  1. I didn't spank my kid because of Oprah. Now I wish I had.
  2. I never understood how the class was "Free" but REQUIRED a "donation" of however much $$$ it cost at the time... One time a new prospective student questioned that and I had no answer.
  3. http://www.toonopedia.com/thing.htm No mention of greaspot, though. Not that he didn't say it. Hmmm, something about that picture reminds me of LCM...

Wow, and I thought I had it tough. Glad you got out and are doing so well. Sorry it was so bad for you. Lots of stupid things...I remember that dumb idea of moving half way through the year. Can you stand to eat a burrito now?
  5. Wow, that pretty much said it. I always wondered about the difference between "spiritual anger" and losing one's temper. That article made a lot of sense. There are several scriptures that make it clear that we are to control our tempers, that it is a hallmark of spiritual maturity. Well, hmmm. Thanks for sharing that, wb.
  6. Thank you for your story. You were lucky and/or smart to get out when you did. My daughter did chimes for awhile in a Methodist church. Sounds like you're doing really great. Thanks for stopping by.
  7. I told my best friend who was still in that I was happier now that I was out. She said, "No you're not!"
  8. I'd like to apologize to some people but don't know where they are so I'll do it here: To the WOW Vet I lived with in Mississippi - I'm sorry I was mean to you and I don't blame you one bit for splitting out. I was a crabby b1tch. To my cat - I'm sorry I abandoned you to go onto the WOW field and I thought some one else was going to take care of you, but I didn't follow through enough with them about it and now I don't know what happened to you. I'm so sorry. To the WOW Vet who had lived in Greenville - I'm sorry I let your vegetable garden die and then later had your car removed from our front lawn when you didn't pick it up. Hey, come to think of it, my room mate in the corps who left her iron on my bedspread and burnt a hole in it never apologized. Oh, gee, I'm trolling for minutae now, rambling, sorry, must stop now... But did I get an apology? Well, the guy who ratted on me to the branch leader because I admitted that sometimes I felt like leaving TWI (after he asked me)... and then I got reamed by branch leader, well that guy apologized later. Can't think of any others.....maybe something will come to me. Hmmmm - My former WOW sister admitted at ROA that she had been a "B1tch" on the WOW field, but now I'm sorry I agreed with her. a "B1tch." I should have been more gracious. I'm sorry to Mrs W that I left her in the middle of a conversation once. Sorry I got involved with DA on the WOW field and got temporarily engaged and then broke it.
  9. I never knew you had to do that scheduling thing. That's pretty absurd, if you think about it.
  10. I'm so sorry you've been through all that. I'm sorry I got you into TWI, though I thought I was doing the best thing. At least we learned about God's Word, which we didn't at home. You deserve for the rest of your life to be so much better. Thanks for sharing the rest of the story. I remember being at Mom and Dad's house and (after a few margarita's) trying to tell you why I was out of TWI. And then later you and the wife said you were out because of the spiritual probation thing. You said it so well - "We were put on probation because our house wasn't clean enough but we couldn't clean our house because we were always at meetings." Love you.

  12. Why stay if you're miserable? I was miserable for about 7 years before I finally split. In my case, I was corps and we were to be douloses, and staked out for God. We had made a COMMITMENT. When I finally saw that most of that was man's doing and not God's, I saw the light and LEFT. But it took that long, and it took some other people seeing the light as well. It's contagious. That's why TWI likes to keep the lid on the "remnant" that they still have.
  13. How can you be "prevailing" when you can't even own a pet, put your kids in lessons, watch cable or buy a new car? How could they drive people into poverty and at the same time talk about "prevailing?" How could anybody stay sane in the middle of all that? No wonder they lost people left and right, not to mention the people they kicked out, thus biting off the hands that fed them. TWI deserves to rot in its own decay, and LCM deserves to live the rest of his days in shame. You reap what you sow, the Word says that too. ....es me off
  14. Oh that's funny, you win $1 million on TV, like no one would know?
  15. A corps woman I was sponsoring wrote me that Elderidge Cleaver spoke at the Way College. Whether he was a grad or not, I don't know. There was a rumor that Linda Rondstat walked out of PFAL. And another rumor that Crystal Gayle talked her sister out of PFAL...who's her sister, Loretta Lynne? Just stories that went around. Who knows.
  16. Janis Joplin was standing about five feet away from me in a Cost Plus in San Francisco.
  17. yeah, like a class action?
  18. Ambassador room, yeah that's the ticket! The room of aching backs and sore butts. Thanks for coming back. Waiting for the rest. (By the way, Geo & Io, Dad and Sheleah came to dinner last night).
  19. It's just that all these memories come back....
  20. Sorry, this was supposed to be a light hearted thread. Carry on :)-->
  21. Yeah, I went on that same type camping trip but at another time. I remember the "commie camp." I dealt with it by making woven mats made out of long grass. And yes we had to carry chickens around also. And I got to hold the feet of one while some one else chopped off its head. And yes, chickens run around without their heads. Which reminds me of a time while I was at HQ and we went to Kipp farm and watched a goat get shot in the head and then some of us skinned it and took its insides out. It was mostly the nurses who could stand it. I just walked around the barn while it was going on. I thought the whole thing was odd, and I felt sorry for the goat. Poor thing. It was just standing there looking at the guy before it got shot in the head. Makes me so sad to think of it now. And what was that all about anyway? To teach us to be more heartless?
  22. Yeah where the he11 is he? Hey ex you gonna tell yours?
