  1. ........ Ah! ¨ABC WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS¨! Complete with the thrill of victory....and the agony of defeat. I suppose Vinko Bogotai was the skier who face-planted in the opening.
  2. "This is gonna replace CD's soon; guess I'll have to buy The White Album again." "You see this? Huh?! N-Y-P-D! Means I will kNock Your Punkass Down!"
  3. Try not to go crazy with EVERY possible spoiler, but otherwise go ahead.
  4. Wild swing here... ¨CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR¨???
  5. I´m heating JANIS JOPLIN in my head. Is this ¨ME AND BOBBY MCGEE¨?
  6. That exchange was between ¨KING RALPH¨ and his counterpart, the monarch of Zambesi. Zambesi was planning on building an auto manufacturing plant.
  7. If I couldn´t hear the actor saying the last line, this probably would be an incredibly difficult round. This movie will probably never win any awards, but I liked it. I´ve also mused, privately, that the title character wasn´t half as interesting in the title role as if, say, I myself was in the title role as myself.
  8. I{ve heard the name ¨Gus Grissom¨ before. Is this JERRY ORBACH?
  9. I'm sure I've heard it before, but nothing is coming to mind despite that.
  10. This thread was started by someone who has a lot of first-hand, inside information about who VF is and how VF is when the cameras are off. I'm rather slow to judge how accurate anyone is based on how cool their internet presence looks. I remember an organization (non religioua) that looked incredibly well organized- judging from their paperwork, mailing list, etc. They were a mess, which anyone knew who dealt with them DIRECTLY. This website contains people who run the gamut from "Shame on you for saying vpw drugged and raped those women, and God told him to plagiarize" to "I'm just who I was before, minus the organization but with the same beliefs" through "I'm a Christian but not endorsing twi or extwi" and "now I'm a practicing Jew/Muslim/Wiccan" to "I've renounced all religions and finally embraced the truth that they're all delusions because there is no god." You won't find TOO many people here representing the first 2 positions so much, since they prefer to go off and hang out with each other. (For that matter, most GSC posters have moved on with their lives, with both twi and the GSC as distant lights in the rear-view mirror- which, to me, is a good thing.) I'll say I'm still a Christian, but I hesitate to embrace terms that twi used to isolate us from other Christians- like "believer" for ONLY twi Christians. There's a lot of freedom here to be whatever and to believe whatever, so there's a lot of points of view represented here. That's definitely counter to a twi experience, but it's generally a lot healthier to have fresh air and disagreements than unanimity and stale repetition.
  11. Right. Hawkeye can´t seem to miss at golf. Ant-Man was called ¨Tic Tac¨ and he also shrank to enter the Iron Man armor. Charles Spencer was a kid building houses for the poor in Sokovia when Ultron destroyed it.
  12. That´s him' as Foggy Nelson in DareDevil, Happy Hogan in Homecoming, and Gutter in PCU.
  13. A lot of us were spared the worst of it. If you lived at a twi location, that was a different story. In some areas, local or general area leaders insulated locals from the worst of it, whether by accident or by design. New Yorkers, for example, are notably stubborn, and did NOT march lock-step to every little thing- at least once vpw was dead. When lcm tried just barking orders, he got almost all of NY State´s leaders just quietly disregarding them. When he demanded an oath of loyalty to himself to follow him personally and blindly (he clarified to someone that IS what he meant and that wasn´t a misunderstanding), they refused to do that and said their loyalty was to God. lcm responded by firing them all, and trying to damage their reputations with the members in NY State. This largely backfired and damaged HIS reputation with the members in NY State. More than 4/5 of the state´s leaders were fired all at once, making it a lot easier for them to simply unite as a new group at once, with more than 4/5 of the state leaving with them. (In other areas, the numbers were very different, which is why lcm only lost 4/5 of the group overall when he demanded his foolish oath of loyalty.) Naturally, since this new group was formed from twi members, many of the things that were wrong with twi were wrong with the new group, but some of the worst things (rapes and druggings by the top people comes immediately to mind) seemed to have been left behind at twi. So, yes, my area had problems, but I was spared the worst of many, many horror stories of people who just wanted to serve God.
  14. He appeared in nearly every movie in a well-known series. He also appeared in a Tim Burton movie alongside a whole lot of other people of note.
  15. "When you can do the things that I can, but you don't. and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you." "An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again. But one which crumbles from within? That's dead. Forever." "Who's putting coffee grounds in the disposal? Am I running a bed-and-breakfast for a biker gang? Oh, that's Charles Spencer by the way. He's a great kid. Computer engineering degree. 3.6 GPA. Had a floor-level gig at Intel planned for the fall. But first, he wanted to put a few miles on his soul, before he parked it behind a desk. See the world, maybe be of service. Charlie didn't want to go to Vegas or Fort Lauderdale, which is what I would do. He didn't go to Paris or Amsterdam. Sounds fun. He decided to spend his summer, building sustainable housing for the poor." "Oh, you're going to have to take this to the shop." "Who's speaking?" "It's your conscience. We don't talk a lot these days." "Clearly retirement doesn't suit you. Get tired of playing golf?" "Well, I played 18, I shot 18. Just can't seem to miss." "Hey, man!" " What's up, Tic-Tac?" "Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time was... " "It was a great audition, but it'll... It'll never happen again."
  16. Any chance this was one movie called "Green Card"?
  17. I´m blanking on the name of the Tri-Lambda rep. So, let´s go somewhere else. John Goodman King Ralph Richard Griffiths
  18. Next movie. 19. Unsure about the second list, but the first were all in "Hook." Maggie Smith was the original Wendy Darling, Phil Collins was a police detective who logged the missing children report, Glenn Close was definitely disguised as a pirate, and Crosby probably was the same. I´m curious about FIsher and Lucas.
