Hills, Read The Cholesteral Myth. It's on the web. Personally, it would be a cold day in hell before I'd take a statin. And my cholesteral is 330.

Yawn. I have over $400,000 in equity in my house and owe about $80,000. I'd still renting if I followed their "guidelines" Scrw that.

I feel set free...

Mark, First of all, I am not at all comfortable with giving this level of advise to a person that I've probably never met. So keep that in mind and here goes. Don't do it unless you have money in the bank and a backup plan. The downsides are many. Your corporate culture and theirs are totally different. You will likely be resented for your attempts to bring order into the company. If things start to go downhill you *will* be made the fall guy for the downhillness. After all, if the developer gives management an ultimatum of keeping him or you, what do you think the choice will be? The job will require a tremendous amount of tact and diplomacy. The developer will feel a strong sense of ownership over his ideas and the company direction. Unless you can develop a strong level of trust and an almost subservient relationship with him, he will channel all his frustrations towards you. Not a nice place for you to be. At this point, first and foremost, you need to meet with the developer off-campus and alone and try to find out where his head is at. If you needs and wants you, it might work. If he treats you like an unwelcome dog, run away as fast as you can. If you can't read him, that's not a good sign either. You might ask how I know this stuff. I've been the developer in this situation at least twice in my career and I've run off the hired gun both times. Not necessarily something I'm proud of, but I can at least give you a heads up. In terms of compensation, you would not be out of line asking for some kind of stock option package. These days, companies don't give them away like they used to, but since the long-term success of the company would appear to be in your hands, it would be worth a try. Feel free to send me an email or PT if you'd like to share more details. Good luck.

It seems that there are at least three different groups of people here with diverging points of views. The first group served under Lynn in some capacity and feel that either they or others have been wronged by him. They are looking for a public debate with him and/or a public apology. The second group has connections with CES and feels that John is still a MOG and deserves some respect. The third group knows of John Lynn from his comedy skits and finds the whole thing, like his skits, somewhat amusing. I'm priviledged to be in the third group.

I wonder if he rolled his eyes after he typed "bless you".

Very nice. Thanks. Speaking of nice stories, when you gonna tell us another one Matilda?

Welcome Xena. Damn right about knowing zero. I've been out and married for the same amount of time, about 20 years. If I had taken their advise, I'd surely be divorced by now. A man and woman can live together happily while treating each other as equals. At least most of the time (:

I disagree. People can love people for the wrong reasons. An abused child sometimes shows more love towards the abusive parent, wanting his/her favor. I don't know the true measure of a man, unless it's the sum of the good he's done in his life minus the evil he's done. Sorry for the derailment.

Sorta what I said, except with lots of words. I won't follow him, but I'll let God judge his heart.

Glad you got what you want. Pagemaker is one of those programs that you develop a love/hate relationship with. Better than Word, but very frustrating to work with. We're going to take a look at Adobe Creative Suite one of these days...

I tend to agree with ex10. I certainly have no need for an organization like CES in my life. I don't know John's heart, but I'm willing to let God sort it out. Not my place to judge.

Thanks but no. A man's got to know his limitations.

Yesterday, I changed the master cylinder on my daughter's car. Last night I had dinner with her and we talked of life, relationships, and our love of music. Today I waxed my 6 year old Subaru, cut the front lawn and raked the leaves in the back yard. The car looks brand new and the yards are nice and my daughter's car is safe to drive. All little things. But you know what, I'm happy enough about these things that I wanted to post something. I'm happy that I'm still heathy enough to to do them and that I'm able to step back and be proud of my work. Life is good.

Sorry, I've been sidetracked lately. I'll look at it again soon and let you know.

I think you have to make a booklet and assign it properties like "perfect bound" or something. If you like, I'll check on it Monday when I'll have the computer at work in front of me. I know we did this or something similar with our first user's manual.

Thanks Cindy. I just signed up on the local freecycle board and offered 3 gallons of Thompson's waterseal that I've been meaning to haul to the toxics dropoff for years. Hope it works.

I read it and my wife read it. Her response - "It just says to let him have his way" Needless to say, it wasn't much use in our marriage.

Yeah. I'm having some multitasking contention issues :)-->

I tried it last week, per Microsoft's online support and it didn't work. I must have done something wrong. I'll try it again. Thanks.
