Yea I know--yesterday was a tough day for me... major distractions and obstacles...never mind a few beers when I posted that I know these guys are good, and theyve been doing well..They are all important parts of the puzzle--If I learned anything last year, it is that it takes every one of 25 guys. Its actually a good move by Francona to get them playing time, keep everyone sharp, have them figure out their spots and roles and to figure out the lineup for the stretch I suppose... It was a just little disconcerting at first to see half the lineup alterred and the old familiars out... but that doesn't make it a bad thing. There is a lesson in there somewhere, I had some changes to make yesterday that i was resistant to. Nothing ever stays the same-- I will take a second look.

Have you seen the lineup? speaking of infields we are going with the immortals Alex Cora at short, Tony Graffanino at 2nd and Roberto Petagine at 1st who? who? and Who? three utility guys....pfft---i have nothing against them but i hope some guys get off the DL soon On the plus Manny is hitting .583 3 HR's 11 RBI in 6 games since the deadline

:D--> :D--> HA OK! but it is to the point where I am getting ready with my fifty year old blazing 34 mph stuff in case they need me around here ;)--> :)-->

Looks like a wedding to me, I wonder where the happy couple abides, what they do for work, and where they got married (if indeed it is a marriage)....and how many times each of them have done hallucinagenics....I venture to guess that its been maybe a few times

I dont know the pitching hasn't been anything to write home about this year, Martinez and Lowe are gone, Schilling has been out most of the year(although he is doing OK as a closer), Foulke was having a horrible year as a closer, and the bullpen has mostly been like swiss cheese. Sox pitchers job is to keep the game close and then let the bats score runs. Sometimes they keep it close, sometimes they don't. If there are defensive breakdowns--its usually not good... It would be an interesting experiment to see what would happen...maybe in a fantasy league.....

Career changes are good! Looks like you found your spot! Great stuff -- it seems a genuine reflection of who you are as revealed in your writing style here. I like it and think you have a real market waiting for you. There is always a market for well done (dare I say) visionary type art. The mechanics of the site are good and easy to navigate. I think you would do well up near me(western Massachusetts) as there are a lot of meditation centers etc. here. I think your art would resonate and hold a special appeal to many of them. Hold this in abeyance -but If opportunity arose I'd love to collaborate on some glass pieces someday with you if were possible, since that is my medium, and you have a good eye for design and color..... Nice stuff-- Keep up the good work

Ive been saying all along that I like those stRangers, you guys have got some hitters. Blalock/Soriano/Mench/Young--and I know Texiera is right up there----I just get amazed because I see my guy (Manny)every day but I'd probably be equally raving about Texiera if he were here... I'd love to have your whole infield --- Sox managed to luck out with 1 out of 3 against the Twins this weekend after playing like little leaguers, and not even good little leaguers on Friday and Saturday..Its strange how that happens from time to time over a season-where even good teams go in collective brain freeze for a few days--and nothing is right---- It happens----thats the way life is I guess-you can't and dont win em all and sometimes thing really screw up-- but I hope at it is out of their system and this next series will be well played... This should be fun...

Thats sounds like a California hippie thing to do...didn't Grace Slick name one of her kids 'god' with a small 'g', ---maybe its an urban legend or something I imagined during a past herbal journey... ;)--> Anyways G has got to be Gregg Doc
-
Baby's names lists? good idea I think we are going to have to go with Eeyore again if thats permissible since he already was named... but if we ever get to 57 hurricanes in ayear maybe the "f" triple could be named "f***! f***! f***! not another one!"

This is getting hard--- is Cirocco a name? or am i just imagining it :)--> What can I say ---its early all I have other than that is Capuccino

Do we do 3 letters now? Abraham

I don't have any way dreams now--it was too many chapters ago for me now-In fact i only remember having one way dream while I was even in the way. It was the night I went WoW in 82 and we were driving to our destination in FL.,I fell asleep in the back seat----in the dream Wierwille was a used car salesman, complete with the white shoes, checkered paints and greasedback hair, He was standing in front of a bunch of beat up old clunkers saying "O Boy ! Have I got a deal for you!" like a real sleaze... I passed it off This was at a time when he was still pretty much revered, It took me until after I left about 7 years later to see how true that dream was . . .

