  2. If'n case you've all been asleep, I think that this guy may be in contention for the 2007 "Sweet Lou" Award for tirading excellence.I know he's still a minor leaguer but with a little work and the right coaching.......

...and its soo oo o o sexy..... actually they never gave me that CPAP machine ( is that the one that makes you look like Lloyd Bridges on SeaHunt?), they prescribed the O2 which was a series of hoses that I always seemed to wake up being strangled by...but at least I could breathe! Yea I know Linda---I'll make another appointment with the sleep guy and figure out plan B

Yea i have it, wake up tired all the time, I tried the O2 tanks but after getting tangled up in all that rigamarole said no thanks- so Ive been just marching on as best as possible-- I was unaware of any surgery that could be done ( as Mark said) I'll talk to my doc about that one, that might work Im not a big fan of machinery
  5. Welcome back Simon, that which was lost has been found!, good to see you back! I've had to restrain myself here somewhat, because, as you can guess, its almost all good in Soxland, theyve been hittin on all 25 cylinders, and I dont want to look like Im gloating. Im not-its just really good baseball Ive read about those teams that have said they went to the park expecting to win every day, but I have never experienced it before, so far it has been like that, relaxed and easy and a good feeling to watch baseball everyday. For once in my life I dont have to have a meltdown when someone comes into pitch, or someone else comes to the plate or wait for a shoe to drop or some disaster to happen. Im getting so spoiled that I find myself talking about mistakes after wins, or being concerned because although they win, they may not have played as well as they couldve... which is an extremely rare luxury. The pitching has been huge all the way through the staff.. they'll be down n your neck of the woods/desert soon
  6. If you have a gig they are perfect for newborns as well
  7. Personally Im a big fan The quality has improved so drastically over the last several years, that they really are,or at least approach, being real works of art and not the 'jailhouse' tattoos of the past. The Iris is beautiful. A Timeless symbol, very elegant, and deftly rendered My only sometime concern is some of the less thought about immature designs that seem to be a fad with teenage girls who will have to wear them through their life after they have grown out of their immature personas. That doesnt seem to be a problem with you-- go for it. I know where I am its not a problem, its as common as seeing babies with curly hair
  8. Welcome to the 6th Circle. Is it your first time here? It was like home to me for a long time... after leaving TWI in the 80's, I got branded a heretic by TWI'ers a few times , then a few years later by a few different church groups i was trying to join who found out that I had been with TWI. No matter what you do, Im pretty sure someone somewhere will brand you a heretic, It seems to be a fairly popular 'christian' pastime.... It's sorta odd that a Wierwille follower would accuse anyone of 'causing division in the church, since Wierwille so vehemently hated most of christianity, and is himself a posterboy for heresy, but asking a Way follower to make sense never was an easy task. Write whatever you want, there are about 5.999 Billion other living people that may find something valuable in it, no matter what someone who owns a CD may say
  9. Sounds like a high class event! sign me up to bring a bag of CheesyPoofs and a six pack of Pabst.. thankfully no weddings this summer, my friends are mostly in the divorce age bracket-- what do you bring to one of those???
  10. Its not that bad--- :) , The Yankee /Sox thing seems to go through spurts over the last 40 years, where it heats up to a fever, then eventually tones down and gets more or less quietly repsectful, the heats up again, Right now to me , it seems to be less edgy than it was 3 or 4 years ago, wherei ts for the most part agood natured thing--- you'd be surprised how many Yankee hats make it into Fenway, and how many sox hats make it in the stadium. No doubt it generates"some conversation" , but its not hostile...
