I remember LCM ranting about "Jerry's Kids" and how it was wrong to care about them because they weren't what God intended kids to be.

What I don't get about "scheduling the Devil out of our lives" is - if you're writing down everything you plan to do and when you will do it, isn't that letting the Devil know? And then he can mess with you and your plans?!?

My main memory of him is during a meeting at Corps week, he was showing slides of our days in residence. When a picture of some one who had left TWI came up he would say, "And where are they now? Nowhere." Now he's Nowhere I guess.

Did they really think that the BOD would actually respond to this is a positive manner? What do they think they have been serving all these years? Don't they know that nothing is acceptable but blind obedience? This reminds me of the 39 page letter sent in the 80s before the first mass exodus which got people fired. This could be the final death knell for TWI and all will be left are the few elites at the top who can live out their final years on that $60 million at HQ with empty buildings.

Thanks for the book recommendation, Confused. I just ordered if from Amazon. Read the intro that was available. Looks really good, though of course he thinks JC is God but who doesn't. Found I can still learn a lot from different scholars anyway. Why deprive myself of some great teaching just because one aspect of doctrine I don't agree with.

Yes, T-bone, that song was on the radio just before I left in 1988. To me, it meant that TWI would get it's stuff together after POP. Hah Didn't happen. Just as well. I was better off just getting out.

Yeah, I watched a lot of TV. Read whatever books I wanted. Enjoyed music.

Ran across a series titled "The Eighties" and it was pretty good. While watching, this thought came into me head - "Too bad I missed it." Realized once again that we were divorced from normal life and thought that was normal. Like not being part of the human race or something.

The way I look at it, I hope the Bible is true and Christ is coming back and we'll live happily ever after. But if it isn't, I'll never know.
