As i much as i want to I wont---I know better. Right about now I really miss even the players I "dislike" the most. i dont really dislike them--I suppose their as much as my summer 'family' as anyone else..ragging on them is a way to pass the time.... It seems too far from baseball around here right now This is today in my corner of the woods but still I can hear somewhere in the distance... ..zero zero in the seventh...Lackey.... glares in for the sign....ARod digs in....Lackey... rears up.....winds...fires.... Man..can I just see one close play at third on a throw from right soon, a well executed hit and run? a crucial pickoff in the eighth? a dazzling low and away slider on the corner that freezes a batter on a 1-2 count in a tie game? anything? Spring please come soon

It took me a good 10 years to learn how to friggin read after I got out of TWI without my mind bouncing around like a hyper ping pong ball. I always had ten books on my desk during my way years and bounced from one to the other to the other and from one section of the bible to another to another on whims---I knew a lot of snippets of things devoid of any real context but lacked the abilty to think conceptually about much of anything at all (OK some you will argue I still don't :) ..) I dont know if it was the overall plan to keep people off balance or severe unbridled Attention Deficit Disorder in manifestation..I do know that it screwed me up and it took along time for me to correct LCM and Wierwille were the worst in my opinion. bounce, bounce, bounce

What a concept----but I wont be holding my breath anytime soon -
So according to Stack this all started in the 1980's when friends introduced him to a group of people who held meetings with 'readings and discussions' and who among other things had great disdain for the 'vulgar and corrupt Catholic Church'............ Gees...... where have I heard of some group like that before? its right on the tip of my tongue somewhere... just sayin

Thats more or less what I was curiously wondering about the Mrs. The point in the articles may be an innocuous throw away line because they had nothing else to put in there -or it could indicate some more--maybe yes-- maybe no. I do know a few exwayfers who even though they threw out the more crazy way doctrines did keep a strong hold onto the anti government paranoia. Its not really that much of a reach to see how "birds of a feather" could end up together or that Miss Strange Cult Doctrine could wind up feeding Mr. Paranoid's dark vision. Its all speculation at this point (and probably forever really)but I could see how it could happen. Any group that has an annual day to burn books, music and old things because they contain devil spirits leaves itself wide open to a lot of strange possibilities.

I know Nomar had "moments" but there was a period from about 97 to 02 or so when to me he was consistantly THE most exciting at bat in baseball. There was a palpable buzz just knowing he was coming to the plate--every time--- His 99 and 00 years when he hit .357 and then .372 were stunning...and his defense was just as stellar. It was athrill watching him... He got hit in the wrist and he was never quite the same after that. At one time he seemed not only a Hall Of Fame lock but a legend. It doesnt seem right that he just fade away into obscurity...but thats baseball...I would like him given the chance for just one more bow before its all over-He did alot for the Red Sox organization and for the city of Boston during his time here.

No predictions... but since its the StrangOnes thread I'll do my annual 'I like the Rangers chances this year" comment --and I really do think they could win the AL West. Of course with their luck they could have a 10 game lead in September-then Texas will secede from the union.... ...I hope Nomar signs on with someone. Having watched him flail away in his unspectacular post Red Sox career its hard to believe that he was once the pride of Boston and on a pedestal reserved for people like Larry Bird and Bobby Orr. He even received the baseball equivalent of a blessing from the Pope when Ted Williams got all giddy upon seeing his grinning mug during the pregame to the 1999 All-Star Game at Fenway. I still consider it an honor to have seen the guy play. If life were like the movies, the Sox would invite Nomar to spring training, give him one of those "we can't promise you anything, but you might be a help to the kids in Pawtucket" deals, then call him up for a one night stand before the Fenway crowds before letting him go on his merry way. but I doubt that will happen. This will have to do... <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" width="416" height="312" id="mbox_player_7a9ddab71e1de2c7f5"><param name="movie" value="http://www.motionbox.com/external/hd_player/type%253Dsd%252Cvideo_uid%253D7a9ddab71e1de2c7f5" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullscreen" value="true" /><embed src="http://www.motionbox.com/external/hd_player/type%253Dsd%252Cvideo_uid%253D7a9ddab71e1de2c7f5" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" width="416" height="312" allowFullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" name="mbox_player_7a9ddab71e1de2c7f5"></embed></object>

Does she get sent to Gitmo for providing material support to a terrorist? Where will the trial be? o wait wait...its gotta be a military tribunal... but only after she's been waterboarded a few times first and left there for about 7 or 8 years
-
No, but there was a fringe element in The Way that did not believe in paying income taxes. I have no way of knowing if she was in that circle or not--but her husband sure had some issues with it

