  1. Too bad. Hollywood could probably use more Katherine Isabelle. I know I wouldn't mind terribly..... Ok, I need the next round, let's see.....
  2. In 1902, there were two cars in the entire state of Ohio. That's not the notable part. What's so notable about the 2 cars?
  3. "We meet at a crossroads in history. No longer will the wrong roads be taken." "Now back to Gene Krupa's syncopated style." "I would say he has quite a few problems. His energy seems to go in the wrong places. When I walked in and I saw you two sitting there, I could just tell by the way you were both relating that there was no connection whatsoever. And I felt when I walked in that there was something between us. There was an impulse that we were both following. So that gave me the right to come in and talk to you. Otherwise I never would have felt that I had the right to talk to you or say anything to you. I never would have had the courage to talk to you. And with him I felt there was nothing and I could sense it. When I walked in, I knew I was right. Did you feel that way?" "June twenty-ninth. I gotta get in shape. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight. " "May 10. Thank God for the rain which has helped wash away the garbage and trash off the sidewalks. I'm working long hours now, six in the afternoon to six in the morning. Sometimes even eight in the morning, six days a week. Sometimes seven days a week. It's a long hustle but it keeps me real busy. I can take in three, three fifty a week. Sometimes even more when I do it off the meter. All the animals come out at night - whores, skunk pussies, buggers, queens, fairies, dopers, junkies, sick, venal. Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets. I go all over. I take people to the Bronx, Brooklyn, I take 'em to Harlem. I don't care. Don't make no difference to me. It does to some. Some won't even take spooks. Don't make no difference to me." "Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man. June 8. My life has taken another turn again. The days can go on with regularity over and over, one day indistinguishable from the next. A long continuous chain. Then suddenly, there is a change." "I called Betsy again at her office and she said maybe we'd go to a movie together after she gets off work tomorrow. That's my day off. At first she hesitated but I called her again and then she agreed. Betsy, Betsy. Oh no, Betsy what? I forgot to ask her last name again."
  4. Both being able to pass on genes at that age while appealing to women who can still have a kid is probably more notable about passing on than being the last descendant of John Tyler (if he actually had been, of course, since that wasn't exactly the answer.) I need to think of something interesting, if possible.
  5. ALIENS. (The second one, where there was a "her" to get away from, and the Alien being yelled at. Or "xenomorph" for those who care way too much about this sort of thing.) "I'll give him an offer he can't refuse."
  6. I'm recognizing the song, but having trouble coming up with the name. It was something 60s-ish, like the Animals or the Zombies or something. If I keep working at it, I might get it. is it "She's Not There"??????????
  7. His first and last name.... Harrison Tyler.... what are they trying to do... not a children's song.... Ok, they say his name when they recite the list of US Presidential last names in order, with William Henry Harrison succeeded by "TIppercanoe" (John Tyler.) I remember when Clinton and Gore ran for President/VP, the Tonight Show invited on a man named Clinton Gore. Normal guy, but suddenly people started posting his name on bumper stickers everywhere, by coincidence of a common name with the last names of the candidates. I don't think that's the case here- there would be nothing noteworthy about it, just a historical footnote. Is he the last surviving descendant of John Tyler, or something? (Or something really weird, like the last descendant of both William Henry Harrison and John Tyler? That WOULD be something.)
  8. "What we're trying to determine is WHO killed Mr Boddy, WHERE, and with WHAT WEAPON?"
  9. I have trouble picturing Elizabeth Hurley being in all those movies, especially since she'd stand out in the little town setting for "Ginger Snaps." However, MIMI ROGERS can appear in a lot of stuff without getting headlines. (It's true, but I don't know why.) So, is it MIMI ROGERS?
  10. Ginger Snaps.....Ginger Snaps...... Stars Emily Perkins, and Katherine Isabelle. Of the 2, not so many people actually salivating over Emily Perkins, but Katherine Isabelle is something else. Is this Katherine Isabelle?
  11. "We meet at a crossroads in history. No longer will the wrong roads be taken." "Now back to Gene Krupa's syncopated style." "I would say he has quite a few problems. 12. *checks* You're right about Hoover. I don't know if there was anyone else who fit the question, though.
  13. Ford was elected to the House of Representatives, and became Speaker of the House. If he hadn't been appointed VP, he would have remained 3rd in line of succession, and when Nixon resigned, would have been the highest person on the list and become President anyway. So, he had "an elective office."
  14. Redd Foxx, a TV actor, died onset while rehearsing a new show. He fell over with a heart attack shortly after arguing with the director or something. (His friends thought it was another fake heart attack at first.) Zero Mostel was starting a new show, and died in his dressing room while awaiting his cue. So, he died during a show, but not onstage. Dick Shaun died onstage at a show. His one man shows were really weird. He entered the stage by emerging from a pile of bricks on the stage, under which he waited for the show. During the intermission, he would lie motionless on the stage. The crew were under strict instructions not to interfere no matter WHAT he did onstage. When he fell over and stayed motionless, one guy risked his job to check on him- and discovered a heart attack. They called for an ambulance, but it was too late. Personally, I think Dick Shaun would have chosen to die onstage during a show, making for the performance of a lifetime. It seems like something he'd appreciate. So, both died during a show. IIRC, both died of heart attacks. George takes the round!
  15. CORRECT! Lots of stars as the game pieces. That Eileen Brennan sure gets around sometimes.... Oh, that explains my confusion. I conflated the 2 movies into 1 movie.
  16. Thought it was "The Apostle." Ok, let's see.....
  17. Peter Falk Murder By Death [/b]Estelle Winwood MAGGIE SMITH ("Murder By Death" is another movie that's easy to link through, considering it's a little-known movie with lots if known stars.)
  18. The movie that inspired "the Wacky Races." Tony Curtis played the role similar to Peter Perfect, in an all-white jumpsuit as the obvious good guy.
  19. Forgot to answer this. "WILD WILD WEST." (BTW, the South signed the surrender, not in the town of Appomattox, but rather the town of Appomattox Courthouse. That town did itself also have a courthouse, but the surrender was not signed there. That's from "Lightning Never Strikes Twice(and other false facts.)")
  20. Avalos was saying that any respectable scholar with an ounce of brains must acknowledge that there's no such thing as Divine Miracles, and the God of the Bible as understood by anyone is legendary and fictional, and the entire Bible should be tossed on the scrap-heap of history as not relevant to today. He lost me at "There's no such thing as Divine Miracles." I'm well aware there ARE such things as Divine Miracles. If I am correct, then something is producing the miracles- which he says is impossible, and that means someone exists he insists does not. IF they exist in accordance with a plain reading of the Bible, then by themselves they lend credence to the idea that the Bible is not simply a fictional book of legends, but rather an account of the divine as ordered by The Divine, and means far more than Avalos would imagine. Avalos would, no doubt, consider me deluded, in error and undereducated. As for people like Avalos, who so blithely dismiss any experience of the Divine, I'm not interested in impressing them. Everyone's free to take their pick- of either position or some other position.
  21. True about Redd Foxx, but- AFAIK, neither ZM nor DS had any tattoos. BTW, this one thing isn't EXACTLY something they have in common with Redd Foxx, not EXACTLY. Then again, his claim to fame was more for television, and he was NOT known for live theater (not counting "stand-up comedy" as live theater in this case.)
