    Did you ever skitch?

Skitch? Do you mean smush? watch out for the manhole covers and the dry spots
  2. Many of them are far far advanced from Wierwille and PFAL interpretations --(in fact imo more than not) Curious how many of those thousands you have actually given an honest listen to, studied and reflected on for any length of time. being unwilling to search out the answers you seek or to even listen to what thousands of highly qualified theologians and scholars over centuries have had to say would qualify to me as being pretty darn close to MOG worship if not right on the button-- Wierwille was a minute fish in a gigantic ocean --- not even really an asterick in the history of Christendom ( maybe a half a$$terick??----but choose your own poison -its your life

    Unveiling

Go to The Front Page StrangeOne, so far the innards are ( well more or less) still the same
  5. Could be--Who am I to say? I know he had already been stabbed once-near to the point of death, and numerous threats had been made on his life -- Dont forget this was a black man, in the south, in the 60's. It wasnt a stretch to say " I might not get there with you", It was what he had to deal with in a very real way every day
  6. As much as I dont like Yankee Stadium for all the heartbreak that has happened there over the years to the Red Sox, I still have great respect and honor it as a one of a kind never to be duplicated place. Its unfathomable to me that it will be gone soon....some things just aint right. Sr Peters/Rome needs an update, may as well tear that one down too ( this time with corporate boxes)
  7. I just found THIS PICTURE which is the beginnings of the New Yankee Stadium. Its hard for me to believe that it is actually happening. If any of you far awayers, want to get in a game and say your farewells to the old place you have two years to figure it out. The new place opens in '09
  8. Good thing his dream wasnt about nose spiders..it may not have been received quite so well........

    Grandma's Hands

Grandma's Hands Bill Withers Grandma's hands Clapped in church on Sunday morning Grandma's hands Played a tambourine so well Grandma's hands Used to issue out a warning She'd say, "Billy don't you run so fast Might fall on a piece of glass "Might be snakes there in that grass" Grandma's hands Grandma's hands Soothed a local unwed mother Grandma's hands Used to ache sometimes and swell Grandma's hands Used to lift her face and tell her, she'd say, "Baby, Grandma understands That you really love that man Put yourself in Jesus hands" Grandma's hands Grandma's hands Used to hand me piece of candy Grandma's hands Picked me up each time I fell Grandma's hands Boy, they really came in handy She'd say, "Matty don' you whip that boy What you want to spank him for? He didn' drop no apple core" But I don't have Grandma anymore If I get to Heaven I'll look for Grandma's hands I always loved the song--- HERES an old video of the song, which unfortuantely is of low quality
  11. I had an odd occurence today--. -I got witnessed to, or 'unwitnessed to' by a guy who has been out for over thirty years... In the midst of a long and involved conversation about alot of disparate things with someone i only casually know from town, he started talking about the worst spiritual group he had ever encountered. As he went on and described them, it starting sounding vaguely familiar, then within a minute or so when he started talking about classes and things were jsut too familiar--- I asked him if it perchance was The Way International. He looked stunned "You've heard of them?" ahh... Yeah We had a fun little go round for about 20 minutes "separating truth from error" It was therapeutic to hear him unload....
  12. I was at a Branch meeting once that already had gone on too long, when someone closed with a prayer like that. It went on and on and on and on, finally a couragous voice boomed from the back of the room " LET MY PEOPLE GO!"
  13. Complaint lodged with the customer service rep... I do use storage facilities from time to time and have used Public Storage in the past. I l let them know that I will not be using them in the future. Thanks for the heads up. I'll send it down the email chain as well. Companies like that will have to do one helluva a lot to ever earn back my respect or my money.

  15. Heres a quote from one of the writers who submitted a blank ( there were apparently two) "In an attempt to uphold the Hall of Fame standards established by their predecessors, I will not vote for anyone who played in the 1993-2004 period, which I consider to be the Steroids Era," Ladewski wrote in an e-mail to The Sun last month. "That includes Tony Gwynn, Mark McGwire and Cal Ripken Jr." And so in order to protest the steroid era of 1993-2004, he also witheld his vote from guys like Rice, Blyleven and Gossage, none of whom played in the era which he is decrying. Brilliant. Jay Buhner got 1 vote: Bobby Bonilla and Ken Flippin' Caminiti got 2 each... These guys were Ok-- but votes for the hall good? sounds sort of ridiculous to me... Do you think that there should be some sort of criteria for voting??
  16. I dont know --no cartilege left in his knees ---coming off back surgery, (how much?) 16 or so million a year PLUS two more years? I spose Arizona is going to use him as a draw and a name, He could be fine but he looks dangerously close to turning into David Wells to me (perpetually injured-and just when you think he'll come around the bend---doesn't) I think the Yankees got the better end of that deal--They are loaded (loaded) with young talent in the minors, which gives them all sorts of options.

