Okay folks let's get in the time machine and go back and remember our attitude and mind set when we were "in". We knew it all we knew the truth we knew the "real" spiritual "reality" behind what we could see in the "5 senses realm." And what got through to us????????? Well... it wasn't any one thing... was it?? So TC.... maybe do what you're doing. Tell them what truth you know about twi. Offer no $ while they are "in". But be there if they ever want to leave. There may be one thing you can do though. Tell them to LISTEN to GOD when they see what they think are contradictions.... tell them to believe GOD is showing it to them.... that it's NOT just their natural mind senses talking to them and that GOD will talk to them just as much as anyone else. Basiclly (sp) use the twi logic against twi! Reinforce their desire to serve God... and reinforce their "spiritual eyes" so that... when the time comes for them to break away because the've relized twi's evil, they won't have to overcome pride to admit they made a mistake! Think how many times pride has stood in the way of resolving a conflict. No one likes to admit they made a mistake. And when it comes to something you believe in as much as we did like twi... it's even harder. So stay in touch with them even if they don't respond. And build them up so it will be easier for them to say... "You were SO right but I just couldn't see it until I was right in it." Or something like that... and good luck!

Galen you are one cold dude man! LOL!!! I understand, I divorced 10 years ago, dated a bunch, occasionally will cross paths with one of them...... nuff said. Glad I made the choice I did when I married this one.

VERY Well said H This thread started with a simple question about JAL's marital status and involvement in CES. Amazing how far a thead can denigrate! Worse than sharks! That's all it took........ and we're OFF.... The implication that because he has divorced that he doesn't practice his beliefs, or his belief system is flawed. Once again... do you know the details of why he's divorced? Do you know ANYTHING at all about the details??? And since when is it YOUR business anyway??? I was going to go through this thread and address all of the vitreolic posts but I type so so it would take me all day. So I'll forego that inclination. I'll leave it at this... HCW was right on the mark. Some of you have so much pride that even when you KNOW you're DEAD wrong you still won't admit it. Others of you are your own God now and will be till you die. All of us have that right ... to be wrong, and to be prideful, and to spout off their opinion. To those who have "gotten it off their chest," their thoughts and feelings about JAL... I say "well now don't you feel better!" isn't that special!! .... if the shoe fits.... Oh... stupid me... you wouldn't know if it fit anyway.

Yes TT... Wait ... shower... sweat "drying off" in the sauna tent... then walk back to the woods and sweat more on the way. Then "dress" for the main teaching!!! I hung a tarp around the back of my van in the woods and hung a "camp solar shower" up. No more walks, sweats, or lines!!! It was super.

Yeah... and it's a "murder" of crows... Seems appropos.... I see posters here that still carry huge bitterness from twi, in many cases it's posters who left twi many many years ago. How sad. When are you gonna let your heart heal?? What would make you happy? Blood? A man can't try to teach someone else unless he's spotless? You know the facts of his divorce? So you have a right to shred him!! Kinda reminds me of Pharisees when Jesus hung on the cross.... and don't loose the comparason here, I'm not comparing JAL to Jesus... get it? I DON'T remember even ONCE being asked to give, contribute, sponsor, etc. UNLESS I WANTED to. Some posters here act like "they" made participation contingent on $$$$$ like twi. Not one of my memories. This is what I recall...."IF you like what we teach, IF you are blessed by it, IF you want to help, there's the can" I also remember that JAL was one of the first to make apologies, one of the first to distribute information, one of the first to shed some light on the real twi. He was one of the one's to pull his finger out of the dyke so to speak. When you take JAL to task remember this... YOU are revealing much more about yourself, and your state of "heart" than you are pointing out about JAL. the true measure of a man is not how well he loved but rather how much he was loved by others

29... Your opening was not only gracious but insightful too. Yes it was a "trying" time. One thing we heard repeatedly in res was "don't go out on the field and try to run your own "corps program". We heard it over and over. Yet we all saw those on the field who were apparently stone deaf. Demanding to be "treated like a man of God", "the mints aren't right, the chairs are crooked, you people should stand up, don't dress better than me." NO THANKS!! no twig with you! "They" kept redefining the corps. "It's for the leaders", "School of the prophets", "It's for twig leaders". UGH! Thanks for the kind words 29.

"Blue-jean" Scott.... saw him a few times on TV post twi involvement. Reminded me of vpw so much it made my skin crawl. Especially when he'd ask for a song or music in the middle of a teaching. Interesting to listen to though. Did go way way way off the deep end sometimes.

