How did LCM come up with such a mouth. Even in my most pubescent state I couild never come up with ways of spouting off like he did. He had the harshest mouth I have ever heard. One of my boys likes Rap music and even the rappers would bow down to the mouthing of LCM. Imagine how disgusting his mind has to be to even be able to think of saying something like that

Carpenter ants? Are you sure you don't mean Way Builders?

There was nothing more stimulating to the senses than that of 16 guys living in the same room in Owens hall.

I've almost forgotten about these? I'm glad you remembered.I've been involved in several opening nights of hockey teams and football teams. Here are a couple For the opening of the team the Mascot - a bird called a griffen - half lion half eagle needed to make a dramatic entrance so I set it up where I was hanging from the rafters of the arena (94feet up) and lowered him into the arena. the timing had to be perfect because as soon as he touched the ice a fireworks display went off. If I was off by a second the mascot (a griffen) would have become a Phoenix. The following year I had the mascot jump off the bridge and fly through the gate (the area where the zamboni goes through) and swing 100feet over the ice and then back. he made three swings through the gate (8 feet wide) where if he was off just a little bit you would have seen a splat against the wall (Much like an egg against a wall). At one point of the swing he was less than 3 inches off the ice. after the third swing there was a quick release and he touched down then screamed across the ice. All the while the mascots are unable to see whats going on through the masks so they need to trust me 100% - poor guys Besides these I have rigged mascots to rappel from the ceiling through the score board. One of the nicest things about these was afterwards I got to watch the games while hanging from slings 94 feet above the ice. a vantage point nobody ever gets to have. Too bad the concessions people wouldn't come up to sell me a hotdog or a beer. These are some of the really fun parts of what I do. actually, most of its fun (except the endless paperwork of insurance and liability forms and advertising and....)

47 years old, own a rock climbing gym (Higher Ground Rock Climbing Centre www.higround.com ) and a guide service. I climb Rock, Ice, Mountains, Volcanos (sorry, no trees). If someone will pay me to climb it I go up it. It's a fun job, I was able to make a career out of what I like doing best. I'm not old, just aging well. Life is good. BLEAD Outdoor academy was fun,

I read all these stories of sexual misconduct amongst the top Twiters and have started to come to a couple conclusions I am a professional athlete but don't have near the libido demonstrated by some of the limb guys and country guys. I've determined that this is why I never made it into the upper leadership category. Had I been able to $cr*w like a rabbit I could have been a country leader or even better, maybe prez of the whole darn shabang

We have been here since 1985 we were in Des Moines IA before coming to GR. Got out (or rather was thrown out) in I think it was 89, might have been 88. We probably have met before. We used to be at every function there was. I never got over to Lansing much though,

Little John Sudan here, I think this could be a new start for me

Ok if we can't keep the thread going at least we will carry on a conversation between us. Hope you get to GR sometime soon. Lena's busy season just ended yesterday (she's an accountant) and I am between busy seasons (I'm a climber). We live about ten minutes from the Hilton in East Grand Rapids. We've been here around 19 years now (wow, makes me think I'm old) Anyway, call us when you are in town sometime

WB - I know the 11th Corps gal you were asking about. Her father owned a plane and was very well off. During Thanksgiving and Christmas he flew in and took her off for a quick get away who knows where. She did do the entire Corps program. She never missed anything. She sang for a while in one of the bands on campus. I don't think she was famous or at least I never heard of her outside of the Corps. Very nice person though.

We do a pitiful job when it comes to keeping this thread going.

They were in Phoenixville Penn. Anybody know anything about them? Jack was my best friend back in the 70's

Ok Suz - What did you do that was so bad that we can't send you a private message? Learning how to work Private messaging is like learning ...... well something good!!
-
I tried this private messaging thing but I don't think it works. Do I need to have a special Karma force eminating from my fingertips for it to work? or am I evil also and thats why it won't work. I've been called evil before, along with alot of other things too numerous to mention here (and also guaranteed to get me banned from this site) and most of them aren't even true..
-
SUZ I sent you an EMail w/ info You don't sound very evil, well maybe just a little bit...

Hey Suz when you arer in GR let us know. Lena is a tax accountant so she is really busy until April 16th however weekends she is around. I am back in town now and expect to be here for a while PS - where are the Naylors today. I heard Bruce was selling Real Estate in Detroit? Who else from the 11th is in or around Michigan?? I don't think the Pughs are still here in GR but I could be mistaken. Do you remember the Saturday morning Fun Runs? The only thing that made them fun was knowing that afterwards we had the rest of the day to ourselves and saturday evening there was a chance of getting a beer at Phils. Therer was another place in Emporia that had a glass that was around 24 inches tall. this made the 2 drink limit tolerable.
-
What is this case about? can you give some vague or not so vague details?
-
Hey, getting together would be great. I am in Connecticut right now but expect to be back in GRR next week. After I get back we can talk about da tales.
-
ps are you in MI?? what part of the state are you in? Geez I thought we were the only ones. Lena and I are still in Grand Rapids and expect to be here for a couple more years. I haven't talked with the pughs since we graduated. They didn't have the best of reputations while they were here in Grand Rapids. its too bad though, throughout res I really liked them Do you remember Lisa Wolfe? she is here in GR I was sitting in my room, in the lower penninsula of Michigan when I said to my wife Lena, Lena.. Naw really, My biggest there I was story was the anger incident we had to have. I remember I wasn't geting mad enough and Davie Bedard started pointing his skinning finger into my chest and yelling at me at the top of his lungs. Quiete honestly I wanted to laugh my A$$ off. It was really hard to get mad when you had that little balding head going beserk on me. I was kind a young when I started in res, maybe 23, wasn't much older when I graduated. I didn't really have any great "spiritual anger" It was fun though sitting one night with Larry Ramberg trying to make up a good "there I was" incident for the next day. We were masters of some Bull $h*t. I still talk to Larry once and while. He is a Cop now over in Illinois. I had Meatloaf for dinner so I am really ready for some good junk food, pass the girl scout cookies...

When I was in the corps in Emporia, there was a one donut bounty on Firkins. These I think were used for sacrifices in the old Allen Gym.

OK heres the plan, Grab a beer or a nice glass of wine. (or in my case root beer and cream soda, I love this stuff) and sit at your keyboard and spray. Chips, dip and reminiscing NO NAMETAGS ALLOWED!!!

I was told it was training for a lifetime of Christian Service so the whole time I was in the corps I believed that. More than once I am sure I was a corps nazi and in my defense I was trying to mimic those who taught me. For years I have regreted those times but think I am all the better for it now in that I know what not to do. I work with many different people in my job (I am a mountain guide) and get to see them at their best and their worst. Its nice to know that I have enough knowledge of the Word to help them in learning how to overcome fears and how to put trust in God. I am usually with someone for at least five days at a time so it gives me a chance to really minister to someone. I don't think I would be as effective without the corps training. I will always be thankful for how God had me learn to be the person I am thru the corps.

After I was thrown out of there I continued to do communion. I found thatwhen we were able to keep heart and love in it then it was a "successful" for lack of a better word thing. I used the manner of doing communion I learned from the way and sometimes swerved far from it by doing it like after a dinner, on a sunday morning, etc. I guess the way we were taught to do it during our time w/ TWI is great as long as we keep our hearts in the right place. I don't think God has ever faulted us for not having the right candles or for not having candles at all sometimes.
