When it came to vpw, his talk was often about how much he loved everyone, especially the corps. When it came time to view his actions, the corps were not simply "the help", you were part of the set and setting. He thought of you as invisible, and there to do all the work. On the videos, he did everything to make it look like he was alone and filming himself. He certainly never wanted to get across that others did work for which he claimed credit. It was true- but he wanted to keep that under wraps.

Possibly my favorite episode ever of "the Daily Show" was filmed in haste since a hurricane or tropical storm was heading straight for NYC. When the episode aired, there was a disclaimer at the beginning explaining they did little editing of the episode due to trying to finish up and run home to their families. The audience was especially small for that episode, for that very reason. At the very end of the episode, when they came back from the last commercial break and made closing remarks, they had 5 people on the stage, on or around the interview couch. Those 5 people were the entire audience who showed up!

{Since I didn't mention it last time, we have to make our own cases for the claims we make. When someone asks you to explain something, or to provide evidence for something, and you respond with a homework assignment ("read so-and-so's book", "read so-and-so's website"), however phrased, you're going to lose your audience. It looks like you can't possibly support your claims or even explain your positions clearly. Both are signs of not understanding what you're saying despite saying it.] -
I'd expect that he'd assign a bunch of people to sanitize the area he's supposed to broadcast from- to remove/hide anything objectionable (even books like JCNG) from sight, and to make sure wholesome things were in their place- specifics dependent upon what image he wanted for that, like Country Preacher, or Cool Uncle, or whatever. There would be a bunch of people out of sight, working the computer and the feed, all to make it look like he was working alone.

Hello, Rubina. There would be fewer students, but to keep the meeting smaller than ten would mean a really small crew- which can be done when you're hosting THREE students. Usually, the meetings are padded out with extra people to look bigger, though.

[Usually, when someone here wants to switch from public threads to private conversations, it means one of 2 things. 1) I think I know your (member of family) but we're not supposed to post people's legal names here unless they're public figures like twi's board, so I'm contacting you privately to discuss knowing people in common and wanting to get personal. or 2) I have something to hide, AND I want to recruit people for my new enterprise. Since I'm trying to make claims that won't stand up to scrutiny, I'm trying to keep them secret- thus the privacy. I'm trying to recruit you now. So, there's going to be some reluctance- from painful experience from all the ex-twi splinters that have tried to recruit here.] -
Ok, next movie. "This never happened to the other fellow." "It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world."

I KNOW that one was Duran Duran, but I keep picturing the theme song as being another by Paul Mc Cartney. Even though I remember hearing Simon Le Bon explaining how he came up with the lyrics based on the movie title.

Mrs Wolf knows him as an actor. Once I asked her, she looked over the clues, and said "US history plus Jason Isaacs" had to add up to "the Patriot."

*looks it up* I know of this band, but I'm unfamiliar with this song and its lyrics.

Yes, those who stopped posting and moved on are GSC success stories. They-and we- moved on with our lives. Those of us who post here do so a few minutes out of the day, and live our lives in the remaining 23 hours and 50 minutes. :)

Hey, Shaz! True- so long as they do enough to justify having a group, they can avoid lifting an additional finger and just live off the interest. The slave labor is a bonus. Rozilla is just running the clock and trying to collect benefits from twi as long as she lives. I expect the others have similar plans. Everyone except the top cadre are EXPENDABLE and receive virtually no benefits in exchange for all the work they put in. If twi manages to stay reasonably close to legal and remains small potatoes, they can avoid official notice and IRS audits. Since they don't care about God or Christians but rather for money, that's what they're focusing on. They have their reward. For now. Later, I expect an accounting will come and it will be exhaustive.

