  1. His most famous roles were probably Charlie Chaplin and Tony Stark, both of which are in the list of roles I posted. So, yes, Robert Downey Jr. He was in a lot of stuff, wasn't he? I was getting ready to add Sherlock Holmes, if that was really needed.
  2. No, LT was one of many who may have repeated the first quote, but exactly one character says the second- the character who is the first to say the first quote.
  3. These are all roles. And you're not paying attention.

  5. "Even a man who is pure in heart And says his prayers by night May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms And the autumn moon is bright." "The way you walked was thorny, through no fault of your own, but as the rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run to a predestined end. Your suffering is over, Bela my son. Now you will find peace."

  8. Hello there! (I keep forgetting to check this forum so I tend to arrive late to the party.) Glad to have you aboard! " My mom first go involved with it back in the 70s/80s in Northern California and then sought it out again in NC when she was going through a particularly tough time in her life." As I see it, twi was a handful of people until the end of the 1960s. vpw read about those hippie Christians who were getting lots of attention and young recruits. He went to Southern Cal and managed to con a handful of Christians in a legitimate Christian movement, and convince them that he was part of one also. So, they became the recruiting arm of twi. He sent them to NY and California. People in both places got exposure to legitimate Christians with love and power, who claimed (falsely but naively) that twi was part of the answers rather than some parasite hanging off those with the answers. So, people exposed to THEM joined, and those people recruited others, and so on. The experience on the field was almost a completely different organization than the experience from twi HQ and so on. The closer anyone got to HQ, the more damaged they got. The closer people from HQ got to people on the field, the more damaged they got (the people on the field.) About 1988-1989 was when craig managed to chase off 80% of the remaining membership. With them left pretty much anyone who'd "descended" from those original Christians, and since then, all twi has had was a legalistic organization that cracks the whip and forces conformity. So, if anything has changed most radically over the decades (and there have been changes), I would say the biggest one was bringing in the legitimate Christians, and chasing off the legitimate Christians. In between was telling people that those people's successes were due to twi and not completely unrelated to twi itself. That's how your Mom got hooked. She remembered legitimate Christians from the 70s/80s who were all chased off by the 90s, and didn't notice the difference. (I went to ROA 88 and ROA 89, before and after the big chase-off, and the difference was shocking. Like a number of people, I exited completely at the end of ROA 89.) I'm sorry you had to live through twi post-Christianity.
  9. Ok, I didn't see that one coming. Colonel Steve Trevor was rescued by WONDER WOMAN, named "Diana" (not Artemis, although that was a different amazon.) Who else made it from the 40s? Let's see. 40s was Golden Age(Jay Garrick, Alan Scott), 50s was Silver Age (Barry Allen, Hal Jordan.) Who was around that long and wasn't completely redone in the 50s (like the 2 Flashes and 2 Green Lanterns I mentioned)? 5 of them? Let's see. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman. Green Arrow. Who's the 5th? Aquaman? Robin?
  10. "You'll be seeing a lot of changes around here. Papa's got a brand new bag."
  11. Sounds like it may borrow from "the Odyssey", but otherwise it doesn't ring any kind of bell.

