TWI and Forcing Harmony in the Bible
WordWolf replied to Raf's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
IIRC, I have both JCOP and the twi Harmony of the Gospels (I think) in storage. I'll have to dig them out and get back to you. As in, next week. -
They are indeed. The actors in question played in those scenes. The sight of Dana Carvey dressed as Khan, with a food inspector, trying to shut down the restaurant, was enough to crack up the audience.

"I've seen you on the beach and I've seen you on TV. Two of a billion stars. It means so much to me Like a birthday or a pretty view. But then I'm sure that you know it's just for you." "Hey now woo, look at that did he nearly run you down At the end of the drive, the lawmen arrive you make me feel Alive, alive, alive. I'll take my chance, 'cause luck is on my side Or something, I know what you're thinking. I'll tell you something, I know what you're thinking." "She don't need to understand. And I might find her if I'm looking like I can."

Patrick Stewart was on "Love Boat:the Next Generation" as Captain Picard? Yes, according to this television show..... William Shatner operated the USS Enterprise as a restaurant as Captain Kirk? Yes, according to the same show- which had a patron needing the Heimlich Maneuver. "Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not-oh."
-
I remember that moment as Worf playing Hambone. (Twice in the episode, IIRC.) However, that is not the series I'm talking about here.

I forgot they redid that television show. This reminds me of the running gags concerning the "primitive" island of Kooeykooeykooey. This was the new version of "the Love Boat."

That's him. I'm trying very hard to keep them in order after receiving complaints. :)

We meet a small boy who is the offspring of a monarch on another planet. When he gets older, his sister sees a Psychiatrist. He talks to the shrink and falls in love with her. Stars Nick Nolte and Barbra Streisand.

"In the Air Tonight", Phil Collins. Phil said he has no idea where weird stories about the origin of this song come from. Some people said it has something to do with Phil seeing a man able to help a drowning victim or something and refusing to help. So Phil finds out who he is, and sends him a front-row ticket. He then sings this (brand new) song entirely at the guy, who then goes home and commits suicide. Phil said a lot of his songs are about divorce, and that's all I've heard about this.

Oddly enough, I have "ROBOCOP" on DVD, but I've never actually sat down to watch it. (There are a few movies like that.) I recognized the quote now because they're considering remaking the thing and I came across an online description that included a quote we just saw. (I stumbled across it by accident, I didn't do a search.)

There's 2 correct answers to that. "Some silicone sister with her manager's mister told me I got what it takes. She said, 'I'll turn you on sonny, to something strong if you play that song with the funky break.' And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe to go outside. And little Early-Pearly came in by her curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride. Oh, some hazard from Harvard was skunked on beer playin' backyard bombardier. Yes and Scotland Yard was trying hard, they sent a dude with a calling card. he said, do what you like, but don't do it here. Well I jumped up, turned around, spit in the air, fell on the ground Asked him which was the way back home. He said take a right at the light, keep goin' straight until night, and then boy, you're on your own." "Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun. Oh, but Mama, that's where the fun is."

It sounds like it because that's what it is. Go.

"Easy, Miss. I've got you." "You've got ME? Who's got YOU??"

So, then, is it "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure, featuring lead singer Robert Smith?
-
*thinks* Hm. Sounds familiar. But what's the title.... Is this "Paradise" by the band "Remedy", featuring lead singer Bob Jones? Am I close? Maybe not, but go to YouTube sometime and check out the songs I put up recently. They're quite good.

Both, actually, ARE pretty well-known lines from the movie, usually for different people. "Ferris Buehler's Day Off."