I dont know if I would ever feel sufficiently worried if Hurricane Fifi was on its way or Eeyore i cant think of any double G's-except Gigi and god forbid we should have Hurricane named Gigi, it would sound as fearsome as Hurricane Gidget

Its not hard to listen to women, its just near impossible to understand what they mean most of the time....

Im not gonna touch that one.... ;)--> No ---I know what you mean---another bonus about him When I ran across his stats his AB's seemed low for a regular, which is why i asked...we'll be needing a leadoff hitter/ CFer over the winter I am pretty sure....Johnny D. is gonna be offered big bucks on a multiyear and will probably go... Anyway the Twinkies tonight---at least its not a day game---flyballs in that dome in the day are an adventure---I wonder whose brilliant idea it was to make the ceiling white as a baseball

I think I read that they have a better record within the division than the Red Sox (but I could be wrong)... 'Sweet Lou" usually goes ballistic at least once or twice a series when we have them...I suppose i would have to too if I were the DRays manager--but you are right --they certainly are quick.... Sox are quietly on an 8 game streak, Schilling is looking good as a closer...Good to see Matt Clement back after getting scarily bonked in the head last week... question---How comes Delucci isn't playing more down there? I almost started drooling yesterday when I read he had a .418 OBP,--- I'd love him in the two hole

Beautiful... and Selig wants us to believe that nobody ever knew anything.....MKay I have the afternoon game on Sox have 10 through 5 without some of the big guns....---KC is sloppy and hapless-- Quite a collision last night up here between Manny and Renteria---- I wonder if they found anything when they examined Manny's head... :D-->

No Tommy --our fearless and now vacationing leader-but I wont go into it here---gotsta keep this board somewhat pure Im still trying to figure out if letting Palmiero have his moment in the sun (at hit 3000) before suspending him was a good or bad thing....There is a pennant at stake here Bud-- and rules is rules...

Ive heard that from nearly everybody who has been to the Ballpark, including just about every time the team goes through there... it usually takes them a few days to recover and get back to normal after a series there. Thats a shame--it looks like a beautiful place otherwise Are the owners even considering putting the dome up? You'd think out of concern for the fans, ballplayers, and to build a better club that would be way up on the priorities list..well I would think so anyway. Taking care of your customers and employess isn't just a nice thing to do--its good business sense... ....I see they are going to question Palmiero for lying to congress..and may prosecute him ..... (Why dont they question that other guy who used to be with the Rangers about his seeming lies to congress?)

That sounds like a little bit of paradise living 10 minutes away from a great park like Dodger Stadium--its a real trek for me these days (about 3 hours or so)so its not nearly enough to satisfy my thirst, I really miss those good days of spontaneously saying "lets go to the game!' and enjoying a summer evening, a Fenway Frank and a few beers. I am not only a little distant, but with all the bandwagon fans and every game being soldout any game becomes a several hundred dollar expenditure....In some ways I miss the times years and years ago when there were 10 or 15,000 people you could walk in anytime get a great seat for short money and have a great time. Those days won't be returning anytime soon. I think there is something very primal about finding or refinding the love for your childhood team..at least it has been for me ....I actually let the sox go(more or less) for 20+ years...after cult years, then trying to act like an adult for a bunch of years, It was incredibly good for me to let myself love them again. It was , for lack of a better word 'healing'--I don't want to be too corny, but it was--and is... Leigh Montville, who grew up a RS fan, then became sportswriter and couldn't really be a 'fan' anymore, and finally was able to let himself become a fan again last year wrote a great book last year that sort of captured the feeling.. Baseball is different things to different people but there is a lot more to it than statistics, payrolls and won-loss records--its good for the heart and soul.... Anyway----- What is up with the NLWest-I didn't even think it was possible to lead a division with a losing record, I never thought about it....will a team with a losing record win the World Series?

Damn I just read this. Manny being Manny is one thing but it didn't break up any families. (as if on cue (from previous posts) Damon is thrown out at the plate with no outs, then Manny a 3 run homer..(99games-100RBI).) DLowe is only good when he is not distracted. He is subject to bizarre bouts of spaciness. Looks like he found distraction in a big big way in LA......bummer. This is from the article: Just another little thing about the ownership since we are on that subject
