Oh well I'm sorry I missed you! I'll catch you again some other time I'm sure. I sure am glad tomorrow is Friday. I ordered a Lobster Gram and New York Strip steak and lobster bisque all for my selfish self that is coming tomorrow. Nah nah nah. I'm celebrating Spring. I need a mood lifter. Sorry about your birdie!

I'm not going to fight with duct anymore (since I know who he is! and he's really a nice guy) but I will tell you this. I might go to jail for a dog, depending on the circumstance or cause! and I don't care if someone thought I was nuts or not. I feel that Jesus was a non-conformist, and that given the circumstance he would do some things that would probably tag him as a left wing liberal. In fact, that's probably what certain people thought of him, which was far from what he was. Reading your stories, confirms my belief that I could NEVER do what you do, and I applaud the people who can work with animals, either on a volunteer basis or for the severely underpaid salaries they usually get. It truly is a calling. Of course, what I'm learning is that we all have callings, what God puts dear on our hearts, because he knows that we have the compassion within us to carry out our part. Which is why we should never look down on another persons calling. Reminds me of this lady I met at a CES camp back in 2000. She had a huge heart for animals. She took in stray cats, and her on/off again boyfriend who was some ex-wayfer-offshooter, who had absolutely no heart for people, told her that she should be saving souls not animlas. What a jerk. I suppose the Christian thing to do would be to let the animals starve to death in the street. The thing is, in America, animal control is so good, it's almost invisible. If you took a trip to some other countries, you see starving dogs in the streets everywhere. You see the consequenses of irresponsiblity. Over here you really don't see it, because the dogs get picked up and put to sleep. Anway, I'm choo chooing again. But I wanted to add my 2 cents before I get ready for work. 40 degrees today! Get out the bikinis! PS. When I was a kid my dad took in our neighbor's dog when it was raining and let him sleep at our house overnight! LOL. I know, different circumstance but I hadn't thought of that in 30 years.

I remember that guy!!!!!! Didn't he come back as firebug or somthing like that? Or was that someone different. OMG I remember that whole catmandu thing though!!!

Thanks Chatty, that's sweet of you to say that! But I think we're just nuts. btw if Minnie got pregnant would you send her away for 6 months? It's bad enough they're living in sin but geez.

Oh my, you've got a den of iniquity. Seriously though that's great he's got a companion and you have a house full of loven

I just pray that God never puts a situation where someone is abusing their animal in front of my face, because I probably would go ape %$#% on the person. Which probably would not be helpful to either one of us...............(meaning the dog or me.) I'd still rather see someone go overboard on their animal though. I don't think I go overboard at all (I don't get her married or anything!) but my doggie is my bud. She goes to work with me everyday and has her own office with her toys and food and her own couch.

Man. :( How sad is that? That poor precious thing. What the hell did his previous "caregivers" do to him? Thank God literally he was delivered into a loving home. That video still bugged me though because your heart breaks because you can just imagine what hell that dog must have gone through, what must he have been like before? Miserable and stressed out and wanting to please his master. Damn phuking people. Sometimes I think we should bring back the torture chamber.
-
Wow that's very interesting. Thanks for the explanation. And I'm going to ask my doggie groomer about this next time I see him.
-
Cant look now either (at work) but like chatty I will when I get a chance too.
-
awww I think Connie is a cutie........at a distance! Rottie's dog groomer owned snakes for eons. He used to breed rats in his dog grooming shop til he finally realized that wasn't a good thing for business. I'll have to bring this up to him next time I take my grrl in to get her nails clipped. It never ceases to amaze me what we people are capable of loving. BTW why is it not ok to handle a freshly fed snake? Now you've got me curious.

And on a side note, I don't think we would have any need for animal rights groups, if people would use their heads and acted responsibly when it came to animals. The education is out there. But people can be ignorant, foolish, cruel, whatever and that is why these groups exist.

Excellent points Rocky. And as for this. Too funny. However I wouldn't recommend doing that to a cop. They don't like that. exie your too fun. RonG I can see where you are coming from as well. They had a similar incident in a nearby state as well, Wisconsin or Michigan perhaps? Where people where shooting feral cats. There were loads of them. It all comes down to people’s irresponsibility in breeding. Every homeless, neglected, domesticated animal that is here is because of some persons irresponsibility, somewhere down the line. Period. I could probably get that point across better if I didn't become so damn frustrated and angry about it. But I just feel there is enough information out there for people to know already. How many times have I been walking my rottygrrrl and someone asks me if I would be interested in breeding her (yeah right, like I need that) and I say "No, she's spayed," And they shake their head and say "That's too bad, you shouldn't have done that." People really need to take a trip to the local humane society and see just how many dogs and cats get put down every damn day. Sigh.

