It's not a construction loan. My understanding is that a construction loan is a short-term loan used to finance the construction of a new building. After the building is complete, the loan is due. The 'owner' then takes out a conventional long-term mortgage and uses that to pay off the construction loan.

A big echo of what everyone else said. On top of that, I'm finally at the point where I don't *need* to know whether there were 2 or 4 crucified or whether it was God the Son or the Son of God. I've searched enough and I don't want to search anymore. I've come to grips with the fact that I'm not a particularly religious person, but that I can still try to be a good person.

Simple. Don't worry about it too much. This is what works in California, 2 years of transferable community college work followed by 2 years of state college. Community college is more expensive than it used to be, but it's still dirt cheap for what you get. My daughter does a full schedule at the local community college and still has time to manages a toy store and live in her own apartment with 2 of her friends. We pay for her books and fees and it runs about $300 per semister. Things will get more expensive when she starts her junior year at a 4 year college, but we will still be able to help her out of our household budget. We stashed some money for her education, but it appears not to be needed. Now if your kid has his/her heart set on 10 years of premed and Harvard medical school, this plan obviously won't work. Have the kid take a loan.

Like I'd trust tax advice from a sawmill worker. Not that I have anything against a sawmill worker. I've known plenty of them, growing up in the "north woods". You ask them about grain, warpage, water content and cheap American beer. But not tax advice.

I've been there too Galen. My neighbor directly across the street knocked on my door one evening. He was sobbing uncontrollably and said his wife had just served him papers. As we men grow older, the need for nocternal bathroom visits increase. If the toilet lid is left in the down position, and we feel the call of nature in the night, the possiblility that we will sit down while simultaneously pressing our *cough* member downward will cause us to *cough* "sit on our dick". Sort of the female equivilent of "tit in the wringer". Not good for anyone.

If you have a really strong magnet, like out of a disk drive, it will stick to the nails under the wallboard. The nails are driven into the stud and you've found it. There's always the danger that you'll miss the stud, or worse, just hit the edge of it. I always drill a tiny hole first. If it hits the stud, you'll feel it start to work harder and see sawdust when you pull it out. If it misses, a little hole is easy to patch, just a dab of white toothpaste, if the wall is white.

HCW, In my humble opinion, your last post was out of line. This is neither a Christian forum and nor is it a place for good ole reproof and correction. It is an open discussion forum. If you want to discuss judgement, people's standing before God, and His Word as it hasn't been taught for centuries, take it to the Doctrine forum. John has been repeatedly asked to come, talk about what he's doing and answer questions about his ministry. He declines. *IF* we would have questioned VPW's and LCM's ministry, we would have saved ourselves years of our lives and the guilt of knowing we followed and supported preachers with feet of clay. So if John's image has been tarnished, and his integrity questioned, let him step forward and answer to his accusers. That's a damn sight more generous than what some corps suffered at his hand, from what I've read.
