Sounds like its an opportunity to get all the chores that you are too lazy to do yourself done and take some suckers money to get them done. I have a hard time believing anyone can actually be stupid enough to buys into this BS... but if any of you do you're more than welcome to come over and clean my house next weekend ---PLUS I'll give you a deal and only charge you $30.00

I just happened to find THIS ARTICLE in the local paper this morning, about another local outfit that came up with a good idea

I saw the Alamo too Rock ( American money....)and a lot of Folks with Star hats (Dallas Cowboy style) backing the plans to protect us from Krzykistan....I spose there everywhere.... What else would we expect from a country that perfected such heady things as Professional Wrestling and pet psychics. We may not solve world poverty anytime soon but we do have the important stuff --like the longest lasting bubble gum and sneakers that blink

Welcome Starbird---Let me be the first to say hello

Says who? I have nothing against the hearts of the individuals there or anywhere for that matter but what GREAT fruit of any of these 'ministries' are you talking about? Aside from taped bible classes that are also available on any streetcorner, in any church, and the money making scams that they all have by selling their interpretations of God. What have they actually done to improve anybodies lot, other than give a few a place to hang out and spend their time and money...... have they made a dent in world hunger that I havent heard about? ended homelessness? brought world peace? Built schools? Adopted orphans? Shoveled snow for old ladies? Anything at all? What have they actually done that qualifies as great? Ive been around long enough to know that Way and Way offshoots have never and will never do diddly squat, other than to promote themselves and stroke their contributors with a pat on the head, to get them to do their sales for them.. If thats enough for you then have at it, but there is nothing even remotely approaching 'great' about it

As usual a great post Socks on all points--thanks! This had me rolling out of my chair

Extreme Weather is a common experience that connects people together. Its one of the things I like about big storms. there is alittle preparation then the storm itself then the aftermath---then everyone seems overly open has some sort of story and the normalcy of people being in their own worlds goes away for a few days with everyone having been in the same boat---and on more or less the same page...I think that is what makes them memorable--at least to me... I was in Utah at the time but my Dad still talks about the blizzard of '78 once in awhile and whoever is there will recount where they were and what happened to them and it rolls on ...the footage of the cars stuck on RTE 128 for five days still gets trotted out everytime a Noreaster is on the way. Im a big fan of winter storms on the ocean......thats a real sight

I dont know who this person is to decide what is 'godly' and whats not...Everyone has their ownlife and their very own personal call to find that differs for everyone, - It was a massive assumption in Waythink that everyone had to be pushed into a tiny mold forcing themselves to do things that they were ill equipped for and never meant to do in the first place. The Way did much more to distort peoples genuine gifts than to develop them. To assume that people arent developing and using their own 'god given abilities' is a gross distortion and misperception. Ive been here for years now and there are many extremely gifted people here who are doing 'good' in many ways that a casual and quick judge newcomer will not understand If it doesnt fit into someones preconceived notions of what they should be doing , or its not flashy or bombastic enough for someone-- who the heck cares? -- who made them the judge and jury? No one They just have an incredibly narrow view of whats worthy and whats not---so what? t'aint worth getting upset over... He can't even run his own life, I'll be damned if he'll run mine.... Sunshine! Jonathan Edwards 14, 500? How can anyone say you do nothing?

Doesnt it though-- I'll certainly second that ----we couldnt have had a better example of the legalism that is inherent in any TWI based system...--There is a scripture and reproof for everything, as well as the pronouncement from on high that we are "off the word" Some things never change SSDD