  11. I dont think about it all that much, He is a great hitter, and a great fielder but i dont like the way he plays the game. i dont mind guys playing hard, in fact I like it, but I dont like cheap shots. If he wants to take out a second baseman with a hard slide fine,good-- its part of the game, if he is going to do a popup slide and elbow a guy in the groin--well--no one shouldnt be surprised when he gets booed and hated for such a pansyassed move. Things like that happen over and over that dont make the highlight reel, after awhile its just sort of ..wrong, I have never questioned the class of Torre, or Jeter or their contributiuons to the game, Im sort of annoyed that they dont put an end to it before he ends someones career on a cheap shot. If he had been traded here, Id probably like to see him hit but as it is I find it has been infinitely more fun watching seasons of Manny hit combined with his goofy moments than watching Arod hit and his seres of cheapshots
  12. This is a RedSox/YANKEES thread, if Im not mistaken-I think that is what it says Yankees fans can always pipe in, converse, post, cheer, complain, throw a beer, yell, squawk, feed us stats, extol the virtues of Torre or whatever they want to do...Its a free site
  13. Whose playin? Whose pitchin? Heres a vid of the type of thing i see too often Why some people dont like AROD Edit: damn cant get the link to work try here: mms://a1503.v108692.c10869.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1503/10869/v0001/mlb.download.akamai.com/10869/2007/open/tp/archive05/052207_bosnya_rodriguez_elbow_tp_350.wmv?ct3=5090684&ct4=mlb&ct5=23-May-07.
  14. I have dreams and then sometimes I have DREAMS, some even happen while I am awake. My Cherokee friend calls it spirit flight---(who knows?). A few years back I was playing my guitar at my shop, closed my eyes and fell into a dream as i was playing, following the rhythms after a few minutes I was a slave in a viking ship rowing a longboat chained in and it was sinking in battle, it seemed very real, Sometimes dreams are just dreams but this one I was sure I was every bit really there, if only for a minute or two. (NO, I wasnt stoned!) Was I a viking in a past life? I Don't know, maybe, but I do know I was a viking for a few minutes of this life anyway ...other times if the conditions are right some genetic memory I think or something surfaces and for moment I see or remember something that happened outside my lifetime, which I think could be something somehow imprinted on the DNA that gets past down... again Who knows? these thoughts and feelings happen once in awhile. I gave up pretending to have all the answers along time ago I suppose if I was curious enough I'd go to a Jungian Dream Analyst
  15. I dont know, ive been watching him for about 12(?) years now and I dont know, there doesnt seem to be a pattern to it. I doubt even Wakefield knows, you never really know what it going to do on any given night. I love Tim Wakefield, he has done everything over a long time and been a good team and civic minded guy, but the knuckler is a huge enigma. Toronto thought that he did better in a dome, so they opened up the dome, exposing their fans on a cold cold night and he still shut them down, other times, he can streak as hes done and be 14-1 with a miniscule ERA or (like parts of 02) you swear that he is capable of blowing a 98 run lead. It seems to either be total beguiling, or else not working at all, all that can seemingly be done is direct it to the plate, execute well and pray, I havent seen any specific pattern to it..The knuckler is like life that way, you direct it as best you can but you never really know... Maybe there will be streaks of brilliance, other periods where nothing goes right, but by end by of the year you'll probably be a little over .500 and contribute something to the greater good..
  16. so far the thing that has really made a difference with the Red Sox as far as i can tell is that the starting pitching which has consistantly been going 7, usually good innings--- That also leaves the bullpen, which was thought of as 'iffy' at the beginning of the season, well rested and mostly effective. If that doesnt happen (which is always a question mark,) then they are pretty much in the same situation as everyone else in the division, nothing else has been monumental, some players are consistant, some slump, some mini streak, like normal. So far thankfully the pitching has mostly carried the day, and unlike the other teams there have been no major injuries, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it continues....maybe they'll be the 27yankees, maybe the 64 phillies (perish the thought...), So far they are playing well ( well duh...) but they're not really hitting on all cylinders like they could, plus the division has been best with a pile of injuries. Its been fun but they havent won it all yet--Its a long long way to October.... ------------ Sounds like a dream living situation to me, baseball wise at least...If i ever decide to do city livin again, that would definitely be the way to go..
