Okay, I ALSO remember how everybody was saying that it was something like a "Hebrew idiom?" IF I'm using that phrasing correctly. They said that the people in the OT thought ALL things, bad and good, came from God, and it wasn't until the NT that Christ revealed the devil. So when any death came "from God" in the OT, it really was the devil. Ok, As you well know, I'm no bible scholar, but that just doesn't make sense. What about the Egyptians killed in the Red sea? What about the battle of Jericho, and all the battles in the OT? Where God was clearly on the Hebrew side? What about David killing Goliath? Was that all at the hands of the devil? Clearly not. And I get your example about Joseph, where God can take evil and make it for good. In fact, it's a really good lesson to remember. Okay, reading more posts now...

Yeah I finally read the book on kindle. I was wondering about that quote by your avatar until I read that book. Now please clear up a mystery that I've had since I've joined greasespot. WHO IS THAT AVATAR you have??? Is it some silent screen person? I cannot place it. Pleaaase tell me. -
exie that is so sweet. I can't listen to it I'll start crying. But I bet your Mom will be so moved by that.

Okay thanks waysider. So it twas a wayfer teaching. Interesting theory, but...well...I don't know of anyone other than the wayfers who teaches this. As far as I know, that is. There could be though. But thanks for the input on that. Okay, off to bomb my house now.

Wasn't one of the first thing Noah did when he landed was get drunk? I'm not meaning to be disrespectful either, who could blame him? But I DO remember, reading some CES stuff at the time, saying that that God would not have satan work for him as an agent for doing his will, and that made sense to me. It Also made me think that this must have been a wayfer teaching if CES was correcting this. Because this is certainly NOT a mainstream belief, it's like it has to be particular to the wayfers. Coming back to add that they also taught that the devil spirits poked holes in the universe or something to cause the rain. Because the heavens are made all of water or something. It's been a long time since I've been there, but that was what they were teaching.

Oh Twinky that was so very thoughtful of you to find this stuff out! And those are great links! Thank you so much! :)

Okay. First of all my neighbor cannot babysit TJ until 2pm, so that is why I am still in my house with my mouse. If I hadn't of screamed when I saw it TJ probably would have gone after it, but... Okay, I reread the article a bit more thoroughly, and I understand a BIT more of what they are saying. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I do understand the viewpoint a bit more. Thanks for weighing in WW. :) On the OTHER hand, what they were teaching at the offshoot I was attending, and what I BELIEVED for awhile, is that the devil spirits caused the flood and they are the ones in chains now. The offshoot I was going to taught that God was NOT the cause of ANY death, so therefore, according to the collective wisdom of the offshooter-wayferheads, the Angel of Death, was actually a devil spirt, as were the flood demons (excuse me, devil spirits) Which it wasn't until some guy I talked to (an ex-wayferhead) told me to be careful with that teaching cause he thought it was bad teaching. So I'm wondering if the wayfers originally taught that, or if that was something that came later.

Broken Arrow that is just the type of little tidbits I'm looking for! Thank you so much! I especially loved the part of the olive trees and how they are so old that some of them may have "heard" Christ praying! Oh and thanks for the warning about not straying from the group. I kind of knew that already but it's good to be reminded.

Okay, I'm up for the day (barely) but gee WW, that's a lot of gobbly gook for someone with an unschooled mind (like me) to read. I'm getting the gist that they think that there was rain before the flood. well......... I'm still not convinced about that, but like you said, I guess we can agree to disagree on that one. :)/>/>/> Ok I'm going to pull a waysider here, everybody sing along now. :)/> Coming back to edit to say I will probably not be online all day. THERE IS A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE!!!! I JUST SAW IT AND IT RAN BEHIND THE STOVE!!!! IT CRAPPED ALL OVER MY SILVERWARE AND I'VE BEEN AFTER THIS DAMN THING FOR DAYS AND IT IS BEHIND MY STOVE NOW!! I am going to get my pest bombs out and put them in every room and leave the house and have a neighbor babysit TJ. So I won't be back till later tonight.

And sweetie, you are not the only one who is asking. I have people at work asking if I'm going to Jordan, etc..and the answer is NO! I am going to Israel with NO side trips! okie dokie? Here is the LINK again!!! ROTTIE'S LINK TO ISRAEL!!!!!!! So I am still asking for people who have been there to give me tips!

Okay, I will take a breather and read this later, but there is no freaking way you are NOT going to change my mind. HOWEVER... I will look at everything in the MORNING. Okie dokie? :knuddel: Good night Gracie for now.

Yes! I hear you Twinx! My dad used to talk about how there are different burial sites for Jesus depending on what religion/tour group you are with. Not that he was ever there, but I guess that's pretty well known. LOL! But I agree with you that it's the same land and general area, and the same River Jordan, (I'm getting baptized in the Jordan, how COOL IS THAT?) I see you actually read the link! I can't wait to go to the garden tomb! I can't wait to see where Armageddon is going to be fought! I understand what you are saying that it's not the same exact culture, but I guess I want to understand some of the rituals and stuff. And eat the things that Jesus probably was eating. I want to see what a fig tree looks like! I always felt sorry for that poor old fig tree, and I'm STILL not sure what that meant when He cursed it because everytime some TV minister explains it I get a different explanation! :(/> And believe me, If I get internet access over there I'll definitely post as soon as I can. I just can't wait, lol. Now can anybody help me with my questions about what to wear and how much money to bring and how to exchange it? :)/> PS I'm really looking forward to the Israel museum and the Holocaust memorial. That should be really...what's the word...heavy. Sheesh. I can't even think of the proper word. But you know what I mean.

Cute song waysider. lol. Well, I've never been to Israel, but I kind of like their Jesus, lol. Actually, that's one of the many reasons I want to go, I have been thinking, just within the past year or so, how much our western culture has Gentilised (I know I'm not spelling that right) Jesus. You know? I want to familiarize myself with the Jewish culture that He loved and grew up with. Plus it will just be a really neat trip, lol. :)

I'm going on a Holy Land tour in October. I've never been out of the country, I've barely been anywhere IN the country for that matter. Salem Communications which owns a lot of these Christian radio stations throughout the country is putting this together. I'm hooking up with our local Chicago area Christian radio outlet, because I want to go with local people in my area. I mean, the Christian TV shows run trips to Israel all the time, but I don't want to go on some big international group, I want to go with locals from my own area, so this local radio thing sounds great. I'm actually paying extra so I can have my own room. Otherwise they would put me with somebody I don't know, and I certainly don't want that. But I'm really excited. Anyway, I am sure they will have an orientation before we go, but I have a couple of questions. How do you dress for October? What is acceptable at the Holy Sites? I mean, do I have to wear a head covering, etc. Should I bring cash and convert it to shekles, lol, however you spell that? Anybody been there? I mean, it's 6 months away, but I'm just curious. OHHH, 18 hour plane flight!!! I'm working on my cutting down on smoking now, lol. How much money should I bring? I will need to buy at least a dozen souvenirs for people, but that's my limit. Everybody wants a bottle of Jordan River water, lol. PS. I have my passport already! I never had a passport before. I can't wait to get my first (and probably only) stamp! Oh, here is a link to the itinerary Israel Tour Oct 2014

exie that sounds actually like a lot of fun. And you are right, a lot of people would not think of sharing their day. My mother actually told me that if she could do it over again she would have just got married in Vegas. She said the money was so tight and the amount of money they spent on the wedding was ridiculous. That was cute that the guy sent you back the squeegee and bucket, he just needed it to get started...awww.:)

Got it DogLover! Thanks! :)

"Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD." Great Scripture Steve, thanks for that. :)
