Better than I was thinking- I thought he was blacked out. Then again, the vacation may have been to leave the area before it was blacked out....
-
Thanks. I suspect George is in the blackout area for now, and will return once he gets enough electricity to actually run his computer.

Ok, I was talking about this song yesterday, so now some of the lyrics came to mind. " CHARIOTS OF FIRE."
-
Any chance this was " That GIrl????"

Here, they called this " STAR TREK- THE FUTURE BEGINS." It's Abrams' Star Trek reboot movie.

Outer space, the last frontier. There are the trips of the Star Trek Enterprise. Its 5-year plan calls for us to explore strange new worlds...to seek out new life and new civilizations... to boldly fly where no man has gone in space. Live long and be happy. George was obviously quoting "Star Trek-the Next Generation."

Neither do I. Can we get another quote?

I'm shocked. It was " the Weather Girls" with their one hit, "It's Raining Men." It was so successful, they changed their name to " the Weather Girls" because people confused the line claiming they were meteorologists giving a weather report for the name of the band. FREE POST! -

For the curious, I went to try to retrieve the letter. The first page seems to have been incompletely archived, so I don't have a copy. (At least, not at the moment.) I'll see if I can copy and post the rest. -

"Money for Nothing". And your chicks for free. Used to think the CHECKS were for free before I read the lyrics, back then. Nowadays they can't play the album version of the song- people complained. ("That little f***** with the earring and the makeup. Yeah, buddy, that's his own hair! That little f&&&&&& got his own jet airplane. That little f%%%%%, he's a millionaire.") -
"Won't go to hear 'em play a tango. I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul. There's only one sure way to get me to go."

In other news, that was the Joker in Tim Burton's "BATMAN."

I thought that too. Then I saw the BBC miniseries of "the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and that showed both the spelling and aired the pronunciation, since Ford was from Betelgeuse 7. (In case there's confusion, you were correct.)

Not sure, but taking my best swing at it.... "Field of Dreams???"

I was completely stuck, until "living to run and running to live" jumped out at me. Bob Seeger's "Against the Wind."