  17. I dont know why but that struck me as hilarious,,, well considering you live in LA and all. ------------------------------------------------------- I take exception too with the 'division where all but one team suck" or however you put it--The thing is, none of them suck, ]so far this is just the way the chips have fallen, some teams have been beleaguered by injuries early, Yankees, Toronto, --one of the toughest division foes for the Red Sox believe it or not has always been Tampa Bay. So far it looks lopsided-but there isnt that great a difference in ability of at least Boston/NY/Toronto an 11 game lead in May is nice, but certainly nothing to be content about---or worry about coasting, So far the Red Sox have been good-very good, but the inevitable slumps of the season, and.or major injuries that all teams experience over the course of the season havent hit them..its very early yet. NY/Toronto havent hit their own hot spells yet---These things balance out over 162 games 3 Years ago the Sox were 11 out in early August and pulled to within 1 1/2 games by September 1st. I like our position but nobody is counting anything yet--there is still 120 or so games left. ------------------- Wave hopefull! We'll be watching! (well I will be anyway)
  18. I do like this analysis even though that is 'pretty as a picture' to me Im a little cautious about reading too much into it May Wakefields knuckleball be floating like a butterfly tonight
  19. Im tied up with work and out of town tomorrow probably for a few days, but the way things have been going so far this is one time I'd love to be in the Bronx. I know the sox have played well, jelled early as a team, and (knock wood) avoided any serious setbacks, and the Yankees havent been so lucky so far.... still 11 games between them doesnt tell the whole story, they are really a lot closer than that. I like these games because most times these two great teams seem to bring out the best in each other, the level of competition slightly rises and 9 times out of 10 are great games....of course i'd love to see a sweep, but hopefully at the least we'll get three well played exciting games. Wakefield vs. Wang Monday night
  20. I thought it was strangely appropriate that next to Wierwilles Books was an advertisement for another religious scam Free Instant Ordination Google knows precisely where to accurately file the things of this type of spiritual depth--right next to the Free Ringtones, and the Coffee Expose's
  21. Cool Rock that sounds like a great game....I love games like that--but you already know that, and Im happy Bolsh gets to go to a game-----be careful its addictive aside from 2 doubleheaders in 3 days which has screwd up the rotation some*, my favorite news has been that Jon Lester who as a rookie went 7-2 last year before being diagnosed with cancer, made his second rehab start yesterday went 3 2/3 and gave up no runs and 1 hit. Beating other teams is one thing, beating cancer is another. I like this kid, he is only 23 Go Jon! The RedSox and Yankees have a series this week . Do you think ESPN will mention it? * probably not as bad as the '27 Yankees who had 4 doubleheaders in 5 days
  22. Well sorry Mr. Rood, I'll have to give your amazing prophetic powers a zero on that
  23. I DONT remember it, except vaguely, since I was only 10, and not yet addicted to the game, but for grins I looked up the box score and play by play at Retrosheet (click) you have a helluva memory: "DODGERS 5TH: Johnson walked; Fairly out on a sacrifice bunt (pitcher to second) [Johnson to second]; Hendley may have had a play at 2nd. Scully says he dropped ball and then had to go to 1st; Johnson stole third [Johnson scored (error by Krug) (unearned)]; Lefebvre struck out; Parker grounded out (pitcher to first); 1 R (0 ER), 0 H, 1 E, 0 LOB. Cubs 0, Dodgers 1." "DODGERS 7TH: Gilliam grounded out (third to first); W. Davis grounded out (first unassisted); Johnson doubled to first; Fairly grounded out (shortstop to first); 0 R, 1 H, 0 E, 1 LOB. Cubs 0, Dodgers 1. I dont know exactly what "doubled to first" means , but that is one helluva amazing gaame however you look at it. Final Totals R H E LOB Cubs 0 0 1 0 Dodgers 1 1 0 1 unbelievable I DO remember a game in Baltimore in the 60's where ..um.. Stu Miller maybe? threw a no hitter and lost, if I remember right he walked a ton of guys and probably got a no hitter because nothing was over the plate most of the day.
