Im hearing Bay now going to Tampa-- Where the heck is Jr gonna play in Chicago? They have Thome DHing and and Carlos Quentin and Jermaine Dye at Corner Outfielders.. pleasant predicament for Ozzie.... ............... Everyones improving --nothing from the Sox yet---and they're playing their worst baseball of the year.....
-
Yea its beyond the line of antics --Im convinced Boras got in his very suggestable head and pushed him over the edge. Manny was always a great ballplayer but never really seemed to think of himself as anyone special. I know that he knew he was good but when he hit the 500HR plateau afew months back something (fed by Boras) went over the edge. I just want this day to be over

Im sad this morning----I have a hard time believing that I may have just watched Manny's last game with the Sox ....and its going to end ugly.. Over the last 8 years, he reignited my passion for baseball like I hadnt known since I was a kid and became my favorite player to watch not only in this era -- but ever--iI know im a Manny apologist and fan but it shouldnt end this way--it is sad I smell Boras (the daimon) behind the scenes pulling manny's strings...I really do. Ive said a thousand times over the years that Manny in many ways is like a child. Ive been his apologist. He acts strange, he acts goofy he makes up his own rules, he gets easily swept up in strange ideas for alittle while then comes back---but he has never been outright malicious or done anything this outlandish before. I have no doubt Boras is pushing the buttons and stirring this up . Manny's a touch crazy but hes not malicious. ......... Its such a damn distraction...the Red Sox have other complex needs besdies this- Rumor is a 3 or 4 way deal is in the works -then maybe side deals based on those... Today would be a good day for some group to make a documentary following all the GM's around minute by minute 24 style so we could see the inside on the decision making process (plus the deals that didnt happen)... 8 and half more hours ---------------------- Is this my last Manny Moment?

Manny may have broke the camels back just now In an interview he said that the "Red Sox dont deserve me" and then sat in the dugout during the game with a sign that said "Im being traded to Green Bay for Brett Favre" The thing I just found out that I didnt know was that over the All Star Break Manny met with Toms favorite antichrist Scott M(*&^%%F&^%$g Bora$--which is right when all this trade and 'being mistreated' crap started up. Suddenly It all makes sense now... I really really hate that guy.. There are a million rumors going around ---latest from alot of sources has Manny going to the Marlins, Jeremy Hermida going to the Pirates and Jason Bay coming to the Sox--with a whole bunch of secondary parts and prospects going every which way. Manny has been too much fun for too many years, it will really sukc if this ends like a bad and nasty divorce because of some complete craphead like Boras

As much as Manny is unpopular right now with some Sox fans I dont think the FO will let him go--unless it was in some genuine way to upgrade for this year which would be a very hard thing to do losing his bat. Even though the annual act is wearing thin Manny is still hugely popular in most circles.--If the front office were to trade him-and not make it a definitively better team now-and he went on a tear somewhere else--It could negatively effect the franchise more than putting up with him for another few months. Its a real tough call... Im pretty sure he'd love to be back with Pedro but I dont think anythings gonna happen. But of course Yogis well worn phrase is still ringin in my ears... Theres no way of knowing until it happens ...and as far as Farnsworth the yanks could have J.J. Putz in their sights for all I know to fill the gap
-
that one could backfire imo----- Farnsworth has been great in the setup role for Mariano, and Molina has been an excellent defensive catcher for the Yanks.. I suppose if you have a chance to pick up Pudge you do--but sacrificing your set up man is a big key to give up ---even if you do get someone proven like him.... A mild offensive upgrade for your key set up guy? I dunno----thats a real tough call--Id think two three or ten times before id do it
-
The Angels are tough but they have a few in thier decline years (noticably Vlad) and from what I hear not a lot in the hole... If the Rangers play this out right for good young prospects and keep the core veterans together they'll be a force in the west very very soon........ ...and... anybody with a name like Boof Bonser definitely should have their own cartoon show

For the most part Ive been staying away from those arguments for years because they always seem to descend into circular logic and reasoning that go nowhere except toward frustration for people that are trying to talk sense to the situation. Certainly people in all walks of life fall short, but most people dont go building religions and religious organizations to hide their acts behind either. What if Wierwille and Martindale werent phony celebrities but....were clerks at Home Depot ..who were serial predators--what then? would it be the same dont be judgmental attitude? I wonder if the "who are we to judge ' people have as much of this 'love' for the predator that lives in their very own neighborhood right now. Do they go rushing in to his defense every time a teenage girl say they have been drugged, raped and abused-after it has happened several times saying --"o well-- everyone falls short"? <_<

It'll be a new situation for Tex--This trade is for a ring-- The Angels could coast into the playoffs without him. This trade is for just a handful of key playoff at bats where they need that big bat. Sciosia has a few months...I would hope that any personality issues that Texiera may have could get set aside for a few moments when what could be a once in his lifetime opportunity knocks on his door-- like it is now--hopefully it shouldnt take Dr Freud to get through to him...
-
Good to see you're still typing-- I dont know exactly who the 'prospect' was, but Kotchman is linked to a multiyear deal and Tex of course is a rental--so maybe it will work for both clubs....The Braves might have done a little better if they waited but they did OK and got it done... The Angels just moved from very very good, to scary good....aside from all the other strengths in their game-- Lackey came within two outs of throwing the first no hitter against the Sox at Fenway in 50 years last night. I know anything can happen, (and usually does) but after watching them dominate every facet in two series over the last few weeks and great managing by Mike Sciosia--on paper at least they are the team to beat. Playoffs of course are a crapshoot where you never know--but they are strong--real strong
-
Yes yes yes <_< they had a phony article in the Globe today to trade Manny for someone with stronger bat--someone like ---David Murphy.... I heard about the Kotchman/ Teixiera trade a few hours ago---The Angels are already very tough without upgrading. Theyve been playing exciting baseball in a lot of areas--(they pulled a beautifully executed squeeze last night)at this pointTex puts em way over the top imo and makes em the favorite
-
This is always an interesting time of year--48 hours and we'll know for sure. Im almost of the opinion the Sox should pack it in this year--(I said almost) ...too much coasting for the last month or so...unless something turns around ala 04 after the Nomar trade its not going to happen this year Hiway--tell us your OK--A little shaken but not stirred would be good news I do enjoy firm ground myself although the hail around here has been near biblical this year
-
o good a little remodeling.... Heres a sign you can hang at the front door if you want... Its pretty much all encompassing...

