I was driving around southern connecticut last week (your neck of the woods maybe?) and was listening to the NY sports radio stations that I dont get at home. I was somewhat surprised at how nervous all the Yankee fans were even though technically they have the best team in baseball---I know the feeling from years past but it was odd (and I have to admit somewhat enjoyable)to see the shoe on the other foot. Caller after caller was very worried.... Since the 04 ALCS, something seemingly has snapped with those folks...I lived with it for a very long time -- I hate that feeling of impending baseball doom. I have no idea what is going to happen of course--but I am glad that it is them that are carrying that anxiety laden weight for now and not me*. I like where the Sox are positioned and will take what comes *I do reserve the right to be anxious and annoying at a later date if necessary

Same thing here with Remy-he doesnt make road trips right now so we never know who we are going to get---I enjoyed Sean Casey for a series, then its back to Eckersley then maybe Frank Viola or maybe the ball boy from 86 or something for the road games... Its been an interesting TV year but alittle lacking in continuity. Orsillo has been good with about 40 different partners-I'll give him that. Playoffs are always strange with the different announcers--I just hope they dont have those damn FrankTV commercials every 5 seconds like they have the last few years (is that even still on the air?) A New England foliage run is always good--this is shaping up to be a really great year
-
--congrats-- I had to turn the series off myself ....When Lester took a liner off the knee on Friday and went down like a pile of bricks I nearly threw up...It was the very very last thing I wanted to see... So I took a nice foliage weekend drive in New England which is looking great about now

Manny has always been moody, when its important to him he almost always steps it up a notch. If its not that big of a deal maybe he will, maybe he wont. Last year he was playing for a contract---This year with the big lead--eh who knows...maybe he was a little too casual about things....For me it will still be good to see him in the playoffs--Hopefully he will step it up a notch--he is still plenty capable to do that if he wants. Time will tell

Well Id like to see Simon , Tom, Rock and the others show back up--I didnt really mean to chase them all away--Its getting toward playoff time and my home team pride is coming out again...which we have been over here a hundred times already-its a primal response that is hard to repress.. Without any real races -I'd just as soon start the playoffs already instead of waiting around..It should be an exciting October I'd at least like to hear Tom check in....The Rangers went farther than I expected and had a real shot before unfortunately falling a little short this year...probably a good and hopeful but disappointing year for Texans...a few tweaks to the roster and they'll threaten the LAAA'a next year Whats happenin' in Dodgerville? the very little exposure I get makes them look very exciting--but honestly about the only thing I get to see are the Ethier walkoffs---and there is obviously much more to the picture than that.. I admit Im a homer,I just like the way things seem to be falling into place around here Of course no matter what things look like in October --nobody really knows nothin

but its note even close to elaborate--Its more like one of those cars that kids build out of spare parts and trash they find in junk piles and want you to stretch your imagination to believe it will actually run without falling apart I dont feel all that sorry for them--more like a source of amusement

Wikipedia needs a definitive list of TWI splinter groups
mstar1 replied to Jim's topic in About The Way
I was wondering about that...I know of a few groups led by TWI trained 'clergy' that have partially or completely rejected TWI doctrine but keep the same basic structure and methods as TWI(classes, tapes, magazines "advances", no oversight, sometimes bogus 'doctorates' etc.) and have at their core mostly former TWI followers as their base. Dale Sides,Paul Norcrossand others come to mind as being in that camp. By my way of thinking you would have to include those even though the doctrine is different as all of their main training came from TWI and they still carryover in style if not substance -
Is that the guy from Glad magazine? He still owes me some $$ I paid for a multiyear subscription at the ROA in about 86-87 then he stopped publishing it or sending it out or something...Anyway I never got it. Even in all the Weirdness of Way World I was pretty miffed at the time that he would take my money and run. Interesting at your link that the very first thing I saw was Send Me Your Money um "Partner With Us" I went to the partner page and saw this: Exactly the same BS he fed me 23 years ago just with increased prices and a slightly different product Some things never change... I was a "partner" before, It basically means we partner in the deal of him taking my money. I'll pass this time around

Proof that Jennifer Garner is one of the great women of our day and time: From Leno: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://widgets.nbc.com/o/4727a250e66f9723/4abb72df8a3758bb/4ab871f386d34293/adc95de6/-cpid/2ace08238bdda9f" id="W4727a250e66f97234abb72df8a3758bb" width="384" height="283"><param name="movie" value="http://widgets.nbc.com/o/4727a250e66f9723/4abb72df8a3758bb/4ab871f386d34293/adc95de6/-cpid/2ace08238bdda9f" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /></object>

In my email today Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr next question--do I go to the scalpers or not?
-
Its only 4 in the loss column--- --just sayin-- :) While the Red Sox play the Royals the Yankees play the Angels... and then the two face off next weekend... This could get very innnnnteresting. I dont want to jinx anything--just happy that the wildcard seems secure--BUT you never know. The Orioles are impressed--"they're better than the two World Series teams they had."

