  2. "Sushi. That's what my ex-wife used to call me. "Cold fish." " "That gibberish he talked was city speak, gutter talk. A mishmash of Japanese, Spanish, German, what have you. I didn't really need a translator, I knew the lingo, every good cop did. But I wasn't going to make it easier for him." ""Skin jobs". That's what Bryant called Replicants. In history books he's the kind of cop who used to call black men "niggers". "I was quit when I came in here. I'm twice as quit now." "It's too bad she won't live. But then again, who does?" "You were made as well as we could make you." "But not to last." "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly, Roy. " "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." "Replicants are like any other machine. They're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, it's not my problem." "The report would be "routine retirement of a Replicant", which didn't make me feel any better about shooting a woman in the back. There it was again... feeling in myself... for her... for Rachael."
  3. Well, you're right in that. A lot of people would have gotten it from that last one. I could have gotten it from that, the one about someone not living, or the first one.
  4. I finally saw that line! That's Topo Gigio on "the Ed Sullivan Show."
  5. In "Underworld", he played Viktor, one of the head vampires, the one Selene worked for. In "Love Actually" he played Billy Mack, the aging rock star who re-released an old song as a Christmas song, and made a promise the the public about what he'd do if his album headed the charts on Christmas. ("Christmas is All Around Us.")
  6. "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse." "We have known each other many years, but this is the first time you've come to me for counsel or for help. I can't remember the last time you invited me to your house for a cup of coffee, even though my wife is godmother to your only child." "You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it."

  9. Hm. Well, I thought that was the answer. Since that wasn't it, I'm not going to play coy. Based on the clues, and it NOT being "Walk the Line," I'm going with "GREAT BALLS OF FIRE." The story of Jerry Lee Lewis.

  11. I've heard this song before, but I can't recall the beat, so I can't get the rest of the song.
  12. He said "Drag-Net" first, it's Human's turn!
  13. Since George didn't recognize them, and the thread is young, I thought I'd enable some "help files." Give me a bit of time on this.
  14. "THE MUSIC MAN." The alleged "Professor" Harold Hill brings his con game to River City. Despite the fact that he can't tell one note from another, he convinces the town that the installation of its first billiards table will lead to depravity among the youths. ("We got Trouble! Right here in River CIty! With a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pool!") The only possible solution is to buy a boy band from him. He will organize the boys into a marching band, with 76 trombones in the lead, and so on.
  15. No, it was a takeoff on the other well-known song from the movie.
  16. Next movie. "Sushi. That's what my ex-wife used to call me. "Cold fish." " "That gibberish he talked was city speak, gutter talk. A mishmash of Japanese, Spanish, German, what have you. I didn't really need a translator, I knew the lingo, every good cop did. But I wasn't going to make it easier for him." "In history books he's the kind of cop who used to call black men "niggers". 20. I don't know the first one. The third one isn't from "The Incredible Mr Limpet", so it MUST be from "SPLASH." The last one sounds like it might be from "Philadelphia." If so, the second quote might be from 'Turner and Hooch." With no idea on the first one, that still gives me TOM HANKS.
  21. Looks like we got Trouble. Right here in Greasespot City. With a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Posts.
  22. They each did it while playing for 2 different teams in the same year????? (Wild guess.)