    not really sure

My victorian era grandmother used to have fits because of my dress, behaviour and musical choices when I was younger... of course she was a rebel to her parents as well -delighting in ragtime music and not succombing to the victorian mores of the early 1900's... I cant find the quote from Aristotle, who said that the world was surely coming to an end because of the insolence of the younger generation.... which he wrote thousands of years ago So in answer to your question-- it probably started about the beginning of time
  18. Gees--Years and Years of work---Everything from all the things you mentioned to-----well one branch coordinator up here got his entire house built for damn close to free---Get invited to "fellowship" and end up felling trees, or sheetrocking or god knows what kind of heavy manual labor for an entire weekend. That went on for about 2 or 3 years. I refinished a dining room table for a BC in Florida, (he didnt even stay there while i worked all weekend-but went somewhere on a weekend getaway) then he bitched me out when he got back for missing a tiny spot underneath the bottom of the table...Gave me an entire speech about it, (he didnt mention that he missed doing any of the work himself.. and he got $100's of work for free-mustve skipped his mind in his yelling fit..) Yes Massuh. How many times did I move people? ay yi yi Gee I was so blessed. Im with you I pay somebody-even if they are friends these days who help me out in a pinch-They are paid and paid honestly and generously
  19. HERE is some advice to trekkies from William Shatner
  20. I couldnt get your link to work--- But it is agood reminder nonetheless, I do find most of their stuff informative, but operating the way they do I have found a number of articles that although partially true are obviously slanted if not outright misleading toward the views of the contributor. Its a quick ready reference most of the time pretty good--but it certainly isnt gospel
  21. Mark you definitely always do your homework but this is a little too conspiratorial for me-- I read all your links but I dont have an eye or mind inclined toward "genuine spiritual suspicion" nor do I have an inside track to what Boxer and Schumer obscure concerns maybe. They have yet to make any public statements that I know of, release any valid information or have anything other than unsubstantiated suspicions at this point FromHLF Website ....is a non-profit organization with focus on national and international programs aimed at .... finding practical solutions for human suffering everywhere. From Wikipedia "They have provided support to victims after disasters and wars in Bosnia, Kosovo, Turkey, and in the United States (Iowa floods, Texas tornadoes, and the Oklahoma City bombing)." Also from Wikipedia "Treasury officials conceded that a "substantial amount" of the money raised goes to worthy causes" and, like many things since the initial hysteria after 9/11 "no accused charity or any senior officer has been convicted on a charge of terrorism and some charities still face no criminal charges." They apparently, according to the Wikipedia article, got shut down and their assets frozen for funding schools in Palestine (schools?--). I could be wrong but they sound like a thousand and one other non profit charities except that they happen to be of the wrong religion than is acceptable right now, as is CAIR, who is trying to improve their lot and overcome this period of inquisitions. But thats just me. Personally I got to hold a Gutenberg Bible in my hands last year and it is something that I'll always remember . I doubt that its a publicity stunt at all, given the opportunity and the reason I would love to hold any of Jeffersons books in my hands, Im not even a Muslim but I would feel honored to hold his Quran (or any of his books). I would think it would be especially gratifying and meaningful for the first Muslim elected to the house to hold the Quran of the man who wrote so eloquently about freedom of religion as part of our national foundation as he watched it lived out....but again thats just me
  22. By who? Ive heard that, but havent seen anything substantial beyond allegations and conjecture on that one. The CAIR WEBSITE is quick to denounce any any all acts of terrorism.
  23. Immigrants ( and we are not talking about immigrants but someone who was born here) never abandoned their religion. From very early on. one of the first things that they typically did was build their own churches. In the Northeast especially there are Irish churches, Polish churches, Italian churches, Lithuanian churches etc etc you name it--that follow the waves of immigration. I have an appointment today to see a Korean church. The initial immigrants maintained their own forms of spirituality and still somehow were able to contribute to the whole, as do most people still today. I still dont see what the ruckus is all about, it was one of Jeffersons' guiding principals that seems to have worked out well-- and to me it seems appropriate that Ellison would respect that and symbolically give recognition and a hat tip to Jefferson by using his Quran. People dont change though-- the Puritans hated the Quakers for fouling their state as well. Things of course would always work smoother if people would choose the right religion ( which BTW is always MY religion) and not cause such a fuss, but in lieu of that --things havent worked out all bad with the setup weve got which makes room for everyone equally. It broadens and strengthens our country immensely and keeps us from turning into a theocracy
  24. Maybe in with the Pat Robertson or CES threads... Whats with the rash of prophecies lately --is it something in the water?
  25. I got sent THIS LINK I'd print them, but a lot arent for family viewing. Im sort of partial to Maggies Nipples, Wyoming
