced out of his church and stood with TWI for years. I think Catcup referred to him earlier in this thread, that he is now back in good standing with the Methodist church. -
Oldies: Yeah. I remember you guys coming to Emporia, where I was taking the AC at the time. Did you hang with VP much? I was curious how his behavior was. He knew he had cancer and he was dead less than a year later. Sounds like a fun trip.
