Vic the grandson kicks off new waycorps program
Jim replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
I'm born again and I replaced two toilets last week. Does that count? Wait a minute, I already have a real job and I don't like replacing toilets. Nevermind. -
Yeah. We had a pair of Ford Tauruses (Tauri?) They were quite reasonable cars except for the 70,000 mile transmission and the peeling paint. The transmission could have been fixed at the design stage for about $5. Instead it cost us $1400 x 2. The paint would have been fine except that Ford experimented with omitting the primer that year. When the paint got so bad that the cops were eyeballing me every time I went by them, it was time for a new car. Now we own 3 Subarus. They are good, reliable cars. With AWD and decent tires, they will take you anywhere their ground clearance will allow.

Who needs a bowl of familia with fig pep and extra flax seeds when you can have a plate of cold millet and a cup of well water.

Sigh. Taking PFAL and speaking in tongues is no guarantee that 30 years later a person might not have a different point of reference and belief system. I sure do. The great thing about GS is that we can all still pretty much get along. If you *need* to have a Christian forum to talk about your issues, this prolly isn't it. OTOH, there are some extremely wise and knowledgeable people here that generously give of their time helping others. Your call.

He told me back in '80 that he didn't ever want to work anywhere but HQ. I also think that he is not quite so competent as he looks. He was very good at organizational skills, recognizing and using skilled workers and playing HQ politics. His actual audio and video production abilities seemed dry, textbook and uncreative. And I told him not to go with Betamax and he didn't listen :) His personality and management style would probably not be successful in the private sector. A better fit for him would be career soldier. I think there's some real deep insecurity going on with him and that he desperately needs the structure of HQ and the feeling that he's doing God's will.

Watered, you brought back some memories I hadn't had for years. I was in Neu Ulm Germany, 579th Ordnance company, US Army, Christmas '72. I got a package of homemade peanut brittle and peanut butter cookies from my mom. Better than any ham and mashed potatoes Christmas dinner. Thanks for the reminder of simple things...

Any way to show a link on the "lo-fi" version. That's where I spend all my time unless I'm actually posting.

I drive a Subaru, made in Indiana.

I can't help you directly, but the first thing that occurred to me is the wealth of museums you have in Chicago. Also Boeing has it's corporate headquarters in your city and might be willing to help. They are one of the few companies that is still doing very well these days.

It also reminded me of what a beautiful and classy woman Murphy was. I hope she's found some happiness and success over the years.

And I've come to the conclusion that that's neither bad nor unusual.

Thanks for the coffee spew...

Never saw a weapon in public, never was aware of anyone carrying. I did go to one "old boys" meeting in the barn at HQ. Anyone on staff was invited to join the informal shooters club that met in the barn near where VPW's bikes were stored. We could use the makeshift range at one of the outlying Way farms, maybe the Kip farm, and some reloading equipment in the barn. I have to admit that I was probably responsible for at least 3 believers becoming firearm owners. As I've posted before, I used to be a fairly avid shooter. I grew up around guns and have had weapons training and experience in the military.

So his birthday is the first Tuesday after the first Monday of every November? Election Day

I wonder if she's watched any of the videos on their website? Call me shallow and uncommitted, but that would be enough to keep me away.

Maybe a book deal... That would be interesting.

Click on this link, scroll down to nearly the bottom, and look at the image on the right. Is that Rosy? The reason I ask is that Joe Coulter's recommendation of the company is on the left.

From the second video... Seth, are you even listening to this stuff before you post it? The above statement is absolutely absurd. Do you know how much it costs to do something as simple as install a sewer pipe underground? I do. Six hundred dollars per foot. Yeah. And you want to build whole new cities from the ground up. I challenge you to produce a rigorous financial analysis, including cost of money, of the above statement. If you can't, then maybe you ought to stop posting these deceptive videos.

It doesn't take The Amazing Kreskin to predict that TWI will never again endorse a political party or person. With 40 million dollars at stake, TWI can't afford to break any IRS rules.

Dillon?

Just thought I'd throw that out and see if it sticks to anything...

Everybody's gotta believe in something... I believe I'll have another beer.
