BTW, Mike imagines there's a big audience of readers out there who are all in accord with Mike, and not, say, spectating a fantastic car wreck. IF such a thing were true, Mike would be doing this (imaginary) crowd a disservice by only allowing them to read his posts on the GSC. Mike would set up his own board where they could read unadulterated Mike and cheer him on and so on. Then he could focus his time and effort on THEM. That he spends the time here instead says a lot. (Mainly, that there's no "them" trying to become Mike's disciples.)

If he got the right song it's his turn- in this thread, the title is all you need. (If he did not get the right song, it is NOT his turn.) -
With the current crowd, I thought that would go faster. CORRECT!

You´re not sure which? Other than C & C, was Tommy Chong EVER in anything?

Sounds like "Who Is the Scarlet Pimpernel?". Is that right? If that's right, that really got airplay? (If so, it's all good. I would just be surprised.) -

That means you post a recognizable line from a song-often the first line so long as that is not the title- that people can try to guess just from that line. For this thread, they need only guess the song, not the artist. For this thread, part of the challenge is finding a song guessable from ONE LINE that is not the title. Since you are posting the song, it's good to look it up. Since we are guessing, we may NOT look it up. So, your turn, redrock and blues! -

I was reminded, a few months ago, that we once discussed microwave ovens. Mike recited the internet myth that microwave ovens leak radiation. I linked the real story. AFTER that, Mike said that the link confirmed that microwave ovens are a radiation danger. I summarized the danger- according to the link (an official source) , microwave ovens may leak an inch or so past the case. So, unless you drape yourself across a microwave oven while it's running, you're safe from a radiation leak. I thought of that when he was running his lines recently on how well he grasps science.

Hello, redrock and blues. While we do welcome new players on the game threads, please check the first page of a thread for the rules. One constant is that ONE person is posting clues, and it is their turn. Everyone else must guess the answer WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP. (We are all on the honor system here.) If someone does look up the answer, then that person can't post the answer. (If their curiosity was just too much, well, that was that.) When it's confirmed they posted the correct answer, then it's that person's turn to post. Keep in mind that GUESSERS can't look things up, but if you're posting clues, you SHOULD look things up to make sure your details are correct. (Example- on the movie quotes thread, look up the quotes to make sure they are correct, so guessers have a fair chance.) If someone's correct, and announces "FREE POST!" , then anyone who logs in can immediately take the next turn and post clues. (That can be done to keep a thread moving, or change the players a little.) It's not hard in practice, and the threads are fun. -

Yes. When Mercedes fell asleep, they put her in the trunk of the car to sleep it off. BTW, Mercedes was played by a new actress called Heather Graham, whose first major role was working alongside Corey and Corey (Haim and Feldman.)

Um, "TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE,", by Eddie Money???? -
"I am so dead they're going to have to bury me twice." "We're going to be locked up with men who murdered, and raped, and robbed convenience stores." "Could you take the car out of neutral? We just got passed by a street sweeper." "I'm with her!" "Boy, you wouldn't be with her if she was your Siamese twin. Now get lost." "Wow. Did you ever imagine in all your life that you would see a Mercedes fit inside the trunk of a Cadillac?" "Now Anderson, I want you to take a good look at my cup of coffee. Now, I LOVE my coffee. It's probably the only thing I cherish on this god forsaken mud ball called Earth! What I'm trying to say, Anderson, is that most examiners rely on this clipboard... I don't believe in that dang. What I do believe is in my cup of coffee. Now this coffee is hot. If it falls on me it'll probably burn me, right? Speak up, son! " "Yes, yes!" " And nobody likes to get burned, now do they? " "No, no!" "So it's simple: You burn me, you fail. You don't, you pass. "

As for a few of the clues, Shrek tried to relate to Artie at the school- with typical results. Gingy (the Gingerbread Man) saw his life pass before his eyes. Banderas (as Puss in Boots) dubbed himself multiple times. The funeral at the beginning featured "Live and Let Die", and the princesses going into battle included "the Immigrant Song" and "Barracuda" (in particular, "the Immigrant Song"'s placement was very obvious- with Snow White singing to little birds- then sending them to attack as her song switched to Led Zeppelin. Donkey was asked to STOP singing Harry Chapin. Oh, and "All Star" was played by the school band- actually by A school band for the soundtrack.
