Welcome Bolshevik! are you a New Englander? maybe we can catch a game or two this year. You may have to carry the Red Sox baton this year around here-- for some reason, maybe because Ive been so darn busy lately, Im feeling alttle less enthused this year, although I do want to see my first Gyroball. After they finally after eternities won it, the pressures is off, maybe I like Hiway can just be a normal baseball fan now... other news: Bowie Kuhn died yesterday at 80. I honestly dont know what to think. He brought us the night World Series, expansion, divisions, the designated hitter and free agency and moved baseball from being the simple game that most of us knew when we were young into the huge business it is now. I cant say that I would have done any better if I was put in the position ( fat chance of that)but I do miss the simpler and purer game.

I think you're right, In Tampa, it had a showing in a regular movie theater on its release date. The 10th generation copy on Beta tape (or whatever they had) didnt work at all on a big screen--It was really bad -
I cant recall if Ive ever actually booed a surgeon. Im not emotionally invested enough in any high school teams to care one way or another whether or not they win or lose, Although I do applaud a well played game, I dont see any plus side for me booing a kid who makes a mistake or a bonehead play. Fellow students, fans -sure-go for it, Its the overzealous parents and blood sport adults who lose perspective on what they are watching that can give me the creeps

Ha -Giant cane--I was seeing the Bishops Staff in my minds eye when you said that.....OK...preacher you're done.... The sermons might actually get alot better, if Vito from the Bronx and Sully from the South End, who are quick to tell you loudly exactly what they think always, acted in church like they do in real life
-
Ive felt like booing and heckling in church a few times--especially in those ones that promote clapping and cheering and have all the decorum of a WWF wrestling match anyway

Any town that has a Frozen Dead Guy Parade definitely has to have at least one of these..... I was looking through the artists links and loved the stuff, and the machines themselves are really great. I saw an attempt about 6 or 8 years ago where someone had bought an old gumball machine, the kind that gives prizes in a little plastic egg type thing to do something similar, but it wasnt as well developed as your idea and disappeared in about a year. I always thought it was an interesting idea. I can think of a bunch of places where one of these machines would be a good fit. I'd love to have one myself--I'll ask around
-
I'll hope to catch that--I have been reading all the links you have been supplying and I love the idea, the approach and and the spirit that conceived and and carries it out...hopefully there is always room for creative individuals to make their own way How does it work? are the machines bought outright or are they placed and serviced? I am in an area that is progressive, artsy, funky --where people are always looking for something to add to their imaginations, I could see a bunch placed around where I live

Well Hell its baseball-who knows anything? It was 30 belowzero today. Its hard to believe that in a months time they will be playing baseball here.....somehow it all seems very far away

this is the third thread on this subject, I dont get how all these poeple keep on discovering some great secret (The Secret, The Greatest Secret In The World etc,,) that is the same same same old stuff repackaged in a different way over and over and over and over and over and over and over, and they keep pretending as if its something newly discovered for the very first time...... How much does this one cost?

You really have it in for JD . --its strange I look at the numbers and it seems to be OK, of course I have never watched him everyday like you have....so we will see....all he really has to do is show some semi competence in the 5 hole behind Ramirez and Ortiz, (how many guys ever get to bat behind those two?) and show at least a semblance of hustle (is that too much to ask for $70million?) and he should be OK, but of course check back with me in June, he may be ready to be lynched by then, some guys make it here and some guys never do.

International Fellowship?
mstar1 replied to Milfred_Zink's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
That sounds alittle more appealing than going to a dentists office fellowship in Indiana, ----at least to me- What kind of fish are you pulling in? and where are you today? -
The D's are the lil brothers team this year eh?..... well lets hope his itinerant and wandering ways have slowed down--my guys just signed him for 5 years--hopefully he can stay parked here for awhile-- I can only remember seeing one triple play as it actually happened, and that was 40 years ago, sometime in 67, The red sox attempted a double steal and a line drive was hit to Ron Hansen of the White Sox who sent it around the horn. It took me a moment to realize what happened...but it still lingers in my memory. Im still waiting for the next one. I have a friend who is still bummin' and po'd, he was on his way to a rest room and missed an unassisted triple play by John Valentin in the early 90's Theres only been 11 in over a hundred years, he was right there and he missed it Good pitching will always beat good hitting and vice versa......Casey Stengal

Well the first pitches of the year have been thrown.A long long road to October has started.... This article from Baseball Prospectus puts about 104 wins in the Sox win column this year--- as always its going to be wait and see...

Pond beat me to the punch and said more than I couldve or wouldve. Why do we have to build anything? First off, Im no bible scholar, and correct me if I am mistaken but the "who' of building the church is a job that is already taken, I doubt anyone here is going to successfully usurp that job title from the rightful owner. I personally wouldnt suggest attempting it second, there are thousands of flavors of christianity in the body already that would suit any taste, whats the point of building something that is already built?

I wouldve liked to see four strikes but only when I was batting, but what can you do? The rangers are looking good, if they can get through that heat in July and August, which always seems to kill them , it could be interesting, . I think they would do well to sign a dome to a 10 year no cut contract with options to renew. It would have to be cheaper than what they paid for ARod, and probably would give them better results

I am not Catholic and never have been, but I can appreciate the need to reassess yourself and burn the chaff so to speak that has crept into your life over the course of a year. It's one of the natural needs and rhythms of life (well...except for those who have 'arrived'). I have never fasted according to a church calendar, or to the dictates of anyone really , but I usually fast once or twice a year, and find for me it is a good thing