WW has it right.... It may be cliche' but "what goes around DOES come around" Hmmmm maybe it's because "God is not mocked, what a man sows he will reap" or something like that..... I donno... that's close I think... well anyway... I'm not into budda either WW... BUT I agree, it is sorta a "karma" thing. Had a similar situation here where I work. Office manager of 22+ years hated me on the day I walked in. Over the next 4 years her hatrid, anger, animosity, ate her alive. I ignored her as much as possible. Worked VERY VERY hard. Made my boss 500K in three years. I never said one word of complaint to my boss about her. BUT Every person (there are 5 others) here did. The problem resolved itself. She was retired 6 months early (involuntery). So keep being a GREAT employee, if you are the best you will stand out and your employer will notice... oh yeah... he already has... hasn't he??? We all seem to have a favorite gripe about twi but I must say that we DID (yes some of us already knew)learn good work ethics, honest day for an honest dollar, working for the lord not man, etc.etc.etc. I still believe in spiritual principle being real. Even if you're unjustly accused, fired, wronged, etc.etc. God will make something better happen. Hmmm like this guy I knew named Joseph... man you wouldn't believe this guy's story... talk about falling in s hit and coming out smelling like a rose.... AND not just once but TWICE!!!

Sure you do peahead.... you've made 14 posts I've seen two of them and you attack "religion" in both of the posts. I haven't looked them all up but I will just to satisfy my own curiosity. In the meantime, welcome to GSC, but be honest. Don't try to cover up what you're about. You will find tons of info about twi past and present. You will also find posters ready to challenge your statements and opinions... so be careful what you say unless you're ready for some swift comebacks.

GREAT THREAD!!! BUT HEY... C'MON what ETERNAL REWARDS are you earning????? I always wondered why it was ok for Vic & company to go off motorcycling through the rockies (followed by the motorcoach and entourtage at GOD only knows what cost) or go pheasant hunting where ever it pleased him, or etc etc etc ad nauseaum.... BUT... we couldn't even go to a d amn movie... without being made to feel guilty??? Cost of having fun.... Hey HCW ! I was in 13th, remember the "event." Rochelle worked with my (then) wife in D.R. set-up. Thanks for sharing(ugh, that word still bugs me). Maybe the attorney that handled the first lawsiut for Paul could give you the best advice. I would think he would know the ropes best having already swung in "that jungle." Ex... The "venom" I spoke of was the unbridaled anger and bitterness directed at "leadership" vp lcm etc.etc. I was responsible for my twi involvement. No one else! When I heard "them" say things that were stupid, I didn't buy it. Once in a while (in res) I said so....that "that" was kinda a strech... learned real fast to keep my mouth closed if I wanted to "get along". Most of the time it was insignificant stuff. I NEVER taught anything on the field that I didn't SEE written. ( And not this, "if you're spiritual you can see it myth" ) There is the crux of the issue.... Lots of wanna be's smiling and noddin their heads .... "yeah, yeah yeah" to that MYTH... "if you're spiritual you'll see it" Who didn't want to be spiritual???? That was the whole reason we were there!!! Who's gonna admit that they didn't see it???? So lots o little wannebe vp corps wanna beEs were ready to "have no friends when it came to the word" except that it wasn't "the word" but rather vpees word. SO... I caught a lot o crap when I said... "emmm maybe but I just don't see that" I guess I just wasn't spiritual...enough. Now some of the very people who jumped me are just madder than hell that they bought it hook line and sinker... NO ONE TOLD THEM TO TURN OFF THEIR BRAIN. Half the time COMMON SENSE told you that things weren't right. Hope... PRECISELY... When you saw how "THEY"lived, and heard how WE were supposed to live... "as needed basis" ... Sorry didn't buy it. If God's no respecter of persons then I have as much need of a vacation, motor coach, big house, Harley, etc.etc.etc. I think you get it. YES the "leaders" believed what they were teaching... Belle... the hypocracy I spoke of was not wanting to take responsibility for their participation in twi and being totally "sold out". As much as we all want to puke over it... the man was good. AND He did teach us things we'd never heard, even those of us that had been in church all our lives. Was most of it stolen??? ABSOLUTELY... but the originator of the material didn't get it to us... SO... ??? Ever heard of FedEX ?? Were they the first to do overnight delivery???? NO Not by a long shot! But they were the first to come into your house and tell you THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO DID IT! I see a lot of posters spewing venom about VPW for many things. AND for many things he deserves that venom.... But many things laid at his feet should be laid at their own feet and take responsibility for things they did on their own. I have seen posters here I was in res with that were THE BIGGEST suck ups.... spewing venom ferociusly. I was the target at times because I DIDN'T believe every word from VP's or LCM's lips were "from God". And I said so... Now it's funny to see the hypcrosy. Yeah we believed it... some believed ALL of it, some others believed some of it... AND guess what... ALL of it WASN'T WRONG!!!!!

Oh but you can't "punish" these people... the thiefs, the rapists, muggers... NO NO NO... They MUST be rehabilitated....!!!!!!! Somewhere Somehow, when everyone else learned that you don't take things that don't belong to you... THEY didn't learn that!!! So now we have to have a government program to teach teenagers and other grown people NOT to take things that don't belong to them!!! Go figure!!!!!!! makes you go Hmmmmmmmmmm???
