  1. I've never liked the place but (as i said in the baseball thread) it doesn't seem right to me that it is coming down...
  2. The old owners made a pretty concerted effort about 6-8 years ago, going as far as building models and having internet sites of the "New Fenway" and announcing dates and such.. It raised a good size ruckus and something fell through.. The new ownership group spends a lot of time with the fans and seems to get it, that a great part of the allure, mystique and fun of the Red Sox is Fenway itself. They have made 'improvements' that are sensitive to the architecture and overall feel of the place, and just recently announced that they are planning to stay there for the long term. We'll see--but as long as these guys are around I think the Sox and Fenway are in good hands....
  3. As much as I dislike the place it just doesn't seem right that the Yankees are going to replace the house that Ruth built. Maybe with all these new luxury boxes they'll finally be able to generate some income -->
  4. I dont know--maybe I'd put a picture of The Way International, I'd like to see its picture with CANCELLED stamped across it... I'll come up with something better eventually....princess is a cutie-she works for me
  5. From the Dept. of the Incredibly Stupid Jackson's website equates his acquittal with the release of Nelson Mandela from prison, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the birth of Martin Luther King...
  6. The US Post Office has a service that lets you make valid personal stamps with custom images on it. Apparently, some people have used this service quite creatively. What would you put on a stamp?
  7. It was one of the first rules of order of communists, nazis and other oppressive regimes to control and silence dissenting media and restrict the free flow of ideas --did anyone think that this government with its track record wouldn't move in the same direction? This government can't stand to have anyone disagree with it, or dare call it into question. The Corporate media is already in the governments bed, calling screaming heads 'news', and contributing to the corporate/government powergrap. Th Corporation for Public Broadcasting was created to give the public an alternative to corporate/government controlled media. The exchange of free ideas has become too threatening to the far right ideologues, and almost looks a little like 'democracy'. Can't have that... The best bet for the power hungry is to shut it down The next move will be to control the internet.
  8. I was ready to start a pool to see how long he would last if convicted. Jail has its own inner justice system --especially for pedophiles... Even though he was acquitted he will be walking on a lot of thin ice and will still live in danger of the new vigilantism. I doubt anyone ever wins a pedophile charge
  9. The guy gives me a serious case of the creeps--always has--but thats no reason to find him guilty. I didn't follow the trial ---I imagine Sudo's assessment is probably pretty close to right
  10. Thanks for the reminder Lindy whens the book burning?

Thanks for responding everyone and special thanks to you CW for unveiling a bit of yourself...every little bit is helpful. Most afflictions of people that I run into are common enough (depression, , anxiety, addictions, psychosis of one form or another etc.) that I can at least have an informed view. But This is somewhat new to me and as CW said is creeping out of some very dark place. We'll see how it goes--thanks again
  12. Its not a California attitude --it's hersick attitude. "it was his time to go" could just as well mean she is one of those "everything is God's Will" type of Christians, shouldn't you put a blanket dismissal and mental health warning on all christians while you're at it condemning whole sections of the populace for no viable reason?
  13. Well Daddy Im generally against morons that endanger other peoples lives be they conservative , liberal, green or striped. I don't know too many liberals who keep attack pitbulls, let alone two, in a house with children. The characterization and giant leap in conclusion because she happened to live in California was devoid of any sound reasoning...
  14. Wow great scientific research, I'm impressed. One news article, idiot is from san Francisco area = liberalism is a mental illness. Thanks for sharing your method. I don't think that your insight will quite pass through the scientific criteria to make it into the next DSM, although the logic and depth of thought could qualify for it to go into the quotes of the American taliban thread
  15. Its always been a works of the flesh ministry, were we to expect something different?
  16. It was a strange play--first time I've seen that in awhile--- I've always as opportunity arrises like sitted behind the plate for a great pitcher, I saw Pedro twice last year, although he is not the same guy of 99-00, it is like watching an artist at work. Unlike watching the current sox staff... Hows Embrees speed? Great , his last pitch left the park at 100MPH
  17. yup world championship baseball --> Are the Cubs always so aggressive at the plate--a lot of hittin early in the count I can't imagine wher they would be if Prior, Wood ,and Nomar were healthy
  18. Yea -its good seeing him--you are seeing vintage sox pitching-- now 11-2 please pass the codeine
  19. ---Maddox just homered- 8-2 -I could use some codeine myself

One of the neighborhood kids has started opening up to me for one reason or another...sounds like some sort of extreme form of PTSD or something i know enough about a few other things to at least encourage or direct people in the some direction that may be beneficial..but not having much exposure to this and no personal experience it has me at somewhat of a loss

has anyone had any dealings with these people? or have any understanding of the phenomena?
  22. Are you watchin nopostSimon? 3-0 bottom of the 2nd, Arroyo can't find the corners
  23. or the NL would adopt it.... Al pitchers dont take batting seriously....2 days of BP b/4 interleague play doesn't cut it....i doubt Arroyo will dig in against anyone... then you have to find somewhere in the field for the DH (Ortiz) to play...defense suffers...hot guys(Millar and Olerud) don't fit in the lineup.....the NL holds a decided advantage in its park... It will be cool to see the Sox -Cubs though. This is a good weekend for baseball, maybe a good series to break your posting fast, since this only happens once every 90 years or so... Sox have playing like the guys Ive always known--- you never quite know what you're gonna get--brilliance or atrocity and o yea thanks for the reminder the smokes gotta go to Baghdad
  24. Yea I know, another board I go to lost about 10,000 posts
  25. 19 then 7 in the playoffs ---yea 26...but 19 of everyone within the division, I think everyone has got that i guess I didn't mean evil exactly its jsut tough on both teams -playing under different sets of rules-and seems to break up the rhythms of teams that are trying to find their strides at this time of year... I don't know how they figure who plays who either, but since teams from the same division dont necessarily play the same teams in the other league --some draw stronger teams , others weaker-it affects division standings in a nonequal way. I liked it when there was 10 teams per league 18 games against each team and the only time you saw the other league was at the AllStar Game and World Series ( and they had the same rules) but that ain't gonna happen again soon