  13. What WAS the name of that character actor with the matching face again? Oh, yeah... Steve Buscemi Big FIsh Helena Bonham Carter
  14. "Thanks for the tip, but I don't think the Bible needs to be argued over. I'm not into apologetics." You are in a DISCUSSION forum. We DISCUSS things here. You can either dump links, post a bunch of bald claims then storm off indignant when asked to support them, or you can DISCUSS. If you can't tell the difference between those 3, you're going to have a rough time in most DISCUSSIONS online. (Places where everyone just pats each other on the back for agreeing with each other don't really discuss- and IMHO aren't very healthy for a growing spiritual life.) "Come on now Rocky, are you telling me you don't know the general message of the Bible? I think it says things generally go better when aligned with the Bible as opposed to going against it, " A)THAT'S the "general message of the Bible"? B) The Bible has a "general message"? It's a codex, and I think each book of the book of books has a general purpose (message?) and there's general points made. If there is a single, GENERAL message OVERALL, I'd be rather disappointed it was that one. I think proponents of The Red Thread make a better "argument" for a "general message" that actually means something- and I'm sure you've heard at least a little of their supporting verses. "The Bereans didn't demand Paul back up all his claims (Acts 17:11). They searched the scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true or not." You have the full text of what they discussed the whole time, and can prove that Paul made a bunch of claims and didn't support them from Scripture? It seems to me that Paul was used to actually supporting his claims when he preached. Acts 17:1-4. (KJV) "17 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few." Acts 17:1-4. (NASB) "17 Now when they had traveled through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2 And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.” That was in Thessalonica. (17:1). The main problem in Thessalonica was when the religious authorities stirred up a mob. Acts 17:4-8 (NASB) "4 And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large number of the God-fearing Greeks and a number of the leading women. 5 But the Jews, becoming jealous and taking along some wicked men from the market place, formed a mob and set the city in an uproar; and attacking the house of Jason, they were seeking to bring them out to the people. 6 When they did not find them, they began dragging Jason and some brethren before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have upset the world have come here also; 7 and Jason has welcomed them, and they all act contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.” 8 They stirred up the crowd and the city authorities who heard these things." "The Bereans didn't demand Paul back up all his claims (Acts 17:11). They searched the scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true or not. They were more noble than the Thessalonians who wanted to string him up." A) You INFERRED that Paul didn't back up his claims when in Berea. Paul suddenly changed his presentation style radically? And that without a verse saying so, and you just happen to know that anyway? B) The mob was the problem. There were respectable Christians in Thessalonica as a result of Paul preaching and making sense to the Thessalonians. Why do you think there ARE letters (plural) to the saints at Thessalonica? Some believed- and The Word says so-we just read that. "I'm also trying real hard to see how the methods of argument people make here are much different than mine. Other than being on flip sides of the coin, they seem pretty much alike. " I can only speak for myself. Everyone else can see the difference with what I just posted, and what you posted and I replied to (which now, at least, actually addressed some verses, which was, again, an improvement.) Now you have a basis of comparison. Compare them side-by-side if needed.
  15. Being fair and logical, I'd acknowledge that you've acknowledged that you need to support claims and statements, and not just toss them out baldly. In any discussion, that's necessary. However, you didn't fulfill the minimum REASONABLE requirement. You dumped a bunch of verse citations, and said that they cover "the central message." Anyone reasonable would expect the following. [claim made] "This matches Hekekiah 8:42, which says "[verse quoted.] If it's a single verse, people might give you a pass on posting the text of the verse, especially if the meaning of the verse is obvious. If there's anything contestable, they're free to post the verse, point out the problem, and point out that failing to post the verse looks like you were trying to pretend there was a Scriptural basis for a non-Scriptural point, and used an irrelevant verse to conceal that, hoping nobody would check it. (vpw did that quite a bit when text-dumping- just look at his stuff on the manifestations in the Advanced Class, and you'll find a bunch without looking hard.) Even if I might agree with your points, or might match your thinking if I saw their basis, if you just make bald claims, then make bald claims that they have a Scriptural basis, I'm NOT going to take you seriously- and neither would most people. Don't think that's specific to either you, us, or this subject. That's pretty much what you find in MOST of cyberspace- providing it's a place of actual discussions. (Places where people trade insults and places where people just pat each other on the back won't look that way, either one.

  17. Another clue or something, please?
  18. Star Wars Episode 3-Revenge of the Sith.
  19. Only the name "Bullinger" was well-known. Kenyon was known to some, and Stiles and Leonard were actively concealed, even to their names and existences. vpw made a doctrine out of contrasting with :"world's wisdom"-but the hypocrite lauded to the skies any "worldly expert" who took pfal. Don't take vpw as an expert on anything but fleecing the public.
  20. Yes, well and happy and hoping you are as well. (It sounds like you are.) Wordpup and Mrs Wolf are well and happy also [Bullinger.] This thread is a workaround to old documents: http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/topic/24519-greasespot-cafe-documents-and-audio-archives/ That's to the Greasespot Cafe Documents and Audio Archives. The document you mentioned was not listed in "Waydale Editorials"- it was listed in :GSC Editorials. The menu for that is here: http://web.archive.org/web/20030402054832/http://greasespotcafe.com:80/main/editorial.htm The direct link for "Destruction of Self" is here: http://web.archive.org/web/20030306031357/http://www.greasespotcafe.com:80/editorial/destruction-self.htm
  21. This is still a thread for reading some version of the documents and hearing the audio archives.
  22. Since I have a few minutes, I'll take one shot while I can. (Mrs Wolf and I didn't have spare time for this.) "Turnabout Intruder" was the Original Series' finale. "All Good Things" was the finale for NextGen. I think "What You Leave Behind" ended Deep Space 9 (Mrs Wolf would know for sure.) That leaves 2 and 2. I think Voyager ended with a fight, which would suggest Voyager ended with "Endgame." I think Enterprise was the one that ended with all the quotes, so I suspect that was "These Are the Voyages..." Whether I'm right or wrong, carry on without me for now, I'm heading out on vacation.