Yea "Still, We Believe" is in my video library along with about 5 copies of the '04 film "Faith Rewarded" and about 20 other videos of that magical season... It's that time of year again--the leaves are changing, the weathers getting cooler, and its time once again to register for playoff tickets... I dont know how they do it in other places---hopefully my number will come up this year If anyone else wants to give it a go here is the link: https://secure.mlb.com/sponsorship/si/y2009/postseason_ticket_offer.jsp?c_id=bos Good Luck everyone

If they are unprepared then why on earth do they take it on unless it is for some sort of ego gratification. If they genuinely cared they would send these people to professionals who are qualified to genuinely help instead of elongating their problems. They'd take the time to honestly realize their own inabilities and get themselves some legitimate training before even attempting anything like this... The truth is they have been "trained"--BUT by the same people who made many of these people "hurt, confused and needy" in the first place. What do they expect to happen by using the same formulas that have been used for decades? By some miracle the whole concoction that has proved time and again to be faulty will all of a sudden produce sweetwater instead of bitter? Its not gonna happen, the entire system was corrupt. No tweaking of a cancer is going to make it any less deadly

That was a surprisingly great start by DiceK---If he is genuinely back and that wasnt a fluke, and with Buchholz pitching the way he has been pitching-Lester being Lester and Beckett coming back after a horrendous few starts--I am liking the way things are shaping up.....Things seem to be jellin at just the right time. and at risk of ticking off Hiway...an old video I watched for the first time in a few years yesterday ...I know Geisha will like it <embed src="http://www.metacafe.com/fplayer/1922500/red_sox_the_beatles_a_day_in_the_life.swf" width="400" height="345" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" name="Metacafe_1922500" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> </embed><br><font size = 1><a href="http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1922500/red_sox_the_beatles_a_day_in_the_life/">Red Sox - The Beatles - A Day In The Life</a> - <a href="http://www.metacafe.com/">Click here for more amazing videos</a></font>

Shall I pour you one of those Jack's yet Billy? This will get interesting, might as well sit and stay for awhile-there might be some sorting out of stuff to do...

Again its interesting how people can read "personal characteristics" and inject meaning through their own filters: The White House further clarified their position for the hard of hearing on Fri Whole story from Associated Press

Im pretty sure the scam was probably mixed with some delusion. At least once in awhile he had to "believe' it for it to be effective...

Yea welcome Billy G. This might be a tough thread-- I'll keep this at the ready--you might want a shot or two

I was at work at my shop which then was in upstate NY. My coworker and I never listened to the radio, mostly CD's but for some reason we had it on that day for one of the first times... We heard the first sketchy reports of a plane hitting the WTC-in one of those 30 second 'breaks" -It really didnt say much ...I was thinking a little Cessna or something..about 30 minutes later there was another interruption saying another plane had hit the WTC...I remember that the reception was bad, the reports unclear and the announcer near hysterical---WE didnt know what to make of it...I walked to the restaurant next door which had a TV and the entire neighborhood was gathered around the TV's, everyone had an incredibly shocked look, when I caught a glimpse of the TV it looked like a bad horror movie. It took me awhile to adjust---I was in shock...I knew we would be at war, my concerns moved more toward friends and family who were in NY,then especially to my brother in Law who I knew was on a early AM flight from Boston to NY--I was very concerned about him -later I found out he saw the attack from the air and wasnt in one of those planes... shut my shop down and went home (for a week), Lots of things changed that day

Congratulations to Jeter--If I look like I hate him from time to time on this thread--well I dont and you know I really dont--He is just that good that i have had to 'endure' too many game winning hits or great plays to be able to enjoy with an unbiased eye how good he really is...He has brought me too much weeping and gnashing of teeth over the years--which in some way really is a sign of respect. To be at the top of the all time Yankee list is an amazing achievement. Im finally after all these years getting to the point where if I get to see him playing against someone else I can enjoy watching him for who he is.....I wish him well, he's not only a great player but agreat ambassador for the game--I just hope hell go 0 for the playoffs--which of course he wont. and Im with you on the damn list--please God keep him off that list-baseball would take a big hit if that were to happen

As far as the "Fairness Doctrine" Wikipedia Page Although the airwaves are technically "owned" by the public and not by the broadcasters The Obama administration is on record as being against reinstating the fairness doctrine LINK Limbaugh, Beck and the people who push the envelope on the fringes bring it up from time to time as if it is immenent to scare their listeners but there are no movements by the government to reinstate it. The Internet is still relatively new and powerful. I have been aware of a few attempted powergrabs (mostly by corporations wanting to gain greater control and charge more exhorbitantly for access) over the last 5 or 6 years but they have all been defeated so far---Its worth keeping an eye on...

No Sh!t! I go for walks in the same places, my furniture is pretty much still in the same place too...Is that OK with everyone or do I need someones permission? WTF?
