Nice shots Cowgirl! Well come on up to the North country Belle--my guess is we are going to peak here in Western Massachusetts in about 2 to 3 weeks

because idiots, halfwits, bigots and people without coherent thought processes, or the capability or will to think and weigh things for themselves have always been around. The followers, the superstitous, and the thoughtless don't need any exposing --the outward displays of mindless foolishness as well as the revealing of the inner ineptitude is free for all the world to see

He's actually not as bad as people make him out to be, he did alright in interleague play and if you remember made a good throw to cut down a runner at 3rd (Jeff Suppan I think) in the 3rd game of the series last year. I read some stat recently that puts him as an above average fielder--of course its always a little spooky when you've only taken about 30 throws all year.

Well being slightly biased you all know what i think, but anything can happen now-- everyone is pretty closely matched...It may be a matter of who gets hot and pulls the most aspects of the game together not tomorrow but today magic number is 11 I gotta feel bad for those Indians fans, losing 6 of their last 7 including the last 3 after Chicago had already clinched--that young team is bound to be back------hats off to Ozzie Guillen for not laying down but playing until the end

Of which you are the chief Allan

Could be Tom--- could be... Gabe by some reports is nearly everyones favorite teammate, anyway its the ninth inning game 162 and we are in.....would've liked to see the division but we are in.... Now the real season begins...........

Martindale Returning - Is it a possibility?
mstar1 replied to TaylorCompany's topic in About The Way
Wasn't there always some big earth shattering announcement at just about every meeting? "2 new people have signed up for the class and been turned from darkness to light by Gods wonderful matchless word as taught in our class!!..... " Our new class on "Butchering the Bible" will be available next month, Sign up early, and get this lovely artificially leather covered syllabus for a mere $200.00!"..... They cried wolf with me about 1000 times too many and I really don't care all that much what Martindale does with his life--but whoever is left would have to be dumber than a bag of rocks to bring him back. -
Im not losing any sleep over any of this either although I did have few moments of skipped heartbeats and sweaty palms today....For some reason or another that I can't quite explain the Sox don't seem to have the (?) zip, chutzpah, spirit, magic or...lovability (I can't find the word) of last years squad for me , at least not yet--things could dramatically chnage i suppose in a week or so--but they haven't been looking like a championship team to me.....and although this is all incredibly dramatic it is almost with a tinge of sadness I have been watching these last few games. The next month may prove me wrong but I don't think they have it this year.

I probably have some form of ADD or another, I used to be all over the place but things have gotten much better since a diet change and pulling in the reins on a lifestyle that had been a little crazy for many years. The diet change is nothing drastic--I very rarely drink caffeine or alcohol anymore and drink lots of good old water, I also try to make sure i have plenty of greens everyday, I also dont run after first thought or whatever pops in the head quite so much anymore but try to actually weigh it before being so impulsive-It has taken awhile since we were basically trained that way Not only that but they could frikkin read in the way either, it was impossible to read more than one or two verses without flipping to another book to read another verse ---then to another book to read yet something else etc.etc...ad infinitum.... I don't think I ever heard anyone simply read even a short section of the bible in the way without their mind flipping all over creation. If you weren't ADD before you went in we were trained to have it by the way we were taught to think. Anyway, I still have sporadic moments of mentally multitasking but as I get older and I watch myself closer I am finding that things slowly get better.

can someone explain the mathematics to me-- yankees are 1 ahead with one to go and are crowned as east champions ???? If the Red Sox win tomorrow they both have equal records-- it looks tied to me Edit: Nevermind I just read about the tie breaker When the heck was that instituted? earlier this week several papers were talking about the possible one game playoff scenarios

Might be a good discussion for another thread krys, there are somethings that remain absolutely unfathomable to me about women as well, after all these years the way that they think is still seems like 'the greatest secret in the world today'

aside to Jardi- I wish that I could take credit for it-Ihave done a few that are similar but any of the pics i could find online of ones Ive done were either too big or got rejected for one reason or another Heres one I fully restored about a bazillian years ago at Harvard this one I could take at least some credit for

:o I never knew that lesbians insisted on driving buses, Insist on driving buses(?!) Is that like a telltale sign of lesbianism or spirit influence? What planet are you from Allan? You really should have a comedy show

Although I can understand the why's, wherefores and probable reasonings of this new system, I'd prefer to keep the options open. Now if I could only find my old avatar........