Given your situation Pink lady i'd tell you to go anywhere to get some support and some emotional distance from the other offshoot that screwed you over and the multitude of situations that you find yourself in.. Go to a church, the local abused womans shelter, if you feel compelled even CFF for the time being. Im of the opinion as are a lot of others, that although there may be some nice and good people, who may be able to comfort you in the short term at CFF, that the evidence is too strong that the foundation is faulty and that if not already, it will eventually manifest the problems that ran through TWI and are running through the other offshoots that cling to Wierwilles bad theology. You have already experienced how the Geer offshoot operates, if you perused this site you have seen what has transpired at CES. It all happens for a reason, the seeds were planted in faulty teaching, bad theology, lack of oversight and ego's run rampant at TWI from the beginning. It has been subtley trained over decades into the founders of CFF as well. someone said (sorry whoever-memories goin..) on this thread: Ive said it before too, I have nothing against these people other than that they have no training or experience outside of the methods that time and again eventual prove to be destructive which were handed down to them.. To a certain point right now, because of your circumstances Im sure that isnt he first thing that you are concerned about, but for your own good and not to eventually repeat the hell youve just been through its something that you should be aware of, and keep an eye open to. If it were me I'd probably seek out a good pastoral counselor not only for support but to figure out why and how I found myself in a such a fiasco-but thats just me. From your words you seem like a kind and trusting (too trusting?) individual. Do what you need to do, go where you need to go to get the friendship, support and real help that you need now--but please keep your eyes open, wide wide open... Unfortunately the tag line we see around here "The lessons repeat until they are learned?"is true. Im pretty sure you dont want any repeat performances

I think that is gonna probably happen if it hasnt already,(tough to keep track of everything that is being done) a few of the kids have had enough impact made on their life, that they have gone on, some to other places, to do this type of work fulltime...... I know that the youth group, who are the real movers, interact with other youth groups around the country and around the world to form a larger community, THIS LINK has one project where they gathered artwork "of any style, medium, or size by artists of all skill levels" that they were able to get displayed at the UN on the International Day of Peace. Unfortunately their WEBSITE that details their projects is down right at the moment (they are still kids!).. at least the music (one of the local projects) is still there. Some of the projects are incredibly insightful. The key was the kids who started it, but what makes it all work is the active participation, or at least support in one form or another of a good portion of the entire community.

O no not another gang to put em in... <_< My town is very small and doesnt have any gang activity, it has had its share of restless teens over the years, and at one point a fairly serious crack/heroin problem. A few of the youths finally tired of seeing some of their friends die, got together and formed a group that they oversee and run with a lot of help and financing from the community that has been very successful in not only taking care of kids that are at risk but turning more than a few around. Being an Art and cultural community most of the programs centered around the arts that allowed anyone with an idea to pursue it and pour their energies into it. Many of the older people in town donated their time as mentors, ---Plays were written and performed, movies were made. When graffitti became a small problem, the energy was funnelled into a mural project (the space and materials were donated by the community--the idea was the kids...). A LOT of kids I have known have cleaned up well with a little support, encouragement and direction Its small potatoes compared to the problems in inner cities but the idea has worked well. For the most part the community as a whole works together to find solutions to the obvious problems. There is a fairly comprehensive network of individuals, service agencies, and community support that each have their separte piece to make the whole thing work pretty darned good. This is the mural project initiated by the local kids who previously had been taggers--It commemorates WEB Dubois the outspoken black leader who was born in my town and who had been mostly forgotten until the kids brought him to the forefront. They have since made several strides in recognizing Dubois' contributions also starting a historiccal site at his birthplace..Most of those 'hopeless junkie bad kids' are in college now or doing something else productive.

Who You Are Is More Important Than What You Know
mstar1 replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
So therefore it must be true? How did this thread get derailed from "who you are", to attacks on Juedes, plagiarism and the trinity? 'Who are" these people? Id rather see a sermon than hear one any day -
HERE are some audio sermons and speeches

 Sorry to reiterate-my eyes popped out of my head when i read that--thats not snow thats springtime! --Cmon up to New England Belle we'll show you snow! :)

Their turn was up a long time ago---when they left TWI and started the same thing with different color drapes on the windows a different color carpet, and a few commas in different places. ----They should have had the common sense from the beginning that it was a road to implosion

"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction." (HERE) "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." (Letter from Birmingham jail) At a time when white America had forfeited its right to expect from black Americans anything but rage and hatred, by some miracle all America got was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. May we all endeavor to deserve this astonishing and improbable gift.
