Hi Lori welcome to the cafe!... I agree with you on the comfy bed, after being on the road for a few weeks and staying in at least a few hotels that the beds were really very restful it dawned on me that my own bed at home wasnt all that great so I bought one of those thick soft pads, new pillows and a bunch of other stuff and it makes a definite difference........I dont wake up quite as much as i used to-- if i wake up at least Im comfy and not aggravated again welcome--enjoy your stay here.... Ive tried those , along with valerian root, and other various 'calming herbs' and they all work to some degree or another--most of the time--sometime they dont (at least for me) I eventually got a prescription from my Doc for Triazalom .125 mgs. which I only take once in a while when I really feel a big need to have a good nights sleep. They work really well, I only sleep maybe 5-6 hours or so at the most on them but I wake up fully rested and chipper with no side effects

Donna Gxxnn-Mt Ann Park, Gloucester Ma. I saw Pete Seeger a few years back and he sang this song: When I was a young man and never been kissed I got to thinking it over what I had missed. I got me a girl, I kissed her and then Oh Lord, I kissed her again. Chorus: Oh, kisses sweeter than wine, Oh, kisses sweeter than wine I asked her to marry and be my sweet wife, And we would be so happy the rest of our lives. I begged and I pleaded like a natural man, And then, Oh Lord, she gave me her hand. (Chorus) I worked mighty hard and so did my wife, Workin' hand in hand to make a good life. With corn in the field and wheat in the bins, I was, Oh Lord, the father of twins. (Chorus) Our children they numbered just about four, They all had sweethearts knockin' at the door. They all got married and they didn't hesitate; I was, Oh Lord, the grandfather of eight. (Chorus) Now that we're old, and ready to go, We get to thinkin' what happened a long time ago. We had a lot of kids, trouble and pain, But, Oh Lord, We'd do it again. (Chorus)

thank you very much ladies! i am enjoying these links :) There are some beautiful specimens in there that could make this a very fun, colorful and enjoyable project for me once I get all the business hoohah out of the way. Im looking forward to doing this one sometime down the line--it should be really enjoyable! Good! I would hope that all the bible readers out there find enjoyment in it. It shouldnt always be a task. personally I grow tired of people who seem to read it only as a means to prove their point, or to find out where a comma is supposed to go or something... That menorah looking plant is pretty cool-I'd love to be able to give that one as gifts to my Jewish friends-

The new ball thing started (from what Ive heard) after Ray Chapman of the Indians got killed when he was hit in the head in the late innings of a game against the Yankees in August 1920 . Up until then , one ball was generally used, it got dirty, scuffed up, misshapen and difficult to see by the late innings, but after that tragedy any ball that showed any wear at all was immediately replaced with a bright shiny new one. darn you Word Wolf aside from the goodies in the article itself -It is dated the day that I was born --May 13, 1955. Im keepin it anyway

Thanks everyone for looking--I wholeheartedly agree with you all on the way they made it part of their lifes work to stunt any ounce of creativity any artistically minded individual might have. God forbid anyone should actually think and/or feel for themselves. Their take on art was one of the bizarrest empty things that I have ever lived through, and that they willingly cut themselves off from some of the greatest things ever done by man--well ----is beyond me... My recollection of the book is that it was more of a concordance type thingy that stayed away from drawing any conclusions at all but was just lists (pretty dry as i said in the first post) of every usage of anything or any word pertaining to color--so this particular book was neutral except for providing biblical references to color, which may come in handy for me from time to time or as an aid in providing some inspiration away from way theology.... Anyway-I was curious and I appreciate you all looking.

Ive been commisioned to make a stained glass window based around the verse that concerns the lilies of the field. Im pretty sure that they wouldnt be the types of plants that I normally consider to be lilies, and since the donor is a plant lover would like to include depictions of plants and flowers that would have been around during the time and in the area that this was spoken. This isnt really a 'doctrinal' discussion but more just for my general information. Since many of you are avid bible readers and/or researchers Im hoping that some of you may have been sidetracked or diverted down this avenue at one point or another and may know something about what plants. flowers etc, may have been common and/or significant during Christs time, and what exactly the lilies of the field may have been. Any info appreciated--- pictures would be great thanks

Thanks for all the overwhelming responses <_< :) Have any of you even heard of this book?

