  1. I guess baseball and soft ball aren't exactly "cricket" --> (someone had to say it)
  2. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=..._sports_dropped The 2012 Olympics in London will not have either baseball or softball. The Olympics in Beging in 2008 will still have baseball and softball.

    Wish me luck...

    Kewl!! Good luck :)--> I'm sure that you will do good!
  4. There are two things that must be understood... 1. Verbal agreements are made between two or more honorable parties and they seldom extend past the death of one of the parties that made the agreement. twi and vpw had no honor. vpw is dead. 2. When courts are involved, you need a "paper trail". Verbal agreements/contracts are very seldom enforceable in courts.

    Naming Names.

    Moderators, A quick word concerning some recently deleted posts and threads concerning a couple posters/friends. Thank you.
  6. Smurfette, The best reading to get past "way brain" thinking are; the text books from college courses that you could be taking. You could use the money you are saving by not giving it to twi :D-->
  7. Steve, Have a fantastic Bithday! :)-->
  8. Step 1: eat right step 2: exercise I strongly suggest that you talk with certified professional's for further instructions on steps 1 & 2. Rapid weight loss is not healthy!!!

    Leaded Coffee

    My first cup in the morning is at about 4:00 A.M. I am actually trying to cut down to about a half a pot a day... My day starts off with having my first cup on my recliner. My cat (Callie) soon joins me on my lap. At this point I think to myself, "life is good".
  11. One of the hardest things to admit for some people is to admit they were mistaken or fooled. For some to leave would be admitting that they have been living a lie for many years. For many years some of us had a heartfelt conviction to twi. For me, it was hard to admit to the truth about twi. I did not see much of the abuse that some here have experienced (just because you don't see it dosen't mean that it is not going on). It took this GS to learn what was going on.
  12. I have done the "morning" hike down Bright Angel trail. This is from the rim to where the restrooms are and back. I love going to the GC! Next time I go there I want to take one of the river trips. Anybody want to join me?
  13. Have a great Birthday!! :D--> from your evil twin -->
  14. While I was stationed in Germany, I visited the Dachou concentration camp. It is hard to describe the feelings that I had. The closest words would be extreme sorrow. I came to believe that there was such a thing as pure evil and I stood where it once thrived. The things that happened at those camps must not ever happen again.
  15. Have a GREAT Birthday!!
  16. I hope that you have a great Birthday! :)-->
  17. I guess what it might come down to eventually is... At some point potential employers will have to do some type of testing of H.S. grads to see if these grads can learn to do the job that these kids are applying for... Colleges have entrances exams, at some point employers will have entrance exams. I think that this is a reflection of what some people believe the quality of our HS grads are. I am sure that H.S. grads are taught to be politically correct. The question is how well do they read, write and do math?
  18. for lack of substantive information... Trying to use emotional scare tactics... Lets concider some facts... Sesame Street has been on for decades. Sesame Street has clothing and toy sales that are substansial. All the good programs could find a new home on either cable or network TV. If something is funded by the Government... Doesn't the government have control of that program? Of course they do!!! If people want quality and educational TV, they should petition the various stations and actually watch the programs...
  19. As our Army celebrates its 230th birthday this month, we pause to reflect on the selfless service and sacrifice of generations of Soldiers, civilian employees, and their families, all of whom epitomize the tenets of the Warrior Ethos: I will always place the mission first I will never accept defeat I will never quit I will never leave a fallen comrade The Warrior Ethos is the common thread that has tied us all together throughout 230 years of service to our Nation. Since 1775, American Soldiers have answered the call to duty. From Valley Forge to the battlefields of Gettysburg, the Argonne Forest, and the shores of Normandy; from the rice paddies of Korea and Vietnam to the mountains of Afghanistan and the streets of Baghdad, our military history is rich with the willingness of generation after generation to live by the Warrior Ethos. Soldiers serving the Nation today embody the Warrior Ethos. It is central to all that we do and all that we are. It is everything we stand for as Soldiers, Army civilians, and family members. It applies in the broadest sense, not just while in uniform and not just while in service to our country, but throughout our personal and professional lives. When we understand and live by the Warrior Ethos, it makes us better husbands and wives, better parents, better daughters and sons, and better citizens. When Soldiers--the centerpiece of our Army--and the civilian employees and family members who serve right along side them live by the Warrior Ethos, it gives us strength to maintain our commitment to freedom and to our way of life. America's sons and daughters who are answering the call to duty are engaged in the noblest work of life, protecting our Nation and enabling others to live free. To our Soldiers around the world, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families on this 230th Army birthday. We are proud of you and to serve with you. The Army and the Nation are grateful for your service and sacrifice. Thank you for answering the call to duty. Sincerely, Peter J. Schoomaker General, United States Army Chief of Staff Francis J. Harvey Secretary of the Army
  20. Or better yet... Public telivesion is viewer supported. If you enjoy public television, send funds to your public tv station. Or get scared into signing an online petition from a political action committee.
  21. Have a fantastic Birthday!! :)-->

    Pension

    I retired from the reserves and will receive a pension from that at age 60... I pay into social security The government has what is called "thrift savings plan" which I contribute to. I am paying additional priniciple on my house. I live in a "moderate" cost area, with home prices on the increase. One of the benies of working for the GOV is semi reasonable health insurance rates. We need to get rid of the "way brain" mentality of not having long range plans. What was implied was the Lord could come back at any moment, so lets live for the ministery, travel light, move the word etc... I believe that the Lord could come back at any moment, however he might not come back in my lifetime. Sometimes we might have to settle for a stable job with benies even if we might not like the job. Sometimes, you can find a job you enjoy and make a decent living at it. I know people who hate there job but need the benies... There are good and bad points about having your own business. And, everybody is different, so there are no "set" answers on what to do. There are no simple answers or choices...

    Sunday, Lunch in Texas

    Raf, If find yourself in Southern AZ, I would be happy to buy you lunch.
  24. Excellent question... Is God your sufficiency or is twi? Is God bigger than twi? Is John 3:16 as well as the rest of the Bible for people in twi only? Do you trust God more than twi?
