I ususally google the company's name with the keyword "complaints" and see what results I get. As others have mentioned, Amazon (and epinions.com) is an excellent source for seeing product reviews. And just for kicks, I like to visit Jobvent.com and see what workers, ex-workers have to say about their company.

Well not to be a freaking dimwit/pest but I just had to do a search to find this thread because I'm getting ready to order something from Amazon. I still think the Amazon box should be up front on the main page and not just in this thread or this will just get lost somewhere in the Twilight Zone.

I skimmed it over, I still don't get it. I must be thick. Is someone actually going to fork over money or be punished for this?
-
okay thanks for the well wishes and the further advice! I'm saving this thread on my harddrive in case I ever need to refer back to it again! :)

I'm driving a real gas guzzler so thanx for the tips :)

Great people, thanks for all the advice. I'll keep this in mind in case it happens again. One good thing came out of this, it prompted my boss to give me an allowance for dental care each year so I don't neglect my teeth to this point. I got the damn thing yanked, I'm on Tylenol 3 which btw the dentist told me I CAN mix with Aleve... he said it's not like mixing a bunch of downers together...and I'm feeling much better. Thanks all!

I understand you! And I want to know too. Is there going to be a Amazon search prominently displayed on the front of the GS forum page, cause it doesn't make sense just to have it only in this thread. And I am registered with Amazon too, they have my credit card info and everything, so I'm assuming I would go to Amazon through this website, or enter some code or something that would give them the info that a percentage of my purchses would benefit GS. Am I making sense?

I have the same question Shellon does. Outside of using the Amazon set-up in this forum, how do we do it? Will it be on the front page of this forum or something?

Hey thanks all, I'm going to run this all by my boss. He's off today but in tomorrow.

One of our office tenants needs to move office equipment and furniture from Chicago area to Rhode Island. They asked us for help in locating a reputable long distance moving company. I know lots of GS'ers have moved long distance, can anyone suggest someone reputable? TIA! Rottie

I've got a turbo cooker that's been collecting dust for 3 years now. I was surprised to see it WAS on the list of scams. The thing is, it does work, it's just too much to bother with. That lady who sells it (I've seen her on other infomercials) is so good at demonstrating products she could sell an Eskimo an Igloo.

Yeah its' a good site to check BEFORE you make the purchase. None of us are above being suckered.

I buy loads of crap on Amazon. Mostly books, but other stuff too. It's so simple. Just click click and I'm done. I love it.

That's interesting Johnny. I remember my dad saying that my grandpa (who was probably just like a quarter Native American) couldn't even handle having a beer. I didn't really buy the story about Indians and alchohol, but as I grew up I had other people, a couple of NA's included tell me the same thing about the alcohol effect. I't still puzzles me but you threw out an interesting theory there.

Yes and some of that stuff is so tempting. All I know is anything with that annoying BILLY MAYS!!!! guy with the big mouth I'm staying away from.

A couple of years ago I saw the commercial for "My lil Reminder" this little tape recorder thingie that fits onto a keychain, that acts like a Dictaphone. The commercial is so bad it's hysterical, but I thought the contraption was neat. especially for the price. They were offering 2 for 9.99. So I went to the web site and by the time I placed my order it was close to 60 bucks! Plus the way the web site was set up it was a scam in itself. There was no page where you check your final order, like all the legit ones have, it just went Wham. Your done sucker. We've got your credit card info and we are sending you this. Anyway, what I got in the mail was pure crap. I could (and have since) bought a cheap little Dictaphone for less than half the price. The shipping was a joke. They charged like 8 buck for shipping and these things were the size and weight of a box of matches. Well, I looked up "My lil reminder" and "complaints" and I found this page. Infomercial Scams I see people are still getting suckered into the same thing I bought 2 years ago! From now on, whenever I see something "cool" on an infomercial, I check out this page, or I google the products name with "complaints." I hope I never get suckered again! I almost ordered something from the Video Professor, am I glad I didn't! And this turkey had the nerve to try to sue people on that website who were complaining about him! BTW here is the page with the "my lil reminder" complaints My Lil Reminder

Thanks George, I'll add that to my list. I'm assuming you can buy this OTC.

Hey thanks all for your responses. Really interesting stuff. I never even heard of clove oil. I'm going to keep my eyes open for that. Short of the internet I don't know where I would buy that. And Shellon, yeah, this is beyond a cavity, but that stuff you mentioned is good to know about. Word Wolf you are right Excedrin is an EXCELLENT headache killer, but for anything else it doesn't seem to do the trick. And I know I shouldn't really be mixing aleve and codeine, but your right, I didn't care at that point. Thanks for weighing in Sudo! I forgot we have our own staff dentist on board! And I think your right, narcotics is the only thing that really helps. krys thanks for the suggestion, but it's manageable for a couple more days. ;) otherwise I would do just what you said. I'm a woose when it comes to pain. Ham I swear I will keep your idea in mind. It couldn't hurt. Sounds too simple to be true! Thanks everyone for your input, as usual!

Vitamin C? What does that do? I never heard that one.

Okay, getting the dang thing pulled Tuesday, (back molar) but this has been an interesting month. Lets see, Anbesol: Worked for about 10 minutes the first time I used it then nothing. Aleve/Ibuprofen/Excedrin: Progressively became immune to higher doses Hydrogen Peroxide on tooth: Looked like a rabid dog and did not work Vodka/Whiskey/ ended up drinking the bottle and passing out and waking up with a headache and toothache. Vinigar/warm salt water: Nada Only after I went to the dentist and got amoxicillin and Tylenol 3 (which I mixed with Aleve) did the pain become more manageable. I'm just curious if anybody here had anything that worked for them. I did read that honey is a natural bacteria killer. That no bacteria can survive in honey, but I didn't try that.

Well maybe tonight I'll go to McDonalds and drive with my lights off and explain to the cop it's Earth Hour.
-
Well I turn my lights off every night when I go to sleep. Besides, I want to see America's Most Wanted! Or does having a TV on not count?
-
Garth! You honestly mean you don't see anything different? Or are you just yanking me? <_<

I think it's funny. Maybe I need a life. :)
