  1. The theme song from "Working GIrl"... was it "Let The River Run"????
  2. Star Wars Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back.
  3. The version of the story I read, apparently, lost a LOT in the translation.
  4. *looks it up* No, but I'll add some more names of roles with the same actor.
  5. "What we have here is a failure to communicate."
  6. I was lost until the short letters. I once read that they were 2 telegrams. Since telegrams don't contain characters, that can't possibly be the original form of the story. Was this VICTOR HUGO asking about how sales were for the book "LES MISERABLES"?
  7. I know of 2 versions of a film on that story in my lifetime. I saw the other one, where it was a film of a stage production, where the actor playing John Merrick wore no makeup. As a kid, I disliked that but watched the film. As I got older, I came to agree with what must have been the reason to use no makeup- that is, the play was focusing on his humanity and how he really wasn't that different. I know there was at least one other version, but I don't really know anything about it except they DID use the makeup. Confuse the audience....makeup.... was it JOHN LANDIS?
  8. So, in twi, they're using plagiarized materials, and charging large sums for classes that have a negligible expense for them. The books are published in-house on the cheap, and marked up for retail prices. None of the content has been improved, and it's just got a new paint job. Not stated, but obvious with twi, was that- once again- everyone's now required to take the new classes all over again, and not considered grads of the new stuff just because they sat through 100% of the same material previously. Personally, I think the increased price per student is meant to offset the decreased numbers. Where they used to have 7-14 new students and a $40 class, they now have 3 new students (or rooms of grads retaking the new thing again "for the first time" and charge so much more to squeeze more money out of those leaned on to take the "new" class. As if it was costing twi much to run the thing- almost all expenses are borne by locals out-of-pocket, and the printing costs are covered several times over in the retail prices of the books. So, really, twi is re-treading what's already been re-treaded.
  9. Correct. I was getting ready to put a different song by the same artist, instead. I was, however, going to skip "Psycho-killer" as an option. Personally, I think this is a nice little song that is under-estimated. Then again, the same might be said of the Talking Heads as a whole.
  10. Trading Places Denholm Elliott Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
  11. Wild swing time. "Soapdish?" "Switching Channels"?
  12. If it were true that bands had to tour together on the basis of their names (Styx and the Stones, Ratt Poison...) , then this band was the one that would have to tour WITH Simple Minds.
  13. "And she could hear the highway breathing And she could see a nearby factory. She's making sure she is not dreaming. See the lights of a neighbor's house. Now she's starting to rise. Take a minute to concentrate And she opens up her eyes." "Rising up above the earth. Moving into the universe And she's drifting this way and that. Not touching the ground at all And she's up above the yard." "no doubt about it She isn't sure about what she's done. No time to think about what to tell them. No time to think about what she's done" "And things were looking like a movie She had a pleasant elevation She's moving out in all directions,"
  14. Raf! I saw in another thread you're suspected to have killed Mufasa. I was shocked. I would never have pictured you as a psycho-killer....
  15. Getting medieval is almost certainly "Pulp Fiction." (It's been quoted around.)
  16. I've heard people quote "the Fifth Element" before, but none quoted that. IMHO, it's not the best-known quote from the movie.
  17. "She's making sure she is not dreaming. See the lights of a neighbor's house. Now she's starting to rise. Take a minute to concentrate And she opens up her eyes." "Moving into the universe And she's drifting this way and that. Not touching the ground at all And she's up above the yard." "no doubt about it She isn't sure about what she's done. No time to think about what to tell them. No time to think about what she's done"
  18. Next song. "Moving into the universe And she's drifting this way and that. Not touching the ground at all And she's up above the yard."
  19. https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/thompsontwins/layyourhandsonme.html Confirmed that's the correct song. Oddly enough, about 1/2 the song would have stumped me if posted, but the first post included the line I remember best. That happens sometimes. Moving on....
  20. Then how about "Lay Your Hands On Me", by The Thompson Twins. (A band of 3 people, none of whom were twins, none of whom were named Thompson, all of whom were named after supporting characters in "TinTin." For the record, those guys, Thomson and Thompson, were not related by blood, but appeared like identical twins, making them "twin" but not "twins.")
