Naturally, among all the other frauds, the only real drama vpw laid claim to was a FAKE also. When looked at coldly by the light of day, the thing vpw taught bore no resemblance to the thing in the Bible- except where it was CLAIMED to be so. However, what we were taught was totally fake-able and able to be produced by non-Christians trying to fake things. That's why vpw-the-fraud was able to use it- it was as fraudulent as him! I am not convinced the real thing isn't possible now. I am convinced what we experienced and were taught-THAT was fake. If the real thing is out there, we'll never find it by being convinced that a fake is the real thing instead. It's a nice microcosm of the entire twi experience vs God Almighty. Those who convince themselves this fake is the real deal won't even TRY to find the real thing.

That's it. The female co-star that Gina Lollabrigida played alongside was the goat! That's why "she" was insured but not named in the credits.

It's interesting to connect the dots on the Leonard class, also. Mrs W said Leonard really knew his stuff, both from the Bible and in practice, and taught effectively. vpw later said (in one of the few mentions EVER of Leonard) that his knowledge of the Bible was deficient. vpw pushed his way into one of Leonard's classes. vpw phoned and was told it was already in progress so he'd have to wait for the next one. vpw showed up anyway and demanded to be let in. Leonard was a nice guy and put up with it. Then vpw came back a few months later with new students and to retake it. A few months after THAT, vpw asked Leonard for permission to run LEONARD's class locally on a one-time basis. Leonard agreed, and later received a photo of the grads of Leonard's class. Meanwhile, vpw told all the students that it was vpw's class, which he maintained to his grave. He also continued to teach Leonard's class as often as he could, only later adding things like Stiles' book and Bullinger's material. Also, Leonard was about training the ministers so they could help their own congregations. vpw was about setting things up so that others were DEPENDENT UPON HIM, putting forth that himself was some great one.

Irving Thalberg produced this one for RKO. Laughton's makeup took 2 1/2 hours each day of filming with him. -The first silent version and the first color version were both French productions. (The "talkie" starred Anthony Quinn and Gina Lollobrigida.) Gina Lollobridiga's "female co-star" was insured for 2 million francs. Despite all her screen-time, she does not appear in Imdb cast listing. -At least 1 was animated. (Someone thought this was a good children's story? Apparently... Oddly enough, the US and Australia both thought that. Why? No idea.) The 1996 animated version featured the voice talents of Jason Alexander and Demi Moore, Kevin Kline and David Ogden Stiers. Kline: "Achilles-heel!" -There were television films as well. (One starred Richard Harris, Salma Hayek, and Mandy Patinkin.) And a Carol Burnett spoof. And Canada, Germany and Denmark made musicals. (Why those countries? No idea.)

Mandy Patinkin was on at least 1 season of "Criminal Minds." He's also sung concerts and so on. He's said that he doesn't leave the stage without giving the people what they showed up for. He stops, and says "MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA. YOU KILLED MY FATHER. PREPARE TO DIE." The audience goes bananas, and then he can leave.

vpw insisted on a multi-year program, then hustled to find make-work to fill all 4 years- all of which the participants paid for. Part of it was to take (re-take, mostly) every single class twi had out. (If you were that dedicated, you took most of them already before signing up.) All of those take less than a year. In fact, we could probably have seen them all done in 4 months (6 if they were stretched out.) The rest of the time was filled in with physical exercise (with no trained medical personnel onsite in case of injury), manual labor (cheaper than free- the students PAID and were sent to WORK manual labor), and sometimes other things like learning sales or reviewing how to pack a suitcase more efficiently. vpw wanted a multi-year program, not an efficient method of passing on knowledge. With the years, he got to instill artificial loyalty alongside the material. And lots of "cheap" labor to renovate and upkeep the grounds at different locations. (A place to stay, cheap food, and they paid to be there.)

Some years ago, an acquaintance was telling me about an incident he had driving, when he had to swerve sharply to avoid hitting a *mumble*. Me:"A what?" Him:"Doe. A deer. A female deer." Me:"Ray-a drop of golden Sun." At which point we both busted out laughing.

How about standing AND applauding? I've caught twi doing the "I will trick you into standing for the speaker" thing. We sang songs, and were asked to stand for the last one, and were standing while we finished it and the speaker came out. Nobody had the nerve to be honest about having done it deliberately.