I dont know--I'd like to find the statistcs of how many of Ortiz's RBI's have been in game tying or go ahead situations this year---it has been a ton I know that--including yet another game tyer tonight---- The Red Sox wouldn't even be close without him, fielding or no fielding. How many games do fielders save? It is a factor but it is hard to tell-some sabermetrician probably has a stat for it somewhere that i havent grasped quite yet---but eventually it'll all be up to the voters But more and most importantly Its all tied up in the East and it's a two game season Amazing!

These levels are astounding everywhere----Do you have any stats to show that it is any different from heteroculture?
-
I dont get to watch AROD every day but , Big Papi Ortiz gets my vote for MVP-- again tonight for the billionth time he was a one man clutch show --In the 8th he hit the tying homerun and in the bottom of the 9th drove in the winning run in an absolutely must win....I've never seem anyone like this guy
-
Yea im still amazed the Yankees are there--How many starting pitchers have they had this year? about a hundred? But as Johnny Jesus Damon said last night "Its God's Way" for these teams to go together til the end... I thought the White Sox were alittle over their head most of the year but things always seem to even out in the long run and Tom---sorry to say Gabe is gone for the year, in one of the most bizarre plays I have ever seen he tore his achilles tendon during a homerun trot(!) collapsing aroung second base. He had to be carried from the field and a pinchrunner brought in , in order for the run to score........... just when you think you've seen everything............

There are leaders in a few churches(probably more than we know), The Episcopalians have ordained an openly gay bishop, I know a lesbian minister in the United Church of Christ as well as a gay Rabbi. Im pretty sure that although it has been 'in the closet' that it there probably have been gay leaders for centuries, some good , some bad. Most churches ordain leaders based mostly on their spiritual qualities and gifts and not whether or not they measure up to other peoples standards

Same thing that has been happening all year--the bullpen fell apart Ive been talking a good part of the year about hitting the stride and they had it for awhile but have lost good portions of it......the bullpen has been inconsistant all year and sometimes down right horrible--They are better than that now but it is always a nailbiter when those guys come in. Schilling has never really come back after last years ankle sacrifice and has been spotty at best, the hope was he would have it back by now-but he wasn't the old Curt last night--He is the scheduled starter for the final on Sunday against Mussina---- The comments have me *a little* concerned -this hasn't developed like last years team that was supertight, but occassionally things are said against teammates in the press. This situation is one of those deals where *someone* is ....ed because Schilling hasn't gotten booed this year. Schill is still riding on what he did last year and has attained a sort of sainthood for what he did in bringing the championship even though he has had a mediocre year at best. He is also outspoken , being on the radio and posting on internet boards just about everyday. It rubs some the wrong way. We'll see---last year a huge part of winning was the closeness of the team and the belief in each other. It may be the Boston media has overblown the whole thing as it does many times, or it could be one of those tiny indicators that makes the difference between another miracle or going home early. At this point, they look like a different team than last year, you can see it, they still play well with a few differences in strengths and weaknesses but they are not quite the happy go lucky "idiots " that pulled it together to win..... Only thing to do now is sit and watch how everything plays out
-
Stuff like that will put the stake in the heart of any team-that mustve sucked Thankfully I'm not looking back at the moment,- the only thing that matters right now are the next few days, onward ---upward Sox up 5-2 in the 5th of the second game of a day/ night....

Its in the teeth Belle..give em enough JackD til they get woozy then using a pair of pliers .......well nevermind..... anyway The longer i have been out the more I have associated with people that I would never have associated with in TWI---there IS real gold in some people (and not just in the teeth), I know many people that are more'christian' than the vocal (clanging cymbal) christians who know everything about everything ( or so they have deluded themselves into thinking)

B) Yea yea yea I know Tom what its like this time of year when your guys have broken your heart yet again--if you can try to put that aside (for now) and enjoy this week just as a general fan it may be worth it--It is bound to be exciting
