So I heard. But I can't even remember the first ones.... Not ivory towers...no that's not it....Not fashioned like ivory towers, minds that ..... run like the wind, practice believing to bring physical abundance to you and the ministry....that I recall because somebody already said it. oh well I don't even know where that diploma/certificate is. Hmmmm maybe it's in the trunk too where I found the Corps Wk picture.

Weren't the Corps Principals on our graduation certificate? I think I had it on my wall after I graduated but I felt like sh1t every time I looked at it, because I always felt like I couldn't live up to those "principals." I felt so condemned just looking at it.

Wow. Thank you for sharing. I don't have words. Just thank you.

Yeah, that's what you get for going to a party with "unbelievers"

When I left, I was in the same city, by choice, that I had been in since 1982. I left in 1988. Still here in the same area. Had to finally settle down, both before leaving TWI and after. It's just not normal to move around so much, like TWi caused so many of us to do.

glad I'm not the only one :D-->

Yeah, thanks, Belle, still in as far as I know... but her hubby told me he didn't "care for the Way" once. Thought of another one: When I was 20 I was sitting on the grass in a park and a dog came up and peed on me.

Just went to Amazon and bought it.

I didn't get evaluated either, at least not face to face. Yet I think there was an evaluation because there was a meeting with Dr W and all the Corps in Wierewille Library one day and we were all told that some us weren't going to be able to stay in residence and they were taking five criteria into consideration: -LEAD Evaluations -Financial state our sponsorship -Our points from running (whatever they were called) -2 other things I can't remember Thus, there must have been LEAD evaluations but what the heck mine was I'll never know. Would have been nice, I guess. Kind of like taking a class and never being told your grade. Toadfriend: I felt that way too, like I didn't belong in the Corps. On the subject of "belonging", when I first got to In-residence, first meeting we had, Gerald W told us all we were CALLED, some time later that year Dr W came to campus and said half of us didn't belong there. Of course he wasn't specific about which half. Some of us were looking at each other later and going "Is it me, Lord?"

Happy Birthday. Are you doing anything special to celebrate?

It is incredible to me that you and others were sanding a deck after the accident. So TWIish - act like something didn't happen, act like you can "overcome" it, rise above it, be victorious etc. Not a chance to react like humans.
-
Do you think maybe they set up their own website so that the innies would stay there and not come over here? But of course we can't go over there, not that I really want to. I'm so blessed, are you blessed too yes I'm so blessed that I'm blessed......

I'm surprised that we heard about the accident at all, come to think of it.

Oldies, ok so we were probably taught that. We were taught a lot of things. But did you ever get somewhere LATE and get totally reamed for it when the only way you could have gotten there was speed and "believe God" not to get a ticket or get into an accident? And what was verbally said and what actually happend or what we were reproved for etc often conflicted. And I do believe there was a general feeling that we were exempt from bad things happening. That's why we were put in harm's way so much. No, I don't remember that particular teaching but I don't remember a lot of things. But I'm still waiting for HCW to come back with "the rest of the story."

She was a WOW vet I lived with in MS.

When I was little, a fly flew into my ear. My best friend thought it was hilarious. (She too ended up in TWI) Same friend ate a worm on a dare for 74 cents. Same friend and I once had a fight where she hit me on my butt with a board and it broke. (the board) Same friend and I once had a fight and we were in her room hitting each other with bras. Same friend and I once drank as MUCH WATER as we could to see how much we could hold. Same friend and I sat in car with windows up on a hot day to see how hot we could get. Same friend is still in TWI --> :(--> (last time I talked to her)

There's a lot of blame to go around. It's the BOT and their negligence, and it's driving in a gusty wind and trying to read something at the same time. But why was he trying to read something at the same time as driving? Because he was pressured to get it all done in a certain amount of time, because we were taught we were invulnerable, that we could do dangerous things and God would protect us. It surpassed common sense. It was a disaster waiting to happen and one happened. I'm just waiting for HCW to come back with "the rest of the story."

Exactly, how INSANE is that!!! That brings back a memory of mine re LEAD. My hitching partner spent his $10 on the way back, and after we returned to Emporia, he went to his room, retrieved $10 and turned it in. I didn't say a word. I felt guilty because I thought I should have turned him in because he "broke principal," "disobeyed the man of God" etc etc Now that I look back on it, I'm glad I let it go, because, like said above, it was INSANE to give people $10 and tell them not to spend it. Funny how these little memories pop up... Anyway, HCW, like I said, thank you so much for sharing this.

It is really incredible to me when I recall how much into harm's way they put us. How they toyed with our lives.

Is HCW coming back with "the rest of the story?" and thank you, HCW, for your honest accounting of what happened. I heard about a Corps accident at LEAD involving Corps in the back of a truck, but that was about it.