Oddly I just read THIS STORY in todays paper. TWI arent the only complete nutjobs around So in Texas anyway--its perfectly acceptable if you pin a 17 year old girl to the ground and beat the krap out of her as long as you do it in a religious context'

Glad to see that youve found important uses for your new computer!! :) Im gonna have to be careful -----the screen may end up out the window soon.......

Glad you like it--I've been catching a series on one of the ESPNs --Baseballs Golden Age (or some such thing) which is reliving most of my days of youth--if yu have achance to catch it I know that will tickle you as well. I have one of those horrible summer flus, which is killin me today (Im not quite as hot as Toms house --but up there). Im just a little delirious-- I had tickets to the Monday Night ESPN Game tonight Sox vs Angels...but was not feeling up to five hour ride.... I gave em to my faithful (8 years) breakfast waitress Heather yesterday It was a great scene at the restaurant. If you see a cute blond with pigtails goin crazy tonight --thats probably her. As much as I'd like to be there, it feels good that someone got them who appreciates them

No doubt he was unstable but reports now state that it was not a random actTHIS story says he targeted the church because of "their liberal views" .Id be all for working to end terrorism in THIS country

It was told to me many times like Belle --- I probably am-- Although as I got out of TWI and began to look around and found that most people who see and claim there are devils are generally not the mentally or emotionnally most stable people in town -- It didnt effect me anymore.. i still hear it every once in awhile at the shelter I volunteer at from schizophrenics or otherseverely mentally ill patients who go of off thier meds. what happened decades ago in TWI doesnt bother me anymore, although it was confusticating at the time. The real problem at the time was I somehow considered that they might know what they were talking about-- which was a huge mistake--once I eventually got over that hump--and realized I was dealing with a bunch of deranged control freaks it wasnt all that bad anymore...

Lotta great stuff!! Being from Stockbridge i may have to go litter today just on general principal after hearing Alices..... Heres probably my favorite Arlo story--songs --sing along its good for ya!

im surprised they let you bring your own food in---No such luck at Fenway--even your water is confiscated (no outside containers in the park)--At $4.50 a pop for water a hot day has to net them a pretty amazing amount --just in water alone--At the amount they buy the probably cost them for about 2 - 5 cents a piece. Last game I went to was hot and i went through a ton of water --maybe 6 or so- If they sold somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 which I think is a totally reasonable estimate for that day thats somewhere between $2-400,000 in water alone in one day. Never mind all the other stuff.... Its alittle crazy... Anyway.... HERE is a 3 page review of some food of different ballparks from the NYTimes food reviewer published a month or so back
-
I still have the tickets to Baltimore I mentioned on the previous page that Im not goin to be able to use --if you are in the mood! I found a baseball food review site a few months ago that had menu reviews and suggestions for all the major league ballparks-- If I can find it I'll repost it. Fenways in my mind leaves something to be desired, although the clam chowder is pretty good on the cold nights. The grill at El Tiantes isnt bad as well as at RemDogs although the price is hefty. The thing that annoys me is that beer can no longer be served in the stands, so it never fails that I always have some pack of fratboys down the row, who make it there quest every inning to get up walk down the aisle ( not easy at all in Fenways cramped seats ) go get there two beer allotment, come back go down the damn aisle again-(again up//down squeeeeeze through)-then 15 minutes later do the same thing.. Its annoying by the second inning --by the time they get totally hammered in the 5th or so..(why do they bother to come to a game to get loaded? isnt it cheaper anywhere else??) it can be very annoying..unless Im lucky enough to have a big loud burly "cut out the crap" sort of guy in the row who lets them know the score.... Its one of those times where although I love Fenway I wish the seating areas were a little more spacious.. anyway all this talk of food is making me hungry---off to breakfast

This morning is the "Gospel Morning Wakeup" at the FalconRidge Folk Festival right up the road. Annually its always near the top of being one of my favorite musical hours of the year. Heres a snippet from last year.

Glad to hear Mattingly's back. We'll see what happens over here in the East---I always knew the Yankees would be back---thats a no brainer--they always are-- Whether the Rays can stay at or near the top the rest of the way Im not sure---theyve had a great year so far but they have never been this far before--This is usually the part of the year when it gets grueling--I know the Sox and yankees know how to do August/ September--... but who knows theyve been a surprise so far. We'll see about the Sox as well---theyve been looking flat and blah for awhile now--I know that happens over a long season--but something ( well...everything really) has to somehow kick into a higher gear soon or they could fold and land in third in a hurry and damn whats the paycheck for Andruw? about 15M I hope hes not on a multiyear deal
-
I hope Simon takes sometime at Wrigley---- ..Manny's in his semiannual trade me mode-- sat out last nights 1-0 loss to the Yanks Whaddaya say Tom--Manny for Hamilton head up? Young? :) Everyones bunched up in the AL East now, first time thats happened in a 3 way for a lot of years. Sox are flat and the Yanks are on fire---Its gonna be a fight from here on out
