"Now, I know your mama, she don't like me, 'cause I play in a rock and roll band, And I know your daddy, he don't dig me, but he never did understand. Your papa lowered the boom, he locked you in your room-- I'm comin' to lend a hand. I'm comin' to liberate you, confiscate you, I want to be your man. Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny. But now you're sad, your mama's mad And your papa says he knows that I don't have any money. Your papa says he knows that I don't have any money. Oh, your daddy says he knows that I don't have any money. Well, tell him this is his last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance 'Cause a record company, Rosie, just gave me a big advance! "

You might as well forget it- his Bachelor's in Psychology wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. After getting his degree, he saw someone have some sort of psychiatric episode, and the best description he could give was they "went gooney-bird." He also had no suggestions for what to do for the person other than pretend they need no assistance, which is what vpw did, while sending them home on a Greyhound bus. A WEEK LATER, they turned up home. (God only knows what happened during that week. The person was in need of a medical diagnosis and some treatment before attempting any trip, let alone a trip ALONE.) I'm impressed they turned up ALIVE at home.

I've heard the line a number of times the past few years, and recently saw much of the first movie. (I still haven't sat down for the whole thing yet.)

You can play on all the threads you want. Just mind the rules of that thread. Some of them are fascinating. :) "When Harry Met Sally." =========================================== How about this for a recognizable quote? I don't think we've used it before... "May the odds be ever in your favor."
-
Is this "the Last Action Hero"?
-
Thanks. I'm behind on Supergirl, but caught up on everything else. I should be able to catch up within about a week.

"By George, I think she's got it!"

It's "Pulp Fiction."

That's it. Studio executive Brandon Tartikoff told Rick Berman what concept to prep for the new series-and that there was a new series to prep.
-
That's it. (I would have accepted just the song at that point.)

I hallucinate it's my turn, then it's my turn. This week is getting surreal. ====================== When Deep Space 9 was started, they thought about a specific TV series from the black-and-white days. So, we got a guy who moves into a "frontier" area with his son, and is in charge of keeping order. What show's concept did they use?

I don't have one ready- so please go with yours. :)

"And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies, When everything feels like the movies Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive."

And this was Musical Youth's "Pass the Dutchie."

In the interests of encouraging more players, I'm ceding my turn to krys, so this is officially the current quote.

"This generation rules the nation with version. Music happen to be the food of love. Sounds to really make you rub and scrub." "It was a cool and lovely breezy afternoon (How does it feel when you've got no food?) You could feel it 'cause it was the month of June (How does it feel when you've got no food?) So I left my gate and went out for a walk (How does it feel when you've got no food?) As I pass the dreadlocks' camp I heard them say (How does it feel when you've got no food ?)" "So I stopped to find out what was going on (How does it feel when you've got no food?) 'Cause the spirit of Jah, you know, He leads you on (How does it feel when you've got no food?) There was a ring of dreads and a session was there in swing (How does it feel when you've got no food?) You could feel the chill as I seen and heard them say (How does it feel when you've got no food?)"

Hyperbolic writing is sometimes LAZY writing. That's the case here. The writer IS correct that there's a LOT of nosy people who seem to be determined to push that idea, and that's intenational. However, it doesn't even fall under the heading "cult of personality."
