BARF Diet for dogs. Anyone have info on this?
RottieGrrrl replied to RottieGrrrl's topic in Pet Affection
ME a California gal? NEVER! No offense to anyone who lives there hee hee. I live 20 miles west of the Loop in Chicago. Well, toenails, hooves, whatever, LOL. Boy Nico sure loves them but does she let out the GAS when she chews on those things, and the hooves have this odor to them to that's kind of gross. But, whatever makes her happy I can live with I suppose. She probably thinks I smell funny too. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

thanks for clarification on the bonemeal, LOL! Oh thats awful about the onion! That's just like antifreeze, yikes! I wish to hell they would make antifreeze out of something that doesn't attract animals. Thanks for the info once again! ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

Okay Dot I replied via PT. Nico likes the hooves too! I get them at PetSmart and then when I told the rottie breeder about it she hit the roof! She said they can get those things stuck in there teeth. I said I wouldn't buy them anymore but I lied. She's never had a problem with them and she loves them. Although she sure does fart a lot when she chewes them. I just throw it away when it gets too small. I never heard of toenails! I will try a butcher for the bones. How funny your dogs bury them! That is so cute! I knew Canidae (thanks for the pronunciation info) was big in California, that's why I thought you could only buy it out there. I wonder why it's so much cheaper there? Not fair! ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

Okay, reading the recipe. Where do you buy bonemeal? I think my mom uses that stuff to put on her parents grave!? LOL. Onions can KILL a dog? How come? I NEVER knew that! yikes! would olive oil be okay to use for the oil? Sorry for all the questions! ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

Dot thanks for the quick reply. I knew you or Jesse would be the first (and probably ONLY LOL) ones to reply to this! I brought up both links, I think I might try the Canidae if I decide not to go with the BARF diet. I also want to try some of those raw meaty bones for her teeth. Anybody have any suggestions on good raw meaty bones to buy? She likes soup bones but they don't have much meat and she polishes off the meat and marrow in no time at all. But thank you very much for both links. I hearted both of them and as I said if I don't go with the BARF thing I will most likely try the Canidae (how is that pronounced btw?) ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -
I am toying with the idea of trying the BARF diet with Nico. I'm not sure if anyone has gone into this before, forgive me if you have, but has anyone here ever done this? The thing that makes me nervous is the raw chicken bones. Chicken bones just seem way to brittle for me to be comfortable with her chewing. Although I have given her cooked chicken necks before when I make chicken soup. Because the neck is soft usually. Plus I'm worried about salmanila and bacteria. Will the coat shine? Eukanuba gives her a nice shine. She hates veggies so I know she wouldn't eat raw vegtables. Has anyone ever done this diet? ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler...

chwester, I'm sorry. I've met people (and not just in the way) who have said that about other people and been dead serious. Geez, just watch Pat Robertson sometime. Seems like he's privy to some special knowledge cause he seems to know all the people who have a "pact with the devil" ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler...

Wait a minute, chwester, just how does one know that one has sold their soul to the devil? Just because we put something before God, well heavens, we ALL do that! The only one who didn't was Jesus. Unless your getting direct revelation from God I would say that assuming that someone has sold their soul, or sold out to the world, is HIGHLY Speculative to say the least! ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler...

What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?
RottieGrrrl replied to What The Hay's topic in Entertainment Archives
Rafael: I really identify that title "The sixth sense" with this t.v. series I used to watch as a kid. You know, the one that took over night gallery, about that guy who had ESP and would solve murders. Wayward. I swear, every year or so I bring up Witchboard and I doubt anyone ever goes to rent it. It sounds like some dumb B movie. But It takes a lot to really creep me in the cinima (I've seen horror movies since I was like 3 years old) and that one really had some genuine chills in it. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

Very funny Steve! ;)--> Hope, thanks! I remember that one. Ironically I saw it when I was in Colorado for a CES thing (when I was dewayferizing my mind) I opted to skip that nights teachings to stay in my room and watch movies! How could I forget the name of that one? I also remember "Carnival of Souls" watching it with my two older brothers as a kid. Weird movie, I'd like to see it again. As a kid I remember seeing with my brothers "Bucket of Blood" Yick. That's a strange one. This artist kills women and coats them in plaster. Then at the end he has this great art show and they all start springing blood all over. Mr.Sardonicus (sp?) scared me as a kid too, though I barely remember the movie. There was another H.P. Lovecraft tale that was made into a movie, "From Beyond." Not as good as ReAnimator but still had some freaky stuff in it. OH! I liked "Return of the Living Dead" with the punk rockers! That was a good movie! And a decent soundtrack. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

I don't recall a movie called the sixth sense? Exorcist is granddaddy of horror movies. Re-Animator (the uncut) version is wild, and a good story.Don't rent it at Hollywood or Blockbuster they cut out the best 15 seconds of the movie. Henry: Portrait of a serial killer, is extremely disturbing. Now this is weird, you can rent this at Bluckbuster uncut cause it's considered to be a "masterpiece." Really weird. Witchboard (With Tawny Kittean) has some genuine chills. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -
Sudo or anyone...question for the musically astute
RottieGrrrl replied to Ron G.'s topic in Entertainment Archives
aww Sudo that's sweet. What a neat little chat room, and it doesn't take forever to get into. I hearted it so I can pop in. I guess listening to "I've never been to me" while pms-ing brought out the beast in me. I remember that song too, I haven't heard it for years! Maybe I should start a sappy song music thread. Although what's sappy to one, is not to another. PS. I sympathize with your poor wife. Although I'm actually looking forward to that time. I always said I'm going to throw a huge party when that happens. Bloody Marys for everyone! Or Virgin Marys for the non-drinkers. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

RottieGrrrl replied to Ron G.'s topic in Entertainment Archives
I'm sorry I shouldn't have said it was sappy. I get crabby when I pms. I guess I shouldn't post during that time. Or when I'm Msing either. So I guess that leaves about one week I can post. I apologize. :(--> ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler... -

Mandi: I did not hear about the rottie that got saved! I will got to google later and look the story up! Isn't it great that people help these animals? I think it's so neat. Grrr Dumb dogs! The panic they can cause us! Everytime we go to the dog park I have to watch Nico like a hawk so she doesn't go skating off on the ice while I'm not looking. I swear she's such a bone head! Okay Dot. If he helped you than that is very good. I"m sorry about picking on him. Especially since you know him. Do I think Weirwille was a DR? ha ha. The only people I like to call Dr.'s are the ones who can perscribe drugs for me when I need them. If they can do that, I'l call them a Dr. no problemo. ;)--> Maybe that's why I have a problem with people outside the MD field using that title. ( I know that's stupid) But it is a title that one really works for. PS. I've already got my Reverend title from Universal Life Church, ha ha!! I did it for a yoke a couple years ago. I will look at, and thank you all for the links. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler...

chwester: That speaking in tounges tongues thongs flipflops whatever prooves nada to me. I felt soo pressured to do that crap. I swear. I thought I was going to be a big fat failier if I didn't do that. It wasn't to prove anything to ME. It was to prove to everyone else that I wasn't "seed woman" and faking being a Christian or something. What BS! Like I'm lying if I say I believe Jesus is Lord! These offshoots still pull that crap today. And it boils me to no end. ...It's hard to be humble when you own a Rottweiler...