Cool Chatty. Very sweet, but definetly a bit....er....what's a nice word for headstrong? ;) I know Dot, (I can hear her yelling at me)
-
Oh God now I feel like a jerk. Duct is actually somebody very sweet. Oh well. See how we can get? Well now everyone knows that I was drunk and kicked a cop in the yahoos too. See what I get? I know, I know, Dot. I'll do it for you.
-
You're funny Chatty. But your right, not about you personally, but it's like that saying goes. "those who live in glass houses...." Damn, you mean I just spilled my guts about my DUI and battery charge 10 years ago and I didn't have to? Oh well. Sure go on. I don't think I did anything else illegal. But who knows?
-
OOO Tape has something on me, Maybe he looked up my past and saw I got arrested for kicking a cop in the balls. (10 years ago) Hey, I work for an attorney and HE knows that. That's partly the reason he hired me.

First of all, I really hate it when people who don't agree with extremist views are called liberal lefties, or radical righties for that matter. That's a cheap shot. Second of all, I hardly think my 120 lbs rottweiler would ever be in need of your protection. God help any animal that would. Thirdly. That's a nice bull .... story. I think you're full of them.
-
Dot........you are so funny. I can just picture a rodeo clown riding a bull, flaring it's smoking nostrils and stomping on Duct. Oh that's not nice...... Excellent points by both garth and rocky I also have to agree that this is really not about left wing liberal extremists or worshiping creation verses creator or putting animals above humans. (anybody ever watch grizzly man Tim Treadwell the bear worshiper btw?) Although ducts post left me a bit puzzled when he posted this. "I once stopped a person from breaking the windows of a car with 3 dogs in it and the windows rolled up on a 90 degree day. Police popped the lock and towed the car after animal control took the dogs. Had it been a baby we would have broken the windows and taken the what ever followed with pride" I, like Dot ask, why would you stop the person? Does a dog not suffer as much physically from extreme heat as a human? I know shellfish don't feel pain (or so they say) that's why you can drop a lobster in a pot live, and they are not supposed to feel it, but certainly flesh and blood animals feel pain, that's why we have laws to protect them. I'm totally puzzled about why its okay for a dog to suffer longer than a baby. It's NOT! And I'm not equaling animals being on the same level with humans....well....let me clarify that... I'd certainly rather have them around more than certain humans. Without a doubt. And I know sick serial killers do abuse animals too, but I don't even care if the person who does this would never kill a human. What they are doing is wrong regardless. I love my dog more than most people. That doesn't mean I think she's on the same level. Well................maybe a little better than certain people, and more compassionate. That's for sure.

Garth those are GREAT posts. I have to finish up an assignment I have now and can't jump in here but I had to at least step in here and say that. You are so right on about this subject.

I thought the death penalty was ruled unconstituional in New York, several years ago. Has this changed? Or am I wrong? Ok, car warming up, now I really am taking RottyGrrl to the park. This thread has got me all discombulated or whatever.
-
PS. I wasn't calling you a d*** That wouldn't be nice. I said you were d***ing with me. There is a difference. I'm editing the word myself

Chatty: Agree completely. Duct: All we need to do is call the authorities and they’ll come running over to correct the situation huh? Perhaps you live in that perfect world that the Walgreens commercial shows. I could take your post and substitute “the law” for “the cause” and see an entirely different perspective. There are ignorant, even evil things done, legally, under full protection of the Constitution, in the name of the law. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. As far as animal rights go it is hardly an emotional cause. Of course there are extremists. Just as there are extremists under “The Law” that you so vigorously defend. Animal rights is a purely emotional cause? So in other words God appointed me the mega superior human who since I am so much smarter than a dumb animal I have the right to torture, abuse and bully something that I perceive as lower than me. We are supposed to respect His creation. He put certain animals here in part, as a blessing for us. Yes we can eat them, we can use them for work, we can love them as companions and protectors. But whatever we use them for, we are to respect His Creation. We are the ones with the brains, we are to use them wisely. We don't walk through a bears den and expect the bear to bow down and kiss our feet do we? Nor do we act like a big bad a@@ and blow the bear away because WE ARE THE HUMANS. GRUNT! Nor are we to try to make friends with dangerous creatures, like Timothy Treadwell did. Even if we had full authority over animals, as Adam did, we are still to use wisdom and respect with His creatures and creation. Now if you'll excuse me I have to take my dumb animal out to the dog park or she'll kick my a** in. I'm half asleep. This post probably makes no sense.

If an animal is run over by a car and half dead with it’s guts spilling out, putting it out of it’s misery may be the humane thing to do. If an animal is beaten and abused and we have that mentality, that’s one sad a** comment on society. There are not enough homes to go around for these poor creatures, so they usually end up being “put out of their misery” regardless. As far as blindly following the procedures and laws in society, I thought Jesus taught us that men were not made for laws, but laws for men. I also seem to recall this little number from Numbers. When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with his staff. Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?" Balaam answered the donkey, "You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now." The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?" "No," he said. Then the LORD opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown. The angel of the LORD asked him, "Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me. The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared her." I love it.

You call it being toyed I call it being dicked with. But thank you Rocky. My dad taught us as kids that if your going to kill something (to eat) than you kill it. You don't torture it. Being out in extreme heat with no water, beating, hurting, and making an animal suffer is from the devil, not God. and I should add once you make an animal a pet, I don't care if it's a turkey at Thanksgiving, you DONT KILL IT ONCE YOU MAKE IT A PET.
-
Come on man, don't dick with me. Torturing animals is not what God required. Sheesh. At least not MY God that I know.
