Its St Patricks Day The Foggy Dew As down the glen one Easter morn to a city fair rode I There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by No fife did hum nor battle drum did sound it's dread tatoo But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang out through the foggy dew Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war 'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar And from the plains of Royal Meath strong men came hurrying through While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew 'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go that small nations might be free But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves or the shore of the Great North Sea Oh, had they died by Pearse's side or fought with Cathal Brugha Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell rang mournfully and clear For those who died that Eastertide in the springing of the year And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more But to and fro in my dreams I go and I'd kneel and pray for you, For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.

Thank You Oak, thats exactly what i meant-- Anyone can talk--and they do-----Your life and what you do say way more than your words will ever say. If someone indeed has some 'special connection' it will eventually be apparent ---by their fruits you shall know them...

Thanks for the heads up. I enjoyably left this stratosphere many times in the 70's with RTF. They are coming to my area in August with the Flecktones. I'll be getting my flightsuit ready

i find it surprising. In my experience -- especially just post way in a few offshoots, near everyone I ran into wanted to cast out some spirit or another. Some of them were really wierd--the spirit of coughing, another time the spirit of nicotine. It seemed (especially postway)like they were always coming up with a new one to cast out of me... They tried a bunch of times for a bunch of different things--nothing changed. I still smoke, I still occasionally cough and i still do alot of other things that are also a matter of my choice and not some unseen dark force It took me awhile to unravel way doctrine and realize that it was all a whole hatful of lunacy(duh) and they needed to go sell crazy someplace else

I dont remember anything that they were suppose to trigger except 8/gate--I have a rabbit smoking a joint next to a railroad gate--because we are joint hares

That certainly was the icing on the cake. I was too young and too inexperienced to be able to question it at the time-so I bought in to it..(especially with the network of urban legends and myths about him that were running throughout the ministry....) which did validate what he taught. It really is a keystone to way theology, without that he is just another all over the map preacher who makes sense sometime and other times is too outlandish to consider If I had known then what I know now, THAT would have stuck out like a sore thumb and I would realize that "hearing voices" either signifies a mental illness or other deep trauma and wouldve put VP in the category of 'needing help' as opposed to being someone to follow. Whether he made it up or had a genuine psychotic break that he interpretted as a message from God, I cant say for sure. But I think he actually believed it, so Im inclined to think that something traumatic happened that imbalanced him toward the bizarre, such as his obsession with devil spirits, conspiracy theories and distrust of anyone 'outside'. It really is an incredibly bizarre claim, the only other place I have ever heard anyone say it is in psychiatric wards, which people are at least smart enough to realize that its not real, but a trick of a malfunctioning mind, and they need some help. Its an even more bizarre claim to believe but without it way doctrine topples or at least can be seen for the shizophrenic mish mosh that it is and produces

Its no secret, at least to me that the Red Sox probably wont jump out to a large lead like they did last year ( of course who really knows anything?), not only is there a bunch of bizarre flights and time zone changes right off the bat and spring training being cut short...but also their first month and a half will be the toughest part of the schedule for the year. Tigers, Yanks, Cleveland, Yanks again, Angels and then the Tigers again-all right in a row... Its always wait and see, anything can happen, but with Schilling and now Beckett also hurt, I'll be thankful for them to stay close during April-May and hopefully stay/get healthy for the long haul. Bartolo Colon could be an important pickup---hopefully he will bounce back from his injuries and have a good year as a starter...as the 6th or 7th guy.. Crazy 08 is a great book Ive laughed out loud several times already.... As far as the trophies --the are pretty much on perpetual tour as a thank you to the fans... after 04, that trophy eventually made an appearance in every town in New England and other places ( Iraq, California, Dominican Republic etc..)..whereever a request was put in...hospitals, schools, bars, Boys Clubs. Town halls...anywhere there were Red Sox fans ..... The 07 one gets around too, although it is a little more subdued It was at the White House a week or so ago and it has been on a tour most of the winter....I rarely hear of them both being out together though....They were at the local High School for 6 hours yesterday. About 10,000 people showed up over that time before they moved them on to another town. There were alot of children, families, grandfatherly types, couples and others all decked out in their game gear who all had the opportunity to spend alittle time and get their photos taken-everyone had the same silly grin I did......I'll be getting alot of Christmas Cards next year with happy families surrounding the trophies.

...of course we have never done anything beneficial for society either...we dont build hospitals or schools , support the arts or engage in social projects---not so much as one Habitat for Humanity house, or nickel to a homeless shelter or soup kitchen---BUT we will take your money, control your life and when its time for you to leave we will make sure that we let all your 'friends' know that your are pozest.

congratulations to your friend! great piece of music and some valuable lessons.. HERE is yet another version of the same song. Interestingly the video starts with one of the performers also talking about teamwork. This one brings in people from all over the world...drums from India, steel drums from jamaica, a sax, bassoon, fife, banjo, electonic drums and odd instrument configurations ...teaming together for a jazzier version.. I wonder if William Stepp while working out his version of Bonaparte's Retreat years ago realized how far his little simple yet beautiful piece would go....and how it would bring people together... thanks for posting

I saw a picture of him a week or so ago playing for the Snakes. I wish him well. He's the quintessential dirtdog and always plays hard no matter the circumstance even if he has to sacrifice his body to do it. The amount of injuries he has had playing that way has probably shortened his career but there is something right about watching someone play who is never afraid to get dirty and play hard... Like I said I wish him well.... Even if his playing time is short he will bring alot to the young DBacks, ---good move by Josh Byrnes and the front office...

VG question--- For me there are good words ...very good words---excellent words, whose authentic meaning was soured by my association with the way International....Faith---Love....Its unfortuante but true...the concepts I can occasionally grasp.. but am jaded to reach for that new bottle of wine because the souredness of the old wine at times leaves me a bit gunshy....The 'old meaning' i know was not an accurate portrayal of what those words genuinely represent.... still any bottle, even a new bottle with that label makes me look hard and look twice or three times before I partake-if I partake at all. I have tossed out the old meaning--but in words difficult to define or redefine and also subject to so many interpretations, usages and misuages I have yet to find universal definitions or meanings attached to the words that consistantly appeals to my palate. Its a rare thing--like that finest glass of wine when you finally find it

He kept rambling on about "truth" while telling us tall tales...what a joke...maybe I should have walked down the aisle and kicked him...and you know where

I was 'up all night leaning on my windowsill' and thought of this song. Sorry for the low quality of the vid, but I am partial to this version by David Bromberg and its all I could find.. It takes a lot to laugh, it takes a train to cry..

Thankfully not while I am batting i havent I suppose its some type of Pedro Martinez meditation thingy--I wouldnt get in the batters box if he was doing that--Ive never seen a pitcher do that The Red Sox do have a guy from Japan, Hideki Okajima, who has an odd pitching motion and looks at the ground as he releases the pitch --very strange looking --but he has great control and is good with it...that is the closest Ive seen
