    twi's toilet paper

Many of us have worked on staff ourselves, felt the scratchy toilet paper and been aware of the triple standard that existed between the minions, Cabinet and BOT. A pain in the _ass in more ways than one.

    twi's toilet paper

Maybe they should try using their left hand.
  3. The bittorrent is available on piratebay.org. I'm not going to give any more details than that. I don't have time to read it myself, at least not tonight.

    Snooty Pans

I'm not picky about much in the kitchen, but I can appreciate a good knife along with sharpening stones within hand's reach. My favorite frying pan is an old beat-up T-Fal teflon pan. My wife has nicer ones, but they don't work as well for me.
  5. I believe the IRS code requires that defunct not-for-profit corporation must transfer its property to another similar not-for-profit. There's no mechanism for the organization to gift it to the founders or any other individuals.
  6. I think I can say with some certainty that they are hoping and praying for... "The Decade of Prevailing 501c Status"

    I soloed today

I haven't spoken about it before, but my wife and I bought an airplane and are taking flying lessons. Today I soloed, pretty much the foundational class "speaking in tongues" part of flying. It's been a lot harder than I expected, the hardest self-disciplined learning I've ever had to do. Frank C, if you're reading this, thanks for the right seat time in Acts 2 and showing me how a pro does a crosswind landing. You were the best. Here's the story for anyone interested in flying... The weather was hot, winds were zero to 7 or 8 knots gusting in a quartering crosswind and the pattern was busy with a mix of small planes and corporate jets. We did three touch and go's and my instructor asked if I thought I could land my plane without breaking it. I said I was pretty sure I could. He got out and told me to give him three touch and goes. I taxied out and flew a nice takeoff, pattern and crosswind landing. Wing down towards the wind, nice flair, windward gear squeaks down, leeward gear squeaks down, hold the nose up, nose gently touches. Wow, all I have to do is do that two more times. The next time around everything is fine until I start settling into the flair. A gust of wind yaws me about 20 degrees to the left, I don't have the confidence to get her straightened out before she touches down. Full throttle and climb out without incident. I go around again and get set up on final. Everything looks fine, I'm about three or four feet over the runway and all of a sudden I balloon up to 10 or 15 feet with the nose high. The controls feel real loose so I give her full throttle and go around again. Third time around is a charm. There's a Citation jet sitting at the other side of the field waiting to make a downwind takeoff. I tell him I'm a student flying his solo and ask his patience. He says take your time. This time everything comes together. The wind settles down while I'm in the flair and I touch earth with a minimum of fuss. The Citation driver complemented me on my landing. I pick up my instructor and we go to the lounge to do the paperwork. Big thanks my main instuctor, Bill B*rd*n, my "crosswind coach" instructor David G*ll, John D*nh*m, who took my money and delivered my dream, his brother Tom and AWelectric, who both gave me encouragement when I really needed it, everyone here at ctflyer.com who let me know I wasn't alone, and most of all, my wife, who let me spend our money on my dream and now shares it with me. -jim
  8. Speaking of tacky weddings, anyone get married in the BRC at HQ? I can remember those weird trellises they would set up for weddings.... Didn't they have some script at the top or something?
  9. The babes. Yeah, you know who you were... The babes and Del Duncan.

Paris in for a 2 weeks?

    Yeah, pretty much.
  13. I'm not sure my prayers would do any good, but if you ever need to talk to someone who can keep his mouth shut, I'll listen. I've had my own company for years and have a tiny bit of experience in this sort of stuff. PM me if you want my email or phone number.
  14. I don't mind tent dresses as long as the women are performing good Bluegrass http://flatmountaingirls.com/images/string...-2006/index.htm
  15. Don't do that, you'll have to buy it a briefcase.
  16. I've had a little experience here... Mormons - Any public communications that disagree with the written doctrine of the church or church leadership can get you hauled before a "Bishop's Court" aka "Court of Love". From there, you can be charged as an apostate and disfellowshipped or excommunicated. Local Church aka Recovery Movement - Only went to one meeting and that through trickery. Many of the people sneered at traditional Christianity and believed that they were the only true Christian religion. In that respect it felt very much like TWI. Could have just been those people, but that's all I have to go on. Unitarian - My family and I had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving diner with a Unitarian seminary student and a Unitarian minister. The minster shocked me when he said that they don't talk about God much because the athiests get upset. Community Presbyterian Church - They spend days and days going over the smallest issue with "prayerful consideration" It's a wonder anything gets done. Islam - Believe it or not, they have more learning and better arguments to justify their faith than most Christians. I like the Muslims in my community a lot and have been welcomed to their religious celebrations. OTOH, I am in no danger of being converted.

  19. I feel your pain. One of my employees just went through a $3000 operation on his dog. Here's to a quick recovery, both to you and the dog.
  20. Yeah, and that Bach was possessed, my favorite bit of TWI music BS.
  21. I've not mentioned this before because I've never been able to verify it, but I'll bring it up now since it dovetails so well with what you are saying. I was casually watching a History Channel a few years ago and was jolted to attention when the narrator referred to a Nazi group as "The research and teaching ministry of the Third Reich". I'd sure like to find another reference to it....
  22. http://www.theway.org/Current/Pentecost/Fl...ecostFlash2.htm What's with the bad synth? I remember Steve Abella coming back from a TWI music workshop and telling us that electronic music was not acceptable. He seemed amused when I told him that the Hammond organ that Rhoda played was technically a synthesizer. I guess I won't be going back any time soon for the music.
  23. I have to point out one extremely significant difference between military training and TWI training. The military values the people it trains. Any military leader that subjected his people to the abuse those LEAD poeple suffered would have been court-martialed. Even lowly boot camp trainees get 6 hours of sleep and 3 hot, hearty meals during most of their training. I just don't understand where these TWI training programs came from. The training seemed to either scar or make nazis.