It goes in phases--right now yup---my sleep patterns are all screwed up. I was exhausted yesterday and fell asleep earlier for a few hours and woke up at 12:30. Its about 1:30 now-I'll probably be up for a few hours-then get another few hours later-- then be tired again tomorrow-- It seems i get a full nights restful sleep about once a week

Is Craig Martindale still supported by The Way?
mstar1 replied to shortfuse's topic in About The Way
but a good question nonetheless Several years ago --maybe it was at Waydale-- RalphD described stashes of Kruegarrands, that were at various places, moved around clandestinely , buried etc...cant remember all the details -but IIRC they were more like in sacks for usage in an emergency than officially accounted for in a vault somewhere Where the heck is that now? -
No not really lets say Ive been on hiatus---or maybe the emotionally disabled list for a few months. I had hopes that looked good through a good part of the year (you know Im a hometown guy) that folded faster than Saigon, It was hard to watch so I had to go on a break for awhile. I miss it --I do--but i particularly miss watching games that mean something. I love the game for itself but for 3 and 1/2 years nearly every game meant something around here-- the last two months are like watching someone you love curl up, deteriorate, and slowly fade away and there is nothing that you can do--so I havent been watching -or paying close attention--its just been too sad to watch.. But Im perking up for playoff time -I'll be watching. Are the Dodgers gonna pull out the NL West? 2 down with 6 to go has been done many times before

This was a Way book, that was rare and by special order only. I had a copy once which was marked as "Number 23", so presumably there werent that many floating around. I lent it out about 15 years ago and never got it back and it is one book that I would like to see again. I think it is called The Color Concordance (or something very close to that) and crossreferences every word used to reference any word denoting any color as well as all the other translations of each word in 4 languages (I think). It started out as a Corps research paper that was expanded for many years, it may have been by Beth Lowder and/or John or Meg Kish. Its just eons of dry tables without any theological conclusions I'd be curious to see it again. Anyone have a copy? or one that they wouldnt mind parting with? dang meant to put this in the open forum.... if any of you mods want to move this have at it

Why do they have to prove to anyone whether or not they are christians? Last I heard being a christian was having a relationship with God, not jumping through hoops to prove it to people and becoming a people pleaser Peoples actions make their beliefs apparent.

QQ may have been his a tad more aggressive alterego--whose to know? What happened to Plotinus-He always seemed to be a sound voice of reason Mog21stCentury if sometimes stretching the boundaries usually caught me off guard and kept me thinking---or was that back on waydale?

Yea i remember when Ralph the trunk coordinator came to our area in Florida in the early 80's. When the on field corps came for a get together at the area coordinators house in three piece suits he tossed a bunch of them in the pool. It was perfect.

QamiQazi was always good for inciting a riot RalphD's time here was short but incredibly informative. GingerTea-I think was moving coast to coast maybe Rocky--who got sent to purgatory--he could be up for greasespot parole soon Satori's still around--check the Joey is 7 thread in the prayer forum Its early and I havent had coffee yet I'll think of a bunch more where in the world is pamsandiego? last I remember reading she was going off on a drive for a year in her Chinook and was hardly heard from ever again Then again some people may be around in other guises--have you seen Uncle Hairy around recently Groucho?

Yea Good for him!, I'd like to see him get licensed. If he has an ounce of sense he is probably a better driver than many of the 'armed' and dangerous drivers over here who use one hand for the cell phone and the other to put on makeup. There are alot of people who do well without all their parts ---I found this today, the One Legged Dancer

Not having been to either place , I went looking and found a few photos: LA Coliseum: LA 's Wrigley Field

Glad someones having fun out there-----that sounds like a smokin' heart pounding exciting time-which is all just a distant memory to me right now.... Im settin here watching the leaves change and baseball (of the meaningful hometown variety at anyway)seems very long ago...... although this one cracked me up the 07 schedules are out an early June trip to Dodger Stadium for the Sox maybe I'll go see the hallowed ground of Chavez Ravine..Someones been saying for a few years its a good place to see a game

Id question that as well. Of course he'd say that he is not responsible-He was a disciple of the master of no personal responsibility--VPW-I wouldnt expect him to say any less---but that doesnt necessarily make it so. Various diocese of the Catholic Church have been held responsible for sexual abuse by their priest/employees are paying out $$$ now, and the leaders in Rome have taken heat as well. Id check a lawyer-in fact a few lawyers before I dropped it because HE has a problem with personal responsibility
