  1. I connected Stacy Keach with Mike Hammer, but couldn't remember the name of any show with Mike Hammer in it. Oops.
  2. I'll open this to anyyone. I've been stalling song threads lately.
  3. Ok, then I think this would be "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In Plain Sight."
  4. That's been sub-referenced so many times I can't connect it to even 1 movie.
  5. I'm thinking part is "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in" but I'm stuck on the other. BTW, where I'm posting from, TV shows are not on the same networks as you're getting, usually, so the USA Network reference either means I've never heard of the show or it's not on that network here. It might help others, though.
  6. I think this is Bob Dylan, but that's all I've got.
  7. Ok, I give up. This is Colbie Caillat's song "Bubbly." FREE POST!
  8. Persis Khambatta, of course. I recall comedian John Mendoza, who said something like "I'm feeling kind-of obnoxious today. I'm in the kind of mood where you want to walk up behind a bald man and go 'wax on, wax off.' " I heard that in my head when answering your post. :)
  9. Ok, got something.... Mad House John LaRoquette Stripes
  10. "Will you count me in?" "The rain is fallin' on my window pane But we are hidin' in a safer place. Under covers stayin' dry and warm You give me feelings that I adore." "I've been asleep for a while now. You tuck me in just like a child now. 'Cause every time you hold me in your arms I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth. And it starts in my soul And I lose all control. When you kiss my nose The feeling shows. 'Cause you make me smile, Baby just take your time Now holdin' me tight."
  11. "Star Trek:the Motion Picture." Have they been airing on TV on your area this month? One actress in that movie reminds me of a different quote from a different movie, which I will use as my next clue. "Wax on, wax off."
  12. "Can you count me in?" "The rain is fallin' on my window pane But we are hidin' in a safer place. Under covers stayin' dry and warm You give me feelings that I adore."
  13. Ok, I'm closing this one out. It's Jason Mraz' "Curbside Prophet." He does change the lyrics with different shows, a little. I like the one on YouTube where John Popper plays harmonica and the crowd jumps in at the right times. I like that song, and his duet with Colbie Caillat, "Lucky." ====================================== Ok, next song. "Can you count me in?"
  14. By George, he hasn't got it! Think of Rex Harrison. This was a musical number in "My Fair Lady."
  15. "With my hand in my pocket and I'm waiting for my rocket to come. "y’see it started way back in NYC when i stole my first rhyme from the m.i.c. at a west end avenue at '63 the beginning of a leap year, february, ’96 with a guitar picked up in the mix i committed to the licks like a nickel bag of tricks well look at me now and look at you now and look at us now, now, now, now." "Well you're never gonna guess Where I've been been been And I have no regrets That I bet my whole checking account Because it all amounts to nothing up in the end Well you can only count on the road again. We'll soon be on the radio dial And I been payin' close attention to the Willie Nelson style Like a band of gypsies on the highway while I'm one man pushin' on the California skyline Drive up the coast I brag the most 'Cuz I'm pickin' up my pace and makin' time like Space Ghost Raising a toast to the highway patrol with the most Put my cruise control on coast" "see i'm a down home brother, redneck undercover with my guitar here i'm ready to play and i'm s a sucker for a filly got a natural ability I'm geared to freestyle look at my flexibility dangerous at the mike my ghetto hat's cocked right the ladies say, "yo, that kid is crazy" "Hey, hey something's different in my world today Well they changed my traffic sign to a brighter yellow." If nobody gets it now, I'll give it up.
  16. You posted the correct answer-it was "Airplane!" Starring Leslie Nielsen. Airport '77 or whatever year was the movie they spoofed with this one. Your turn.

    Horseplay!

One might argue this could have fit in "About the Way" because of how the issue was addressed once the pervert was caught. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/08/24/naked-church-camp-counselor-touches-13-year-old-boy-with-penis-church-calls-it-horseplay/#ixzz2cvl60u2I "She went to the police instead. Good for her. The level of denial in this story is so deep and dark, that it’s almost like a bottomless pit. The more you try to peer into the minds of these people, the darker and more frightening it becomes. The excuses, the attempts at justification, the lengths to which these church members have gone to, to try to make this behavior seem OK, is just astonishing. Yes, it’s hard to admit that someone you know and maybe even like or consider a friend, is a pervert in every sense of the word. But when the denial is so extreme that it makes you believe that something like this was just “fun and games” or that it was “an attempt at discipline” it’s time to take another look at your own motivation. A child was harmed. There is no excuse for that. The harder you try to think of one, the more ignorant you sound." We've seen similar justifications and rationalizations for why vpw and his criminal gang didn't actually do bad things when they performed felonies.
  18. "Surely you can't be serious!" "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley!"
  19. Midnight Cowboy? I know it's Dustin Hoffman, and I read that it may have been improvised, because someone moved a car while he was doing the scene and he reacted in-character.

  21. In real Christian groups, this would be seen as a no-brainer. A couple fooled around, and there's a baby on the way. What should they do? Duh-they get married and raise the child. You'd get odd looks suggesting there were other options. And the idea that it would be BETTER to have an abortion and end the relationship because they were supposed to enter a program- or stay in a program- of the group would get everyone to stare at you as if you'd lost your mind-which they'd suspect happened if you said that.
  22. It sounds like it should be familiar, but I'm not getting it.
