Since I was in the area I went to Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo last week. Its almost like a manger scene there--the entire house is about ten feet by ten feet. The elvis chapel on the proprty was the best though--along with the piped in Elvis gospel songs there was a stained glass window that had a picture of Elvis instead of that other "King" you usually see in church windows. I have an odd sense of humor but it got me to chuckling... They were both worshipped and adored, both were seen of many after they died and their messages werent really all thatfar off.. Jesus: Love Your Neighbor Elvis: Dont Be Cruel. I didnt apreciate him when I was younger either--Maybe now that Im older I can apreciate his impact a little better and some of his stuff I really do like now

I love old traditional songs that pass through the folk process, that grow, develop and change over time. Here's a song you've all (probably) heard a million times-just not quite like this. Im partial to this version--the guitar work and style intrigues me. I dont think anybody in the world, any one with a soul--well except Cards fans and the odd Brewers fan, doesnt want to see the Cubs win..That'll be the next BIG BIG happening in baseball--sort of like Man walking on the moon...or Jesus Christ resurrecting from the grave. If they ever win I think a choir of angels should descend from heaven to present them with the World Series Trophy :biglaugh: True enough--My doctor, my doctor! can be in the middle of explaining some 15 syllable ailment and let it out with a smile. Im just happy to know that their middle relief has holes and Matsui and Damon are gone. If I were a Yankee fan Id be concerned about that. I dont know if Nick Johnson as DH will ever match the production of those two

Thankfully Im far far away Geisha basking in 80 degree sunshine, hopefully things will have dried out by the time I get home. I've always thought of Handels Messiah as a christmas piece but he actually wrote it as an easter piece, debutting it on April 13,1742. The hall was so full management asked ladies to refrain from wearing dresses with hoops so as to make room for more company.... Anyway Maundy Thursday is tomoorrow ( I dont know what wednesday is called) . This piece seems appropriate---besides its darn good.. "Anticipation" unfortunately always reminds me of ketchup.. I haven't listened to a lot of Doobies in years but since we are here This one still has a pretty good question to ponder once in awhile... "Without love where would you be now? well--where? I got one of those as a "gift" from the BOD for Christmas during my WOW year of 82-83. 7 shi**y frames of film about 3 1/2 inches long in exchange for a year of my life.....mine disappeared a long long time ago...It's polluting some landfill and poisoning someones water now.

Great Versions! If we only could "read it in the original" . The Mississippi Sheiks were awarded a grammy in 2008, 78 years after writing and recording this song in 1930-- Good things always stand the test of time Mississippi Sheiks 1930 <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> A few years after it was originally recorded Robert Johnson from the same section of the Delta changed it into "Come On In My Kitchen" Which has been covered as much as Sittin On Top Of The World <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