[BTW, if you come here talking AT people, declaring you're right by fiat and anyone who disagrees with you is arguing with God, you won't get anywhere with anyone. We average one of those about every six months, and they all either storm off indignant or begin posting abusively and get kicked out for breaking the rules. (The rules are lenient and forgiving, but they exist.) It is rare when one of them actually stops to listen and dialogue with the rest of us, and realizes they can learn something. The posters here represent a number of different positions and approaches. You can learn from different approaches at the same time, all without following "the party line" because there is none, here. There's a lot to be gained for SLOWING DOWN, and really interacting with everyone else instead of talking AT them. Many have benefited from it in the past, myself included. The choice is yours.] -

Waxit: "In regards to the debate on whether the newly converted gentiles should conform to what the jewish christians were doing (circumcision)in Acts 21:25 25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing (circumcision), save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. There is absolutely nothing state above in regards to the keeping of the sabbath Why??? Because Sabbath was never an issue They were unified and of one heart in keeping the sabbath." ================================== [Here's another idea. No exception for the Sabbath was mentioned because there was NO exception for the Sabbath. Don't eat things offered to idols, don't eat blood, don't eat things strangled, no fooling around. That was it. As for the idea that everyone was in unity on ANY subject, I can't buy that because all through the Book of Acts (and all of recorded human history) we see divisions of people. Even the early Christians began making divisions ("I'm of Cephas", etc, "You must be circumsized and follow the Mosaic Law", etc.) ] -
Mrs Wolf isn't sure about the swamp, but he was in "THE PATRIOT." Was this it?

Ok, since we can search now..... Patty Duke Valley of the Dolls Richard Dreyfuss

Ok, the other one. "VIEW TO A KILL'." Catchy theme song.

BTW, Voyager had Barclay appear a few times, as well as at least one appearance by Riker and Troi.

Diana Muldaur's remembered as Chief Medical Officer Katherine Pulaski. In TOS, she played Dr Ann Mulhall in "Return to Tomorrow" and Dr Miranda Jones in "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" People keep forgetting she was a TNG regular for one season. (She wishes she could forget it, also.) The regular who appears in "Star Trek: Picard" - I'm sure you can work that one out.....
-
You are correct, sir!

Not NCIS, CSI, L&O, or those genres (neither those franchises nor anything like them) Nothing that ever aired on The Food Network, Cooking Channel, etc, nor anything that ever MIGHT air there (not food-related, not cooking-related....). You're correct that the shows have "characters" which eliminates a lot of possibilities. As I said, these shows are in no way based on any comic books (nor graphic novels, and so on).

How about "Live And Let Die"? I've got Mc Cartney's singing, and it's ringing in my head now.

Waxit: "The 7th day Sabbath was universally accepted by all and observed by both Jews,Gentiles and the apostles/leadership Acts 13: 42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. 43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. 44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God." ============================================================================= [Actually, if this is the only place you're getting it from, you're jumping to a conclusion. The synagogue was open on "the Sabbath" for prayer and talking about God. That was expected among the practicing Jews who were not Christians. When some Jews believed and became Christians, the "default" for them automatically would have been to meet on the same day unless they were unable to do so. There's also nothing shocking about a "Christian Jew" going to the synagogue to hear the Torah (Old Testament) being read. That was the only place to do it, and there were no printing presses so no Bibles at home to read from. So, unless they were prevented from doing so, "Christian Jews" would show up at the synagogue on "the Sabbath", listen to the Torah being read, and speaking to devout Jews about the Messiah and preaching Christ to them. They'd want devout Jews to know the coming Messiah had arrived, after all. It's also not terribly shocking that some Gentiles who'd want to hear would follow news of "Christian Jews" (the disciples) would end up near, around, or otherwise at the synagogue to hear. That's where they were, that's where they were teaching, and that's WHEN they were teaching. All of that is simple human nature (force of habit, this is where the Torah is being read so I listen there, this is where they need to hear, so I speak there), and it's not necessary to even get into "Israel was told to respect the Sabbath" to have a reasonable explanation. ] -
No, "the Walking Dead" was based directly on Robert Kirkman's comic/graphic novels of the same name. This round is not on anything from that franchise. The TV shows mentioned in this round are not based on any comic books, for that matter.
