  1. Paw is right. Microsoft, despite their fascist product activation BS, is surprisingly cooperative if you have your story straight when you call in. I had *no* problems installing Win 2003 Enterprise, a very expensive piece of software, on another machine when I told them I was testing it on the first machine I activated it on. They happily gave me a new activation code. Years ago, they sent me a new Microsoft Office CD for about $5.00. I told them (the truth) that my floppies had become unreadable. No verification, no nothing.
  2. Is it possible to copy the *entire* desktop of one user to another in XP. I mean the background, the desktop shortcuts, the toolbars, etc. If so, how?
  3. I'd like to add that many of us who left early, spent years of of guilt and self-condemnation, still believing that we had walked away from the only true family of God. As Radar said, it's complicated... I suspect we should let God judge the hearts of men.

That's the right answer if the question was "What does the Scripture say I should do?" Or more specifically, "What does the NT Scripture say I should do?". IMHO, a given situation might indeed be handled differently in light of Paul's teachings than it would in the light of Christ's.

I hate to bring this up again. I think most Christians think "what would Paul do?"
  6. Definitely worse. Sometimes ok, sometimes so bad that I give up and come back later. BTW, I've seen a couple little glitches in the database as well. Once I posted to a thread, the post never appeared, but I was shown as the last poster on the top menu.
  7. Yesterday, The tie and crewcut seemed so far away.. Now the beta tape I have to play.. Oh, I've cleaned the house since yesterday... Suddenly, There's not half the twig there used to be. And all these way corps hanging over me. Oh their reproof came suddenly...
  8. Two words. Nikon D70. Here are some snapshots I took last weekend after a thunderstorm: --url removed-- email me if interested I used the point-and-shoot mode. I know the price is high, but it will be the last digital camera you will buy for a long time.
  9. Dot!!!!! Happy birthday.. We've missed you and I hope we don't have to wait for your next birthday to hear from you again. All the best, -jim
  10. That's enough to be a good daughter. I think I understand where you're coming from.

I heard that MRE stands for 'Meals Rejected by Ethiopia'
  12. Hammer, Dm and Uncle, I'd take it again if I could sit in the back of the class with you guys and a bottle of Southern Comfort... Fire Engine Red indeed...
  13. Hell no. It was all an adventure. Did you go out WOW that year and not come back with us?
  14. Alfa, Remember that ROA run we made in my red 68 Mustang? I believe you and I both dodged a few real and imagined cows going through Nevada the first night. You had come up with a 'shortcut' that had us in the middle of open range.
  15. Ha ha.... I get annoyed if anyone I'm working with isn't ready for a meeting 30 minutes before it starts. I get mildly upset when a movie or live performance doesn't start exactly on time. I habitually check the stage setups on TV and anywhere else I am. I cringe when someone blows into a microphone and asks if it's on. I make sure my nametag is on my right side.

    The irony of victory

    Good kid, good mom.
  17. Going to the bar in Minster was a periodic attitude check in the A/V department.
  18. How about the whole "genuine spiritual suspicion" thing? Was it supposed to be revelation? Or was it supposed to be 5-senses? Or something in between.... Whatever it was, it couldn't have been good.

    Hunter Thompson

He was 67 and lived more life than any 20 average people. We don't know anything about his health and quality of life. I'm going to assume he did the right thing for himself.
  20. Advanced Class '79. VPW announced that leadership went to Three Mile Island and prayed for the hydrogen bubble in the reactor to go down, and it did. Later reconstruction of the accident showed that there was no hydrogen bubble...

"Gracing out" An old TWI friend of mine recounted the following story... Driving in Virginia, in a VW van with no registration, no licence, and a bunch of empty beer bottles on the floor. Comes up over a hill and there's a state patrol traffic stop for license and registration and gets waved through without getting stopped...
  22. And all this time I thought dowsing was playing with devil spirits...
  23. Are they going to be charged for "gas released to the atmosphere" too?
  24. I registered and got back this email a couple weeks ago, username and password obscured for obvious reasons: I never posted or even looked at the website until today. Account was gone.
