The only people 'worthless' are the ones that won't help. They are, indeed, worthless for helping you with your issue. As to why, I think we'll never know. It could be that the clergy in question was afraid, was uncomfortable with the situation, or was having a personal faith issue and doubted the benefit of prayer. This really brings up a bigger issue. How effective was TWI leadership at counseling and providing help and support to those who were less able and less fortunate than the rank-and-file paying followers? I'd say not. From VPW down, the philosophy was to take the class, read the books, read the Word and your problems would go away. This philosopy certainly maximized the cashflow to TWI, but it also neglected the whole concept of Christian charity and left lots of people behind. Add to that the fact that much of the latter leadership had neither the inclination or the born people skills needed for effective counseling. I realize all you asked for was prayer. Nonetheless, I think it all runs back the the same root. The lack of Christian charity and the inability/nondesire to help people outside of the TWI paradigm.

The 10,000 rpm Western Digital Raptor series SATA drives scream. I love them and are using them in a RAID 1 configuration (with a hardware 3ware RAID controller) for a couple of servers.

#4 #3 It's actually a recursive question. I wouldn't have saved so much because I wouldn't have made as much. But I acually wouldn't have *saved* anything because I would have paid it all.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I don't check this thread often. I'm a few minutes from Sac. You can reach me via email at owlmeat@hotmail.com I only check it every few days so be patient.

An issue mentioned on slashdot.org this morning was computer passwords. Yahoo will not give next-of-kin passwords. If you have accounts that you'd want your family to close or use, make a list of account/username/passwords and put it with your other important papers.

Does anyone know whether or not the charter or bylaws of TWI have ever been made public? It would be interesting to know exactly what it would take to change the president or the BOD.

Galen didn't always succeed with the work of the ministry either. My wife took a pfal class he ran and never graduated. Something I'm thankful to him for (: -
He's a gambler turned entertainer.

No, I'm not trying to communicate intelligently (rolls his eyes) I did think before I posted. Now it's your turn. Does it make sense to draw a comparison between a court of law and an anonymous forum? It means exactly what it says. If I wanted to know the truth about a man, I'd find him, make contact with him and ask him. Then I'd try to perceive whether or not he's telling the truth. Did this method ever occur to you? Did you even make the attempt to find his phone number? GreaseSpot is a resource, but not for finding the truth about a man. Many of the posters are honest and good people. A few may not be. Oftentimes the honest ones have to withhold information for various (and oftentimes good) reasons. So I highly doubt that you will get the *truth* that you seek. Finally, let me make this clear, I have no love for CG. Based on what I've read, I would have no desire whatsoever to contact him. My gripe is with your attitude towards and expectations of GS. Oh and BTW, your comments regarding BG to Paw are out of line. Paw walks a delicate balance between freedom of expression and the protection of the innocent. You don't know the *truth* concerning his motivations and responsibilities either.

You want the truth? Go hunt down Geer and spend some time with him. Read Passing of the Patriarch. Do you really believe that the way to find the truth about the man is to post the question on an anomymous forum? I hope you can handle the truth.

Sorry, you lost me. How do you know it's the truth?

I'm with Eagle. Only God knows the full picture on this one. I'm smart enough to know my own limitations.

One of the saddest things about this whole thing is the 'collateral damage'. I loved John Townsend and would walk through fire for him, both as the CA limb leader and the staff coordinator at HQ. He had the heart and love and knowledge of a great leader. I could say more but there would be no profit to it.

It certainly reminds me of the old joke... Q) Why couldn't Jesus be born in xxxx. A) They couldn't find 3 wise men and a virgin.

Really close to what I've come up with over the years. 409, Windex, green pad, handfull of bar towels (get them at Sam's Club, a bale for $12), toss them if they are real dirty, wash them otherwise. Use the Windex on the cloth, not the glass if it's not real dirty. I use Dr. Bronner's in the shower and it doesn't leave a soap scum.

No apology necessary. It looks like it might actually be an LA36. Externally, they both looked the same. I suspect it was photoshopped in from this picture.

I immediately recognized the printer as a DEC LA30, circa 1970 so I knew the picture was a fake. Great find with the sub picture.
