  1. hmm....that sounds like just about all the people that built the ministry up from nothing another brilliant decision ----kick out everyone who made it what(ever) it was and dont accept their kind anymore.... ---good move
  2. uh- duh-- that just might be a good idea.... :biglaugh: ....much ado.....etc etc. hope he runs his ministry with a clearer head than that........it still doesnt excuse Fox for their lack of research and fact checking
  3. I'd like to think that they do some good but the way the article is written its a he said, she said. Larry Koehn the chapter leader was told by Youth at Heart who wont answer any questions. Then they referred him to the housing authority who says they dont have jurisdiction. They said it was up to the residents.... Then does he or Fox talk to the residents? ...noooo..all there is so far is hearsay...<_< ....... Yea well, and my friends friend told me, that his co workers exwife knew a woman once who was my fathers dentists assistant, who said that my Dad while under sedation said that my sister once said that my mothers cousin.....etc..to infinity. (what a cluster$%^&) What I dont understand is why the guy or Fox doesnt go to the residents to find out what the problem is and either iron it out or at least get the story and reasons straight.
  4. The story is sort of muddled, not unlike the story a few weeks back of the home bible study in San Diego that had to get a license. The leader of that Bible Study was calling the city government Nazi's. It only came out later (after some handy dandy reserach by WW) that it was because there was atraffic hazard and a neighbors car had been rammed by one of the bible study group members. In this storyThe Chapter leader has his story of how wonderful they are but their are no interviews of the residents of the projects (who according to the story have the say in the matter ) or their objections. So the story is at best partial and there is no way of knowing the full story I have no idea what they are doing because that was left out of the story but I am pretty sure that I would be very uncomfortable with anyone trying to convert my child, no matter how good they think they are......
  5. We had a family of cute young female WoWs in my area one year that constantly had a full house at twig all year long...When I asked how wnd where they 'witnessed'..they told me that they always went dancing and just invited guys over to their house with no mention whatsoever of the bible, twig, TWI or anything spiritual....I dont know how many guys they ran through PFAL that year--but they were all over anyone that pretended to show even the slightest interest.

  7. I knew one guy who would about bust a cork if their were footprints on his carpet disturbing the lay of the pile.....I used to like to go to his house in lug soled boots and walk in every room i could make an excuse to--just to watch him turn those colors....and he would... He had that same peculiar spirit When he taught it was always the same, a few verses, then he started to get louder, then soon he'd be yelling, then he'd come unglued, then he'd start crying... then he'd say how much loved everyone , read afew more verses, say amen, then yell at someone or two after twig for some imagined infraction It was the Same Sh!t Everytime a real oddity. The Spirit of Weird, or some condition like extreme OCD Has anyone mentioned nose spiders yet? I think thats a new and improved devil spirit from the offshoots
  8. For a long time...That was TWI's whole game--move from class to next class, from Wow to way Corps to ordination....climb some invisible corporate ladder----It took along time to get that whole idea out of my system. pfffft for better or for worse Im content to be me. I have nothing to prove to anyone and no one i feel the need to impress, nor do I want anyone to (ewww... yuck....ptoooie ) follow me
  9. They all seem to congregate in New Knoxville Ohio as far as I can tell. Thats about the only place that Ive ever heard of them. Ive very rarely met anyone else anywhere who has such deep obsessions with them or seems to be so afflicted, or intimately knowledgable with them ( ) anywhere else...... Over there they are under every bush, behind every tree, and seemingly manipulating just about everyone you meet. Ive never heard of them even once here in Massachusetts. I had one guy tell me about some in Florida once years ago but that wasnt nearly as substantial as those mass Ohio sightings. They make their permanent home in the imaginations of a very few individuals in New Knoxville and migrate along predictable routes through tapes, classes, articles and live appearances
  10. Its in Mississippi between Tupelo and Oxford
  11. Today is the 3rd of June, it reminds me that Ive been to the Tallahatchee Bridge, I threw something off it while I was there for good measure--(No- it wasnt Billy Joe McAllister)

  15. :asdf: :asdf: Hayzeus Flippin Christos some people really really really need to get lives
  16. I wanna see the videos of that! The baby girl I held naked in my arms was Jewel. I knew her parents when I lived in Alaska when I was about 18...she was a newborn at the time...and i was the hippie kid neighbor living in the log cabin out in the backwoods.....she turned out to be quite a beauty. I met the coroner from the Wizard of Oz about 15-20 years ago. That was one of those unexpected encounters that had me smiling (long long story) He was all decked out in all coroner regalia and even rode in my car for a bit...
  17. The ump was just up from Triple A and had a real quick hook imo. There was a close play at the plate in the top of the inning and the Minnesota catcher protested when the runner was called safe. Nothing crazy -just a normal reaction and he was gone... When Gardenhire came out of the dugout to protect his player he was barely on the field before he too was tossed. He was really quick with the trigger in the bottom of the inning tossing Tek and Francona. 4 ejections in one inning? Both catchers and both managers? A little over the top imo..I think that ump may be finding his way back to AAA for a little more "seasoning"

  19. I know that I know that I know that there is.. By Golly HERE it is..
  20. Im really not much of a stargazer, Ive seen other well known people, much better known people than Dan Lauria, around town and they are just...other people. There is something about the minor everyday characters to me that somehow had a small piece of my life for a shortwhile and are buried , mostly forgotten deep in the back of my mind that makes them somehow interesting to unexpectedly see.... I definitely could see Dick Van Dyke being in that category, he's done a thousand things but to me he is and always will be Rob Petrie, a regular part of my day when I was 10-12 years old.
  21. There has been abunch of these threads over the years but I cant find them..so heres part 10 This morning I was at my regular breakfast place and sat at my regular table. It had a newspaper on it, a NY Times, so I started to read it. About 30 seconds later I heard a voice say "I left my paper here" so I looked up and it was Dan Lauria, the Dad from "The Wonder Years". For about a half a second as he looked at me I felt just like 12 year old Kevin Arnold in the show who had been caught by his Dad doing something mischievous. I was a regular watcher for awhile after I left TWI and had my weeknights open in the 80's and didnt know what to do with my time... I just smiled, mumbled something and gave him his paper--an odd way to start the day
  22. If thats the way they want to 'witness' to their neighbors I wouldnt be all that happy about it myself------and Im about as far from Southern Cal as you can get
  23. hmmm... a car accident, and the county is concerned about traffic hazards----why did WND leave that part out of the initial story? That sounds a lot more plausible Thanks for following up WW
