OMG Tommy Strange...I finally got my priorities in order and read the entire thread. NOW I understand why you brought this thread back...LarryP2's posts are the gold standard by which all posts must be judged, and judge we must. Why, where has this poster gone? If only he had time to visit the cafe again...I can hope, can't I?

I really enjoyed that, Pipes. You write so beautifully. Hugs to you!

Ah HA!!! You've seen Borat, yet you haven't given your opinion in the Gallery/Reading Room place? That shows us where your heart is. As for telling this message again...reminds me of a song. Like to hear it? Here it goes... Tell it again, for someone needs it Tell it again Tell it again, till someone heeds it Tell it again There's no other story to bring men to glory So tell it, and tell it, and tell it again.

Tom, can you give me just one good reason why you're here digging up old threads when you could be at the movies seeing Borat? Priorities, man...priorities!

Belle, thanks so much for posting these assignments. I was sorry to see Gary and Valerie Livedal*n's names on there. Paw, she's the one from RI whose name I was trying to remember. We knew them way back in our late-70's Colorado days. He had a sister who I believe also went in the corps, but I don't have a clue which corps any of them were in. And Johniam, I'm betting McFadden would be the likely candidate to rise to the top of the turd pile of leadership.

Oh no! Who stole Jonny's "ng?"

Had to go make a deposit…now what are you guys talking about? or I’m downloading this thread to my Off-Site Storage Unit!

...did I hear a pin drop? Wait now the crickets are chirping... Oh, look a tumbleweed is rolling by. Seth, this deserves a guffaw!

And I could play possum! (Sorry...couldn't resist)!

Templelady, I forgot to thank you for the outrageous reindeer sausage you brought...it was wonderful! We enjoyed it Saturday night with the brisket and Sunday morning for breakfast. Twinky, I noticed on the regular Texas thread that you mentioned spare ribs. The barbeque wasn't ribs but slow-smoked beef brisket from a place close to where T-Bone and I live called Hammer's BBQ. They got to slave over the hot smoker and all we had to do was pick them up!

What a hoot! The ex10's were such wonderful hosts...thank you guys so much! Cheesecake? 1 (run) lemon 2 (zoo) chocolate 3 (tree) cherry (sorry, RR...that dooj can cook!) Excath, it was so good to hear your voice on the phone...that made my night! Krys, what a beautiful gesture to send those fancy-schmancy caramel apples to all of us...thank you. Paw, thanks for the t-shirts...they're awesome! Bagpipes, you are just cooler n' hell. And Strangeone, I'm hearing that Twilight Zone music in my head knowing that in our pre-twi days we were at maaaaaany of the same concerts...brothers and sisters in the purple haze! All the rest of you wonderful greasespots and spouses and moms of greasespots...it was a joy to meet all of you.

...(((sogwap))). Here, sit by me...can I get you an Irish coffee? Our wow family had a lot of fun with that book not just because of the drawings but also because of the personalities represented. Like that little blob that seemed to be laying around every time she/he got a chance. Oh, and the one who seemed a bit difficult...telling everyone all the things he/she doesn't like. For some of us, going wow was the first time we had to live with people we didn't choose and didn't necessasarily like. Some had never lived away from mom and dad, so the whole thing made for an "interesting" mix. Part of what we found so humorous was the contrast of the ideal portrayed by the booklet and the harsh reality of living in poverty, trying to get along with people who had only PFAL in common, and the danger of trying to witness in Malcom X park without getting mugged.

You bring alot of warmth and fun to the cafe...sure hope you have a happy birthday!

Hey K2000, I pm'd you back. I wasn't a wow in Baltimore, but in DC. We weren't allowed to cross the borders of DC without special permission, and this was one of three times that year that I remember we were allowed to leave. More on that later...gotta get back to work.

Hey, can I go see Borat with you guys? I'll bring some brownies!
-
Suda I'm sorry to hear you guys won't be able to come to the bbq but I understand about you needing to be with Laddie and I'm glad to hear he's healing up. Our doggies are members our family, too. As far as the Ole Miss game goes...good luck to them as long as they're not playing a Texas team.

A big thanks from me to T-Bone for scanning and loading the wow handbook "art"... I don't have the knowledge or patience to do it. (And thanks for the 's on the WOW blobs). Toppy that car is a riot...I was looking for the green bumper sticker that holds it together. And Kevlar, That reminds me of when VP came to Baltimore to visit all the area wows in January of that year, each family was told to make posters to bless the mog. The night before the meeting, the family coordinator and I got slap-happy from staying up so late working on them. We made one that said "Bless Your Friggin' Heart", but we didn't have the nerve to show it.We sure laughed our a$$es off though.
