Hey my pic is gone. Going to have to fix that. I have a new email addy too I need to update. it's rottygrrrl with a y instead of an ie okay everyone? Not that anyone cares but just in case.

HI EVERYONE! I'm back, not that anyone cares ;)--> Anyway, First I want to know why I can't get through to the forums on AOL anymore. At first I thought GS forums were taken down for some reason. Then I decided to open up I.E. and I can get through on that but not AOL itself. And IE is a pain the butt cause it takes so long to load for me. Anyhoos. Secondly. I have cramps. HI DARRYL if you are out there and I'll write you an email soon as soon as I don't have cramps. Thirdly, and this is the big one. Has anyone had any experience with a friend/aquaintence involved in an MLM deal? How the heck do you get them out of it or get them to "see the light" without offending them? Should you just sort of back off and wait till they lose all their money? These things are like cults. OMG. They ARE cults. These peoples whole social lives and money go into these things. OK, I'll be back later.

LOL! I guess we are the choo choo goddesses of GS. Sorry folks!

In retrospect, I was hoping to get a family. The kind of unconditional love that Jesus has for mankind that we are supposed to emulate. The wayfers believe that their doctrine is Lord. The wayfers believe that Jesus is okay to mention in fellowships in the proper perspective. As long as it doesn't interfere with their superior knowledge. They believe that having classes about Jesus is the same as having him as Lord, somewhere, in their coffee clutch. They don't understand a thing about human compassion, friendship, being a neighbor, contributing to the community. They are self centered a-holes all around.

they just had that story on, I have to investigate this further before I have an opinion. Right now I'm still at the stage where, okay, another nutball guy killed his wife. Sigh. I really have to watch more of this story before I can debate on this. But I will shortly I promise.

I hear ya Exie. I'm not being hard on JL but I come from a Naperville offshoot (coffee clutch) of a cult who thinks their sds. Um. Crap don't smell. And yeah, I'm tired of playing nice too with relgious jerks. Again, not JAL I'm talking about, but just those out there in general. And they don't have to belong to the Way either. I'm like Dirty Harry. I'm equally biased.
-
Okay Shell, I don't know what you have been going through but I sure am GLAD to see you back. Please try to make it an occasional habit! I missed your honesty and posts.
-
I had somebody who I have a very healthy respect for tell me that CG was like Hitler with an attitude. He sucks you in then Chop chop chop. Those were his words. The Naperville coffee clutch I used to attend follows his teachings from what I hear. I'm so glad I'm out. I'm glad I found my brain again and it still works. Though it needs a tune up.

IF he posts here I give him a lot of credit. I think he's very brave. Unlike these weenies who run offshoots who are afraid to face people who have legit criticism and many who have been hurt terribly by the Way or have had limited exposure but have taken the toll by years and years of their lives recovering. But hey, I still give CES credit for DeWayferizing me. Although I didn't appreciate JAL for telling me I needed a psycholgist because I chose to skip some of their teachings and stay holed up in my hotel room downing shots of Cuervo. But that's just my humble opinion.

All I can say is you have the luck of the Irish.

COOL! Sounds almost as cool as AOL 9.0!

HAP I didn't know that about aol discounting seniors. I'm not there for another 20 years or so!! But thanks for the info. It's Earthstink (Earthlink) that charges extra for extra screen names, not AOL. That's one of the many cool benefits of AOL, the multiple screennames and email addresses and stuff.
-
Agreed Wayfer! AOL has some wonderful features, and the customer service can be top of the line. That is NOT to say I haven't had some bad experiences with AOL customer service. But I remember trying EarthStink, er Earthlink like 5 years ago and it was AWFUL. First of all they tell you that you get like 7 screen names, then after you sign up you find out you have to pay like 5 bucks a month for each screen name!!!! And trying to get through to their customer service was impossible. I don't even know if they had anybody live working for them. A friend of mine at the time told me that EarthStink's customer service was where AOL was at 5 years ago. I've had mostly okay experiences with AOL, but a couple of weeks ago I needed their help. Some Wacko woman wrote my FULL name and town and state in her husbands member profile and said I was cheating with her husband. Long story. And no I wasn't. She's a nut job. Anyway, I reported the profile numerous times to AOL with no results, finally I called them up and waited on the phone for about 20 minutes and I got a very polite customer service rep...WHO COULDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!!! She couldn't understand for the love of god what I was trying to communicate to her. She kept telling me about protecting my password, then about blocking emails. Arrrrrgh!!! It's funny now but I was so damned frustrated at the time I wanted to scream. Anyway, the profile is now deleted, I'm not sure if the nutty woman deleted it, or her husband or AOL. But for awhile there I was actually thinking about contacting some lawyers. I know AOL isn't responsible for the content that some of their members may put online, but I would think that they would be responsible for not deleting libelous (is that a word?) content that one member is writing about another member in a public profile, after I had contacted them numerous times. But I still think AOL is better than others! I do I do!!!
-
HI SHELLY! I remember you! Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm glad that you and Wayfer understand the ickiness feeling, but I do understand that they all may not be like that. I guess it's like a church, some are a better fit than others.

I DON'T BLAME YOU for being green with envy. I can put sounds in my email like birds chirping and stuff and stationary in the background and I'm listening to One hit wonders on Radio AOL right now. When was the last time you heard Pilot sing Magic? huh? I'm in AOL heaven. This is just the coolest thing ever invented. Life just can't get any better than this!!!!!
-
I'm just a grooven to Radio AOL right now. Whew! Too cool for one person to handle!!!!
-
I think Your all just jealous that you don't have AOL!!! pphhht!
-
I love it. I just got a new puter and I finally got windows 98 and enough ram (whatever the hell that is) to be able to install aol 9.0. I'm finally joining the 90s. I'm always a decade behind. But I just LOVE aol 9.0. Love it. aol isn't perfect, but man, Radio aol is the coolest. I guess I'm just a big ole dork but I just love my aol.

I know 12 step programs work for some people. BUT...I've been to various ones before (there are 12 steps for every situation) and I come away with a very icky feeling. Way too cult like. Way too Wayish. Way too Napervillish. Just, Yick. Something is amiss there and I just don't want to go there. Yet it seems that these things are the new cult of choice for textbook professionals. Personally, I think they are all big dorks who haven't a clue what they are talking about yet think they are doing some big social good by shoving these programs at people. At least somebody is collecting a paycheck I guess.

How Do You Handle People Who "Witness" To You?
RottieGrrrl replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
I have to agree with 3 cents. I watch way too many crime shows and don't like to open the door for ANYBODY. Ding Dong psycho calling. Just because they come to the door doesn't mean I have to open it. Usually I just hide. I'm a big chicken. -
Linda that's a beautiful dog. She looks like a gentle, faithful, kind, loyal companian. She's lucky that she has you for her person. Perfect dog, I couldn't pick one out better myself.

Oh! Well to be honest, I did'nt see that question from you! But then my brain was still throbbing last night.

I've been in the chat before under various silly aliases and I usually leave because people are talking about stuff that I'm just not into or a part of. Tonight was different though cause I wanted to see who would pop up from the reception last night. Who made it home already and stuff. The majority of the people when you were in there were from the reception, and people wanted to be silly and talk about how silly they were! That's all! It's not like people were ignoring you. I'd just rather talk about how silly Daryl looked with Oakspears underwear draped across his head, and how Suz stripped naked and did the Macarena on the bar! That's all!!!!