:) you're welcome-glad you like it I hope that I dont bore everyone else to death but here's just one more banjo tune whose rhythms really intrigue me... No scenery in this one but a nice little taste of a different culture..Its a turkish folk dance called Rampi Rampi For me its difficult to play being a beginner..if I imagine playing with a gypsy fiddler while being surrounded by swirlling belly dancers --then its a whole lot easier :) :P <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

A specific word of personal prophecy and the Living Truth: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hkJL6wRBE8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hkJL6wRBE8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hkJL6wRBE8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> -
Im lovin my banjo these days-Its definitely doing its part to get me through the lengthening winter. Here's a delightfully simple little bulgarian tune I found this morning called Trâgnala Rumjana played on banjo <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> is what it soundslike if you want to 'read it in the original' :)

I'll second Geisha on this one--NO I dont know-I really dont. Who are these people that youve been complaining about over and over nauseatingly as the entire basis of your life for 40 years? The noncult christians that I know are all doing pretty good in their lives.. Speaking of objective measurements---How many times have you been married again? Youve blown off your primary relationship what twice now? and you want to lecture people on relationships? Guess what John --Your life speaks so loudly I dont really care what you think some obscure word means in sanskrit or hebrew, or greek or -especially if this exquisite knowledge leaves you still so completely dense that you'd break up with your wife because someone else had a DREAM about spiders- are you kiddin me? You can't really be serious can you? Now you want to set yourself up yet AGAIN as someone who has the first clue about anything at all? To me this is hilarious If you ask me You should drop this whole ministry business and just get yourself a comedy show or a traveling sideshow act. the best part is you would Just have to be yourself --its full of all sorts of unintended humor. Your letters are like watching a really bizarre sideshow act that no one takes seriously but is amusing for how out there it is.... If you did that At least then it would be entertaining and you would be 'living truthfully' -
Brattleboro is a fun place, If I didnt live here I might live there--um ...or something like that :) That would be odd since they are closer to the New York border than the NH border :P Ha leave it to Vermont to keep things interesting has Texas left yet? I might secede one of these days--but it would mean printing money, developing policy and getting recognized by the United Nations-never mind making a flag and picking a national anthem....which takes up alot of time...A number of people have done it. One of my favorites is the Kingdom of Talossa <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>or I could just declare myself Emperor like our great Emperor Norton Norton I Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico -ALL HAIL!
-
--Do you mean Brattleboro?--Ive only been there a few times but I love the marvelous eccentricity of that town.. I think I'd either go with The Peoples Republic of Brattleboro--or take em into Massachusetts...They'd add an interesting political twist--any town that has a law "all nudists must wear hats" :P is OK in my book
-
It seems to be becoming a fairly regular sideshow--During republican administrations Vermont threatens secession, during democratic--its Texas. They both use near the exact same rhetoric centering around some indeterminable disrespect for the constitution, act infuriated, make a few resolutions, have some meetings, get some press ...In short they make a little noise but the idea is so outlandishly distant from reality that it is more a source of amusement than genuine concern I respect the passion although I usually find it completely misdirected no matter from which side it comes. The country has been through this before--and Yea that worked really well Others may disagree, but "Yeehaw" is not really a sound political philosophy to build anything lasting imo

Texas ranks SECOND to California as of today in funds awarded from the feds at $19.4 Billion. LINK Maybe thats a 'small amount' to Texans but its pretty sizable where I come from---what other heinous things have they done to you. Do you plan to pay that back to the rest of us when you get out from under the evil clutches of the feds?
-
If they sided with Texas they would be 'enemy combatants', go directly to Gitmo, no trials just like people are clamoring for. Would Texas build an immigration fence on its North to keep out the damn 'Mericans? Seriously I hope ex70's comes back and tells us what the upside is and what they are so upset about
-
So where do you stand on this and what exactly is Washington doing that is so heinous that Texans want to secede? Can you elaborate? I remember last year when your Governor brought up the idea of secession then within a week or so accepted federal stimulus funds Which honestly is about all I know--I lot of smoke but not much fire. At the very least Texans would have their taxes raised to make up for the lossof federal funds, you'd lose all your military bases, NASA and all the jobs that go with it, and youd have to institute your own agencies to replace the federal agencies there which would also cost a bucketload of cash. Oh and speaking of healthcare your older people would lose their Medicare-- What exactly would be the upside if Texans declared war on the United States?
-
Welcome come on in! Congratulations thats a gigantic gigantic step in the right direction to put together a shattered reality. You are among people who can relate to your trials, have been through this before you---and listen pretty well. Whats your name mean and how do I pronounce it?

I think it might be Charlie Brown who I deviated onto on the last page----It figures it would have to be during the steroid era--now we are left wondering
