  1. "I feel the need....the need for SPEED!"
  2. How about "Miracle on 34th St"?
  3. The Triangular Trade referred to the stops in Africa, the West Indies, and the future US colonies to get rum, and "Molasses to Rum to Slaves" is the full name of the song. I thought about all this the last time I watched the movie of the musical. (Last year- I haven't sat down to watch it this year yet.)
  4. Young Matt Murdock saw a truck about to hit an old man, so he shoved the old man clear. When the truck crashed, a cylinder it was carrying- with radioactive materials- struck him across the eyes, and, in essence, mutated him. The son of boxer "Battlin' Murdock", Matt later learned martial arts from Stick. Stick's order frequently clashed with ninjas known as The Hand. In the stealth ripoff, someone left a pet store with their purchase, and was walking on the sidewalk when they saw a truck moving erratically. A young man pushed an old man clear from being hit head-on. Unfortunately for that young daredevil (what else would you call him?), a cylinder from the back of the truck was thrown clear and struck him in the head. The cylinder continued to fly, and struck the case of baby turtles the purchaser was carrying. The 4 turtles and the cylinder both ended up falling into the sewers. They (the turtles) were found by a rat that had been raised by a martial artist, and somehow mutated on his own. This rat's name was SPLINTER. He raised the 4 turtles, and taught them what he'd picked up imitating the sensei. When they turned out to be intelligent, he used a book on art he'd rescued from a storm drain to come up with names for the turtles- Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael. Occasionally, they clashed with a group of ninjas called "The Foot." That was the black and white comic book origin of Eastman and Laird's "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES." (The panels were reprinted in the main gamebook for their pen and paper RPG, "TMNT and other strangeness.") In the cartoon, a lot of that changed. There was no truck and young man event. There was no sensei raising a rat- Splinter was a sensei who was transformed into a rat. And the 4 turtles with red headbands got different colors to tell them apart more easily (although they still all used different weapons- Leonardo had 2 swords, Michaelangelo had nunchucks, Donatello had a staff, and Raphael used the sai.) "Teenage mutant ninja turtles- heroes on a half-shell! Turtle power!"
  5. Considering the actual answers, that's pretty close. They found tea and MOLASSES on board. They dumped the tea, and they kept the molasses..... which was used to make rum! There was a sequence of trade. Kidnap Africans as slaves, dump them onto farms, grow molasses, bring the molasses to the 13 colonies, process it to rum, then ship the rum to the UK. In this case, they kept the rum and drank it themselves (hardly the first time they'd drunk rum...) George's turn.
  6. "Life moves pretty fast sometimes. If you don't slow down some time and look around, you might miss it."
  7. That reminds me of something.... "FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN," by the Grateful Dead??
  8. Memorable moment from "the Avengers", aka "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" depending on what country you're in, since the UK was worried "the Avengers" would confuse people looking for John Steed and a companion like Peel or King.
  9. No, the singer/songwriter was entirely responsible for that one. Thinking it's about people getting together and being happy, how about this being "THE BRADY BUNCH"? That theme song is iconic, if game shows are to be believed.
  10. (BTW, R&R, in this thread, we usually add more roles if the first round doesn't get answered. Hints tend to be used after several tries, or if there's few roles and they're all up-and usually, nobody can guess who it is anyway. I had a problem like that with FRANK NELSON, since everybody knows his voice and his face but few people remember his name.)
  11. Ok, for lack of anything funny, here's another one WordPup can answer, IIRC. All of you have heard of the famous "Boston Tea Party." Most people know a few details. I'm curious if you know all the main details (as I see them, at least.) So, please answer all parts.... A) Where did it take place? (More specific than "what city".) B) How did the rebelling colonists dress for it? C) What TWO commodities did it involve? D) What did the colonists do with EACH commodity? I'm guessing you can all answer A & B but probably not C &D IN FULL. Then again, perhaps you will surprise me- it's happened before.
  12. George said "NUMBERS", which is the title of this Kraftwerk song, so it's his turn. The PREVIOUS song (the one I liked) by Kraftwerk was "Trans Europe Express." (WordPup prefers "Numbers.")
  13. "Young Frankenstein." Now, to the next movie. "Springtime for Hitler and Germany, Winter for Poland and France." *sung*
  14. You said they were "counting." What does that mean, to count? And if you can't answer that question, is there a 5-year old nearby that you can ask to explain what counting is?
  15. So, we all know they counted in German, French, Italian and Japanese. Can anyone other than Raf actually tell me what it was they were counting? Or what you're saying if you're counting out loud? I'd swear George is working hard to avoid saying the one word that will end this round. You're all making this MUCH harder than it has to be.
  16. Seriously, no? Um, ok, ah, how about Family TIes' "What Would We Do Baby, Without Us"?
  17. American Graffiti Harrison Ford Presumed Innocent
  18. Love At First Bite Dick Shawn It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
