  1. That's them. For some reason, the 3 of them decided to name themselves after 2 characters from "Tintin." I imagined the 3 members of the Pizzicato Five did much the same. However, they actually started as 5, whereas the Thompson Twins started as more than 2, and both were famous with 3 members. Show business is strange. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomson_and_Thompson
  2. "Oh, Frank, my lips are hot. Kiss my hot lips!"
  3. "I saw you there, just standing there And I thought, I was only dreaming yeah. I kissed you then, then once again You said you would come and dance with me. Dance with me, across the sea And we could feel the motion of a thousand dreams."
  4. "The city streets are empty now (The lights don't shine no more) And so the songs are way down low. A sound that flows into my mind (The echoes of the daylight) Of everything that is alive (In my blue world)." "I [TITLE] when you are gone, I [TITLE]. [TITLE] when you comin' home, I can't go on. [TITLE] when you are gone, I [TITLE]."
  5. Dream Academy, "Life in a Northern Town." Working title for the song was "the Morning Lasted All Day."
  6. The Social Network Jesse Eisenberg Cursed
  7. I'd seen individuals who were generous in twi. I'd seen a few people who'd help someone together. What we DIDN'T see was TWI being generous with finances- once money gets to the top, it stays there, almost always.
  8. Shortening my reply (I had an internet outage at an inconvenient time, as if there's a convenient one). If we take it as a given that the Bible is accurate, then we accept the verses that state that God kept some information to Himself, and does so as a policy. (That's sensible for any planner, and standard operating procedure for anyone who's studied "the Art of War.") Therefore, some things have not been revealed now, and some things were revealed later than some people might want them revealed. (Let me know if you need the verses, that's what I'm skimping on. I can cite them later.) So, the question pertaining to this subject is- what did He reveal concerning salvation, to whom did He reveal it, and when did He reveal it? If we take it as a given that the Bible is inaccurate, then we view the book as an account of what someone believed at the time each book was written. The question then becomes what does it reflect about what was believed at the time, who believed it, and when was it believed? The questions overlap and take us to the same verses in the OT looking for the answers.
  9. IMHO, at least in my experience, that's true-but only to a point. The draw for the group is at the lowest level. The higher up the ladder you go, the more control and manipulation there is. So, at the lowest level, the control is lesser because otherwise, they'd never draw any new suckers into their web. So, any control has to be more muted, more subtle. If the bottom-rung leader is actually a nice person (still possible, but less likely), the manipulation is even less because they're not always aware when standard twi tactics ARE control tactics. So they don't MEAN to manipulate, so they do so by accident.
  10. Raf, when I have time tonight, do you mind me trying to rephrase your question? I think this is a "language" confusion issue more than anything else.
  11. "I [TITLE] when you are gone, I [TITLE]. [TITLE] when you comin' home, I can't go on. [TITLE] when you are gone, I [TITLE]."
  12. All kidding aside, the answer is "Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth," off Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell 2." For some reason, I was misremembering it beginning with "Wasted Youth" directly. Off the other album. Gotta dust them off! Here's "Wasted Youth:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7zSUMvWjSU "Bat Out of Hell" had a different spoken word, "Hot Summer Night", and THAT led into this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t11CwlG444
  13. Apparently. Naturally, I would have gotten it from the "Hamlet" drop. Should have called in Mrs Wolf and seen if she'd remembered a role I couldn't remember. I SHOULD have finished remembering "Jack Valentine.:" BTW, if "Allen Falcon" wasn't a reference to the role "Woody Boyd" from Cheers, what was the clue?
  14. Somebody who wasted their youth, it seems....
  15. Correct on both. Probably his 2 best songs, but I'm sure there would be some disagreements as to which were his 2 best.
  16. *gets the clue* *pictures the actor's face* *tries to get a name* *pictures some of his other roles* "Woody Harrelson"?
  17. Running Man Erland van Lidth Stir Crazy
  18. You are correct! (And the usage of "Wolfie" made me do a double-take and recheck who was posting.) Harry Potter fans might recognize the actors/ actresses for Professor Slughorn and Madame Pomfrey, as well as Moaning Myrtle.
  19. Just a casual reminder that checking the "Biblical Unitarian" site is not exactly checking a non-twi source. That site's run by an ex-twi splinter group. So, don't be surprised if it doesn't feel the same-complete with the casual arrogance that only THEY have The Truth. There's been some criticisms of some of their errors here, including that Momentus debacle they've nether acknowledged, repented from, nor stopped recruiting for under-the-table. That's no guarantee anything there will automatically be error, but I recommend approaching with caution because some of their stuff IS error. BTW, I agree that the Trinity is a non-critical subject, in that I've seen excellent and horrible examples of Christians of either side of that dividing line.
  20. Ok, same artist, different song. "Billy left his home with a dollar in his pocket and a head full of dreams. He said somehow, some way, it's gotta get better than this. Patti packed her bags, left a note for her momma, she was just seventeen, there were tears in her eyes when she kissed her little sister goodbye."
  21. Ok, let's see.... This movie was inspired by "Pride and Prejudice." 3 of its actors/actresses also appeared in the Harry Potter movie series, as recurring characters. Another was Salman Rushdie, who played himself. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth appeared in it, and improvised their fight scene. This movie was the first of a trilogy that has been directed solely by female directors. (Why, then, is the main character so obsessed over her weight?)
